It was appropriate for what we wanted from a romantic dinner.
This was the second time I have received spoiled lobster tasting like ammonia from this restaurant. Most recently I sent the mean back and was given another that was also spoiled because the batch or storage must not have been properly kept. They said that the lobster tail looked fine to them but looking at it will not let you know what I am tasting. I paid and they comped by Diet soda. The waitress was going back and forth between myself , the cook and the manager. None of whom came to speak with me which is unacceptable as I politely explained the problem. Although the ambiance is wonderful the food sanity is terrible and service worse. Never again.
View never disappoints! Food, service and ambience are always on point. The Lessing group really knows how to do it right, evertime!
WE had a great time at The View. We sat by the fireplace on a rainy cold night and it was intimate and outstanding. The service is always good, but tonight was extra special and made my lady's birthday that much the better. The food too is always good, but tonight was extra good. WE split the Thai Calamari and each had the ahi tuna.
I went there a number of times over the past few months. The bar is great for a drink before and after dinner. They have live music on Saturday night. The food is delicious and there's something for everyone. The staff is very nice and the be service is excellent.
We were early for our reservation, but we were seated quickly. Staff and wait service was excellent, as was the ambiance. We enjoyed our dinner. Food and drinks were excellent!
We could not have been happier with our dinner. Everything was wonderful; the service and staff were all very friendly and attentive. The food was exceptional. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, have already recommended to friends, and will be returning for sure.
Wonderful and caring staff. The View has a beautiful atmosphere and gorgeous view. The food is delicious. They do not shove or push you out. It is very relaxing and very classy place. My favorite restaurant. I would recommend to all.
I did want to purchase a item with the view emblem on it for my husband. Your inventory is very low and not much to pick from. I did like several items but nothing in my husband or my size. Please order more merchandise.
Thank you for a wonderful time.

Took my girlfriend here for Valentine’s Day and she loved it. Definitely planning on going back in the summer when the weather is warmer so we can sit outside on the water!
I’ll go back again ✨

The View is a fabulous restaurant that never fails! Food, service and ambiance always excellent!
Both lobster dishes on the menu were fantastic. My husband got the sea scallops with lobster and I had cavatelli with pasta. So yummy!!
It was so dead when we went and I loved every moment if it. From the polite and attentive wait staff to the decor of the place..everything was fabulous. Highly recommend
The service is always fantastic as is the location on the bay. The food is delicious, and I was happy to see a vegetarian option on the menu for restaurant week. I hope more vegetarian choices and perhaps a vegan option will be available in the future. While not inexpensive, I feel the cost is on target for the quality of the food, the view (especially if you can get a seat by a window or sit outside during nicer weather), and the excellent service.
One of the best restaurants on Long Island.
Visited to take advantage of Restaurant week price fix menu. Table wasn't ready at reservation time. No big deal, had a drink in the bar which was nice. Service once seated was attentive and friendly. We each tried different appetizers and entrees from fixed menu. We were not disappointed. Each dish was wonderful, nice size and beautifully presented. Thai Calamari was a big hit! Only complaint is that they ran out of Creme Brûlée, which I was really looking forward too. Took the substitute of tapioca pudding with coconut but it wasn't for me. Didn't matter as we were completely full from the delicious dinner. Highly recommend. We will be back.
Always great food wine list is fantastic always updating it which is why this is one of my favorite restaurants
Beautiful restaurant. Excellent service. Apps were best part of meal
We loved everything about View & plan to return as soon as possible!
Located by the water with a View. Great view. The restaurant interior is inviting light and airy. Delicious crafted cocktails. Service was excellent. Steak sandwich was tasty and cooked to perfection. The crab cakes are crabby with mango salsa very good. Highly recommend. We will be back again for brunch.
The chef was amazing and was able to change up all the things we asked ! Food was outstanding .. thank you restaurant week !
We went here with a friend that was visiting from Chicago. The staff was friendly, the meal was great and the view was amazing. I plan on going back again soon very enjoyable.
Excellent food, service, nice decor and ambiance. Great for Sunday Brunch also.
Great dinner for the holidays!!!!
Beautiful view. Excellent service. Tasty food. White sangria and sushi were fabulous. Fish tacos were a little dry.
Wonderful restaurant! We enjoyed the scenic views, great drinks and very tasty food! Great for a special occasion.
The View is my favorite go to restaurant. Great food, service and view. Whether you go for brunch, lunch or dinner, it is always a fabulous experience .
Friends Christmas dinner. Had a great time. Doing our family Christmas Eve dinner there also
My parents have been to the View and chose this venue to celebrate my birthday. From start to finish everything was great...from the service to food, the View did not disappoint. We ordered a bottle of sparkling water and a bottle of wine. Both were brought over immediately accompanied with fresh warm bread. For appetizers we had the thai calamari, crab salad and the pappardelle special. Everything was outstanding. Main courses included the steak, black bass, salmon and scallops and every dish looked and tasted fresh and delicious.
Dessert was a grilled pineapple with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream and our server brought it over with a candle and kept it as discreet as she could which I appreciated. :)
Definitely highly recommend the view for a date night, special occasion, or any event.
Food was delicious
The food at The View was impeccably prepared and the service was outstanding. A bit pricey but worth it!
Excellent staff. Price fixe is an excellent value. This is a great place in warmer weather when you can dine dickside
Katie was one of the best servers we’ve had. Open table reservation said it was a birthday. There was hair in our dinner. Katie corrected the problem ASAP. Courtney the manager on duty told Katie to put the desert on the house. Desert came, there was no candle. I approach Courtney in the office as they (her and the hostess) we’re drinking wine and on the cell phone. She explained she was sorry there was nothing in the computer stating that there was a birthday. I then showed her the reservation on my phone and the first line says my fiancé‘s birthday. She apologized and said dessert is on the house. Working in the restaurant business for 10+ years when there is hair in someone’s food at the MOD would check on the table to make sure that everything else is OK. Little did she know we were already getting comped dessert for the hair that was in the food. She said she would take care of it. Came back with champagne. What do I want champagne for? Then went back into her office. We had great service from Katie. Courtney did not handle the situation the way the MOD should have. Had dinner 11/14/17 check #9211.
We didn't really enjoy our meals. They tasted like the were mass produced as if for a catered affair such as a wedding. The salmon I ordered was so dry that I had a difficult time swallowing it and my husband's shrimp were not very fresh. The coffee was very weak and the desserts also tasted like they were from the frozen section at Costco. The best part of our meal were the appetizers the duck
tacos and the butternut squash
soup. There was also a musty odor to the restaurant that was noticeable as soon as we entered the doorway to the restaurant.
We were so happy that our favorite appetizer, PEI Mussels, was back on the menu with the recipe we love! The one with pancetta and shallots in anisette cream. That alone was worth the trip, but the entrees were also amazing. My Honey had the Short Rib of Beef braised in Chianti. It was so flavorful and tender! I had Pappardelle Bolognese which was delcious. The ragu was the real thing, which I don't think I've ever had before. Dessert was also excellent. My Valrhona Chocolate Marquise was rich and yummy. My partner loved his Wild Berry Cheesecake. Restaurant week prices made it all that much a better value.
My only complaint was that when we arrived about 15 minutes early, we were told the dining room was not open yet. They sent us to the bar where all the chairs are too high for me to get into after my recent back surgery. We sat in the entrance area, but when we came back there were many people already seated! I thought this was rude considering it was obvious I walked with a cane and should have been seated right away, or at least been called when the dining room opened. Still, we did not let it spoil our evening.
Although the food & service was excellent, disappointed because I made reservations for dinner during restaurant week but was told they stopped serving that menu at 7 pm & my reservation was for 8:30. That being the earliest opening. I didn't see that time limit on either your website or theirs. Very pricey on their regular menu & not all dinner choices on website were available.
Excellent food and service. Beautiful restaurant with great views. Great date night place.
We dined at the View for Restaurant week having there often before. The menu was pretty extensive and the food was good . The service was not as good as usual...we felt the wait staff should have been more attentive.
Just one complaint. Food could have been much hotter. Would have liked to savor each bite but we were forced to eat quickly since everything was getting cold quickly.
AS A FORTY YEAR RESTAURANTEUR, I DON'T OFTEN SPEAK IN SUPEARLATIVES ABOUT MANY RESTAURANTS. I ACTUALLY DON'T FREQUENT MOST EATERIES A SECOND TIME. "THE VIEW" IS ONE OF THE BEST AND WILL GET MY BUSINESS TIME AND TIME AGAIN. THE WAITSTAFF IS FRIENDLY, QUITE COMPETENT AND THEY SMILE. AS A CHEF, I CAN SAY THAT THE FOOD IS EXCEPTIONAL, FROM APPETIZERS TO DESSERT. THE ONLY DOWNSIDE IS THE NOISE LEVEL. IT IS QUITE LOUD WHEN BUSY. I'LL LIVE WITH THAT BECAUSE EVERYTHING ELSE IS TRULY REWARDING.
