Amazing. If you love high quality great tasting food, make a reservation. I read reviews and looked at the menu, so I had a very good idea of what to expect. My expectations were met and exceeded. The beef tartare was so good my wife tried it (did not see that one coming) and agreed that it was phenomenal. The beet salad was a beautiful combination of tastes and textures. The ribeye was cooked perfectly, full of flavor and oh so tender. Just when I thought it couldn’t get any better, out come the ricotta doughnuts! My wife was disappointed they had run out of the bread pudding, but I am certain we will be back again. Truly an exceptional dining experience.
absolutely delicious. This is our new favorite higher end place to eat. Just amazing. The donuts were fabulous.
Delicious food and great service!
Great meal & overall experience.
An incredible experience, every time. Our favorite restaurant in Indy!
Wonderful, chef-inspired menu. Great ambiance. Perfect place for a romantic date.
We had the chef’s tasting menu with wine pairing, which was fantastic. There was also a separate vegetarian menu for sampling so that everyone could enjoy. Great experience.
The food and wait staff were really wonderful! Thank you for a lovely evening
Hands down, one of the best restaurants I've eaten at in Indianapolis. The menu, presentation, service, quality of ingredients were all exquisite! Highly recommend!
Best restaurant in Indianapolis. The bass was phenomenal, and the ricotta donuts are to die for. I really appreciate all of the amazing service and the ambiance for a memorable valentine’s day dinner
Everything was absolutely outstanding!!! This is one of my top places to go in Indy! My wife and I will definitely be returning in the near future.
Food and presentation was great! Would definitely recommend and go back again!!
Amazing service and incredible food all wrapped inside the perfect ambience!
Enjoyed our experience except incredibly slow. It was only two of us and we were there a over 2 hours.....almost 2.5. Otherwise it was great
Picked this spot for business dinner based on all the good reviews. It was definitely 5 star dining in in the tradition of the old Charlie Trotter’s in Chicago, although with a modern vibe. They offered 2 price fixe options, $85 for 6 courses with optional wine pairings for the whole table, or 4 courses for $65, which allows individual choices, or complete a la carte. Looking at the very small plates coming out, our party was at first worried that we might be left hungry, but that was not at all the case. Each dish was immensely flavorful, and by the time we got to the Chai pudding or really delish mini glazed donuts with bacon, we were pleasantly satisfied. Wine list very extensive and expensive, sommelier somewhat helpful, wait staff could have sold more wine had they checked on us a bit more, but overall a great experience. Perfect for a special occasion or your foodie friends and clients.
The food was amazing -- all of it! And our server answered our questions well, which helped us decide what to order. I can't wait to go back!
Great tasting menu with wine pairing
Ricotta donuts 🤤🤤🤤
Upper room was wonderful at first. Large party was sat next to us the second half of the meal. Once they arrived the enclosed room echoed everything and it became very noisy. Would suggest only small party tables up there or one large party table since the space is small.
VIda is pretty much as good as it gets in Indy, and that's pretty good. Quality ingredients; thoughtful preparations; solid, consistent execution. Never had a problem with service. The wine list is also solid for Indiana. Not any aged wines, but who really has those any more? I consider it my duty to buy a bottle of Pierre Peters Champagne when we visit because it's the type of wine that shows some effort to offer high quality and good value. Most places just put a $45 bottle of Veuve on the list for $100-$120 and call it a day.
Which brings me to my only quibble -- the portions are small, even for this type of place. A lot of the cost of each dish is in the cost of the time to prepare everything, and adding a bit more product would not substantially increase that. I had sweetbreads, foie gras, duck, and bread pudding, and each of them was excellent but small. (I know, when you're eating sweetbreads, foie gras, duck, and bread budding the portions had better be small, so pretend that I had wall greens and scallops, both of which I've had and both are excellent but suffer the same portion size issue.) My point is that the portion size could be 25%-30% larger without increasing the cost to prepare the dish by anywhere near that amount.
We'll continue to visit 2-3 times a year and will love it when we go, but it's not in our monthly rotation. Great local special occasion place for us though. They deserve good community support and I hope they get it.
Excellent food. Terrible main server. We did not order alcoholic beverages and once the server knew that she became very unfriendly and un-interested in us. The rest of the service team was good and the food was excellent. But this server brought the evening down much lower than expected. Hope this isn’t a trend.
In for Devour Downtown--tried the Chef's tasting menu. Everything I had was excellent. Don't expect large portions here; expect expertly executed small dishes. Least favorite part of the tasting menu was the dessert--olive oil cake. Our server lacked any personality whatsoever this time around, but service was prompt. I love this place for a special occasion!
Best restaurant in Indy, hands down! We had the 4 course tasting menu and everything was fantastic. The duck was my favorite, but the beef tartar was also great, as was everything we tried. Ever person,
From the valet, to the hostess, to the server and food runners was knowledgeable about the restaurant and menu and made us feel welcome and appreciated as customers. Only very minor complaint, if you can call it that, is that the fixed price on the tasting menu makes you want to get the Most expensive options. Who would order the chicken over the steak on a prix fix when there is a $20 price difference if you get them ala carte? I might have to go back and try the chicken ala carte—it sounded delicious
Wonderful from start to finish.
Loved our time here. Food was wonderful and creative and the service was top notch. We will definitely plan on coming again. Highly recommended!
We chose Vida during the Indy devour. We appreciated the eccentric menu and fresh ingredients. We learned that they grow their own herbs right in the restaurant on the wall. My friend took advantage of the wine paring with one 6 course chef menu which was diverse and beautifully plated. With the soft muted lights, intimate setting, and grade service. I definitely give Vida 2 thumbs up. Shout out to our server Dean that made our dinner even better with his great personality, charismatic energy, and great knowledge of the restaurant and menu
We had a wonderful experience at Vida.
Seven of us gathered to celebrate a couple of birthdays. Most of the guests had not been to Vida previously . Everyone enjoyed the food and the service was excellent. The Devour Indy 3-course menu was amazing with standards such as steak cooked in creative ways.
The only negative was that it was difficult to hear due to the noise level. My husband and I have eaten there previously and, with only two, it wasn't a problem. At a larger table, communication was a bit more difficult.
Great ambiance, superb service. Also just found out that my 12 and 13 year old are able to eat with us even if we get the tasting menu with wine pairing (which, on the menu, claims all people at the table must get). That is helpful for our family of foodie children and parents who enjoy a wine pairing.
Great food as usual. Wonderful service staff. Took the time to meet us at the curing room and discuss the process!
The food, ambiance at VIDA was outstanding. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who is willing to spend a bit more for excellent quality.
Ate here with my husband during devour. I have lived in Indy 6 years and this was the best meal I've had here yet.
Vida earned its stars for the two of us. They called us to confirm our online reservation, ask about a special occasion, food allergies (in our cases, none) etc., and confirmed that the reservation time was consistent with our meeting a theater curtain downtown. The server was knowledgeable about everything on the menu including what he said were a few new items, and paced our meal perfectly to leave in time for that curtain. The meal was first rate down to the plating and the garnish. On the way out, we booked our next visit which will be with friends before a concert.
Honestly the best meal I’ve ever had.
Food is always fantastic! We had the duck and scallops entree... our first visit the service was amazing, second visit ok and last night it was just ok.
Vida is excellent in every category. We had the 4 course menu, choices were great, food was great and the service was great. This has to be one of the top restaurants in Indianapolis.
The food and atmosphere was good. It's a little pricey especially for the amount of food you get. I don't think I will bring my kids.
So I’m never one to find myself satisfied after a visit at a place as hyped up as this. All I have to say is: believe the hype. From our super friendly, talented, and knowledgeable bartender (Ethan) to the food and on to the ambiance, everything was perfect. We were celebrating our engagement and the entire staff took care the time to make sure we wanted for nothing and we were able to enjoy every minute. Thanks Vida, you’ve become a special spot for us.
Our out of town friends are on the Keri diet. The server worked with them and brought variations on the menu. The staff was amazing and the food delightful.
Consistently innovative with excellent service. Recently we required an all liquid diet for one member of our party so we gave them advance notice. They created and excellent 3 course meal for her. While a busy restaurant the sound level is very manageable and you can easily have a conversation.
