We are a local favorite where everyone comes to relax and enjoy without the dishes to do afterward. Our cozy fireplace and friendly staff will make you feel just at home.
Very authentic italian style atmosphere. Food was delicious. Especially liked the chef’s recommendation. Make sure you try the eggplant parmigiana. The waiter - Brian - delivers a great service: Attentive, friendly, personal.
This is fantastic. We had dinner here last Saturday with friends and ordered the sea bass that came with vegetables and mashed potatoes. Absolutely delicious. My husband thought his lasagna with meat sauce
was excellent. Our very Italian waiter was attentive and funny. they have a fireplace which sets a warm and inviting tone.
My husband and I love the food here, it is always delicious! Our server, Michael Angelo is fantastic and always accommodating.
Great restaurant, wait staff was incredible kind and attentive, food was phenomenal.
We had walked or driven past this restaurant a bunch of times, and were always wanting to check it out and give it a try... so, for date night we decided to make a stop.
The service here was great. Our server was really friendly and very attentive. His recommendation for the bread pudding dessert was spot on (buonissimo!), and he kept our water and drinks refilled.
The Caesar salad was rather mediocre. In fact, I had commented how the Caesar salad was more flavorful next door at souplantation. Here, the dressing was really light (almost non existent), just a couple of croutons, and the Parmesan cheese was the powdery grade like you get from Kraft. I would have expected fresh shaved (at the table?) at a place that claims to be authentic...
The main entree was the Sea Bass special. The fish and the sauce were tasty, but no where near to justifying the $38 price tag.
Also, while we were there, another group of people also discovered via text message that they had arrived to the wrong Villa Capri (there’s another restaurant by the same name just up the road in Poway). So pay attention to your reservation and location!
We dine here frequently and always enjoy our meal. The waitstaff are outstanding, the food is very good and the atmosphere pleasant.
Have been now several times, and the food is only outdone by the service. Michael Angelo provides the perfect blend of hospitality and genuine care.
Service and food are simply outstanding! I will definitely be back!
My girlfriend and I enjoyed our Valentine's Day dinner experience at Villa Capri. It was very crowded, but this was expected, and the staff did everything they could to provide good service to us. The burrata spinach appetizer was absolutely delicious — highly recommended. We also enjoyed the eggplant parm and the lobster ravioli. All in all, a memorable night, with good food, good drinks, and a friendly welcoming staff.
Short staffed and chaotic service
Very crowded for Valentines Day. We should have dined in front under heaters, but no one yet seated there when we arrived. When leaving everyone there looked so relaxed. Meal and wine was sublime. We will return!
The food was great but the noise level was awful. We all had to keep repeating everything.
The food and service are unmatched for Italian fare here in CV or Del Mar. My wife and I tried Villa Capri for the first time this weekend and are so glad we did. The staff works together as a team - doesn't matter who the person is assigned to a table as the entire team works together to take care of every customer. You really feel as though they are happy you came to eat there.
The food is over the top. We thought Red Tracton's had the best seafood pasta until we tried Capri's - and Capri is less than half the price of Tracton's...
Go! You won't regret it and once you do go you will have a favorite restaurant from here forward. We'll be back next weekend :)
The food and service were impeccable. We had the artichoke app, the halibut special and the cioppino... all were excellent!
We absolutely LOVE this restaurant! Everytime we are visiting the area this is where we have dinner! The staff is as AMAZING as the food! I highly recommend!!
We travelled a couple thousand miles for this dinner. By far the best Italian food this side of Tuscany!
Able to fit large party
Love the food. Found the noise level to be very distracting
Reasonably priced good taliian food. Salads are large enough to share. Wine by the glass is a bit expensive. You can potentially find coupons for Mon to Thursday dining that bring down the overall cost but the BOGO is limited to $16 and the main course is most likely to be more than $16. Recommend reservations for weekend nights.
Fantastic and friendly service. Food was very good. Egg plant , spaghetti, and a sandwich. All were fresh, and had good flavor
My wife never orders anything but the Villa Capri pasta, which is always great. I ordered the Pork Shank special that was as good as or better than any Osso Bucco that I have eaten in the past.
Excellent food and service with a great menu of traditional dishes and daily specials. Food always has great flavor and never disappointed in anything I’ve ordered there. Great wine list and easy parking.
We used to come here and loved the food, the waitstaff and the cozy decor. Must have changed owners because it lost all its charm and the food was not at all what we had come to expect. Won’t be returning.
Local Italian restaurant with a family feel. Busy at dinner but with a European ambience. Great Happy Hour and excellent food.
Always good, even better Saturday night. Ciopinno was very tasty as was the salad. Ours had veal and chicken dishes where were also great. Will return soon
Service and food outstanding
Prices are a bit high but the food and service was really good.
We love Villa Capri. We always have a wonderful time and the food and service is outstanding.
Our waiter was very attentive and helpful, and the food was amazing.
Although server very attentive when first arrived and for appetizers, we took a while to order and, as restaurant filled up, was harder and harder to get server attention through the meal. The food was excellent but the waiter chose a very expensive bottle of wine for the table not getting the joke from one of our party to "bring their finest champagne" said in jest. Combination of missing the jest and not double checking that, indeed, we were up for such a pricey bottle when a more "house" level bottle would have been less than 1/2 the price and likely just fine for us;-(
Overall evening was enjoyable and will return to restaurant again with hesitation but perhaps be a bit more specific in our comments to server.
Food was excellent! Place was very quaint and comfortable. Reminded me of typical restaurant in Italy
Villa Capri never disappoints! Excellent artichoke/parmesan salad, spaghetti with meatballs and manicotti!
I planned to celebrate a birthday on July 5th afternoon and after scheduling a table for 8 at 1pm I show up and the restaurant was closed! I WAS SUPER MAD!! This is the second time we come in the afternoon and it’s closed! Why do they show on Google that it’s open? MANAGMENT correct this big mistake!!!
We reserved a large table to celebrate graduation, and despite being a few minutes late the staff was very helpful and accommodating. The food was excellent, and our server was engaging. Amazing experience!
The food was amazing!! Great caesar salad and lasagna lunch. Also couldn’t resist having a latte with the tiramisu. Amazing! We will be back.
While not grand gourmet, Villa Capri uses quality ingredients and serves good food. Our waitress was kind enough to tell us that one salad would be plenty for two people to share. Serving red wine in a tumbler style wine glass made the serving size look small but that's just a minor point. I'm not sure I'd drive a long distance to dine at Villa Capri but it's close to our home and provides a convenient and enjoyable dining experience.
The food is very good and price is reasonable. One of my favorite local restaurants.
We had our Easter dinner there and the pastas were expertly prepared and delicious. The service was very courteous and attentive. Overall, it was a wonderful experience.
This used to be one of my regular restaurants BUT no longer! First they tried to trick us into buying some Italian Spring Water by simply pouring it into our glasses without asking. Then they served my entree to another guest by mistake but by the time they realized it the other guest had cut the entree in half, asked them to add parmigiana cheese to the entree and pasta, and began, but did not eat it! About 5-10 minutes later they attempted to serve it to me, and when I questioned why it was already covered in cheese and cut in half, I got no reply! Thankfully I saw them dealing with the other customer. When I questioned the server, he seemed upset by having to ask the chef to make a 'fresh one', but did. When the entree finally came out it was overcooked and not that good, but I was done with this restaurant and did not make an issue. They should be ashamed of this form of service!
This is a neighborhood gem. Food is excellent. Service is outstanding. Don't let the shopping center fool you.
