   Specialties like Shrimp with Green Sauce or Shrimp and Scallop Kabobs are always wonderful, but their oysters are over the top and the lobster has been cooked right everytime we order it. We like to try the specials of the day. Chef is very creative and food always fresh. Mussels are a great choice. Flan, creme brûlée and poached pears are wonderful desserts. Recent appetizer of stuffed avocado with shrimp was mostly mashed avocado. Could have used more seasoning and some veggies, but still tasted okay. Waiters are always a delight and their suggestions are on target.

   Great place to go with a large group- love round tables! Food was fantastic, chorizo, paella and all seafood delish. Sangria always a nice festive touch.

   I am Portuguese and grew up in the Ironbound section of Newark. There have been no comparable Spanish/Portuguese restaurants outside of Newark until now. I happened to see this one on Open Table and tried it out expecting to be disappointed. But, it was great and it's aawesome to have such a place so close. Highly recommend to everyone.

   We have eaten at Vila Verde twice now and each time with different friends. Both times everyone was very pleased with the service and the food quality and flavor exceeded all expectations. The portions are very large but better yet they are delicious from seafood to chicken to veal dishes. We will be returning.

   we were 5 for dinner on a rain soaked Fri and the valet was on the spot. Kept us dry going to and from the restaurant. Our table was ready when we arrived and our server was great. very helpful with the menu, specials etc. Bus service was as good as it gets. Food was very good and the portions could eazily feed 2 plus people. Lots to take home and just as good the next day.

   This restaurant performs identically to the well known Spanish restaurants in Newark. Portion sizes are very good and the food is consistently prepared. In this visit we went late on Mother's Day and the place was loud and bustling. My only wish was that the service was better. Our waiter seemed clearly disinterested and in a big hurry to go elsewhere; he ran through the specials rapidly and which were barely intelligible. When we asked him to repeat, it was the same experience. Other than that we were very happy and would return---but hopefully with a different server! The support staff was right on the money---quick and efficient, as you would expect in this type of cuisine restaurant.

   Being raised on Newark Ironbound food, I'm going to say that I'm a little spoiled when it comes to Spanish food. This restaurant is an awesome option if you live all the way up there and don't want to drive an hour to get to Newark. Definitely worth visiting if you're in the mood for some Spanish food. Would recommend to anyone.

   Food diversity and preparation/presentation was very good. Was looking for a non-alcoholic drink option and there was nothing outside of beer. Waiter was timely in providing information and taking our order - and then appeared rarely to ascertain what additional we might want. Was very taciturn at all times.

    My daughter and I wanted to get away for dinner and relax We had an amazing dinner, the Garlic shrimp were fantastic and the most delicious SANGRIA Thank you for a memorable evening!!
