Victory Tavern Ratings and Reviews
We went to Victory Tavern before the Mavs / Golden State Game. Restaurant was very accommodating. Our server was awesome. Very accommodating to us. We added up ending 3 additional people to our table and he was very helpful. Great personality. Food was also very good.
We went on a night where there was a concert at American Airlines Center, not realizing this was the case. On game/concert nights they have a different menu - one that ONLY has their most expensive entrees. No burgers or sandwiches as are shown on their regular dinner menu. Every entree option was $25+.
The Victory Tavern was recommended by a Dallas-based friend and colleague. An old college friend and I were looking for a place to grab a good steak before the Mavs-Celtics game. The Tavern fit the bill and then some. The food was delicious (BEST mashed potato's ever!) and the service impeccable. When we return next season to see our beloved Celtics wax the Mavs, we will also stop by the Taven for our meal. A TERRIFIC spot.
The drinks are way over priced. Plus the bartender didn't know how to make an extra dirty martini. They made it with kettle one, which I know there is a premium charge for. I was not asked my preference of vodka. I had to chase my waitress down for a check. We were there for an event at the AA center.
The food here has always been average and the prices high. The vegetable soup has always been the best thing here, but last night, it lacked salt. The mac and cheese had a burn taste. The only reason we keep coming here is because it is across from the AAC when we want something convenient and accessible. The Wait people are very nice and effective. The management just needs to step up on the quality and quantity of the food.
Had overpriced fish and chips and a steak salad for what we ended up eating. Fish was tasteless, only thing that made it edible was the dipping sauce. French fries were mushy and cold, had probably been under a heating lamp for a while before making it on to the plate. The salad was good, but the steak was terrible! Asked for medium doneness came out past well done and even burnt in places. How are you a chef in Texas and not know how to cook a steak? Our server was delightful and the only positive to our experience a the restaurant. Overall bad experience, will not be back.
We really enjoyed Victory Tavern. We were there with friends before the Tim McGraw/Faith Hill concert. It is very loud and since my husband has hearing loss, he had to turn off his hearing aid and then couldn't hear the conversation which bothered him. We all had the steak and it was very flavorful except it was a little overcooked - we were pretty sure they got our order mixed up with another couple at the table who ordered medium well where we ordered ours medium. Wine was good and our waiter was very attentive . Overall it was a great experience.
