Victor's Ratings and Reviews
The entire experience was amazing. The food, the service, the atmosphere and the friendly, relaxed wait staff. Everyone seemed to be having a great time and the food was cooked to perfection for myself and the other three people having dinner with me. I highly recommend Victor's to anyone that wants a great night out for almost any occasion.
This was our second visit. The first was so impressive just sitting at the bar that we came back for an anniversary dinner. We were not disappointed. The only glitch in our experience was it took longer than I thought for the bread to come out. However, when it did arrive, it was literally streaming hot. Our main courses arrived almost too hot to eat at first. Im used being served just warm, so this was an amazing feat. Attentive service from Emily. A little pricey, but you do get what you pay for! Already making plans for a visit next month!
We thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to Victors, and look forward to returning. Fabulous food, great service. The heart -shaped lobster ravioli with seared scallops was a great choice for Valentine's Day. I only reserved the fifth star for food because of two tiny details that might not matter to anyone else; I like more rustic or whole grain breads, and I would like a greener side salad that's less about the iceberg.
Victor's is the epitome of excellence in both food and beverage service. Chef George is one of the most unparalleled chefs in the entire world. York, PA is beyond lucky to have him so local. He consistently provides creative menu options, quality ingredients, and delectable entrees. Without him, this restaurant would be nothing.
Additionally, Zach St. John, house manager, provides excellent experiences for dining room and bar patrons through a formidable knowledge of beer, wine, and craft cocktails. Zach does an phenomenal job at providing a variety of craft beers on tap. He is your go-to for any questions regarding beer and wine. He always knows the perfect pairings.
Our server, Luke, topped off a perfect night with carefully crafted jokes and witty banter. His attention to detail was second to none, and he was superbly helpful in all menu questions. Next time you're thinking of going out for a nice dinner, lunch, or just a few drinks, if you're not immediately selecting Victor's as your top option, you should probably reconsider your priorities.
We really enjoyed a lunch at victors a few weeks ago so decided to try the meatball Monday special. The service was great as usual but the spaghetti was very very over cooked and just layed in the bowl. I'll never go back for Monday specials. It was terrible. The bread and salad and wine were fine. The chef had nerve sending out two bowls of that over cooked pasta.
This was our first visit to Victors recommended by friends. We were celebrating a special birthday with our family. I'm always a little nervous about taking our fussy eating kids to new places, but Victors was accommodating of their needs and the food was delicious. The menu has lots of choice and great value too. The service was awesome, it's a nice change to go to somewhere and not feel rushed. We'll be back soon to celebrate with friends
Victor's has become our favorite restaurant in the region. Their service is second to none. The food is always well-prepared and the presentation is exemplary. I had a spicy linguine with seafood during this visit. It was excellent. The calamari appetizer is phenomenal as well as the Caesar salad with anchovies. We frequent this restaurant for lunch and drinks in the evenings, also. This is a place for Foodies. If you are searching for a great restaurant in the York area, I have saved you a lot of time. If entertaining guests, you cannot go wrong dining here.
The waiter was attentive when we got there - but we were 1 of 2 tables. Toward the end of our meal, he disappeared. I would have loved another glass of wine as I was done my meal but my husband was not, but by the time he came back we were both done. Too late at that point. The food, as always, was great and it is apparent the chef cares.
As usual, Victor's did not disappoint. Selection of local craft beers was excellent. My wife liked her pear-based mixed drink, and we had a bottle of Pinot noir with dinner (wife's choice). My wife and I split the special appetizer, Bruschetta Pomodora served on a portabella instead of batard . As starters, my wife got the beet salad while I ordered a half order of the penne (gluten-free pasta with shrimp, scallop, artichoke heart, asparagus, roasted tomato). We loved them. For entrees, my wife got the special tortellini stuffed with butternut squash and I got the veal saltimbocca. Both were again fantastic. Finally, we split the special desert, the chef's award-winning apple streusel cheesecake. Wow. Best date night we have had in a long time.
Pretty good. I'm from York originally, but have been in NYC for the past decade, so I don't have much to compare against in terms of local dining options. I would say to take care in making sure ingredients are stocked - there were a couple of drinks that couldn't be made because they were out of ingredients. Would have been understandable - except that our dinner reservation was at 5 PM. We were the first people there for dinner, but they put us in a drafty spot by the door - the curtain doesnt keep the draft out - if you get cold easily, you may want to avoid this place when it's cold out. Otherwise, no complaints. Portion sizes were good - quality wasn't an issue. The place was crowded by the time we left, but noise level wasn't overwhelming at all. Plenty of parking, easy location to get to. Service was attentive. Prices were reasonable.
The Victor's Crew always does an amazing job. Bridgette our server was tremendous and took care of our needs throughout the evening and kept us on track to make our curtain time at the Strand. The wine selections are tailored to fit the Italian/Mediterranean menu and are well curated. We enjoyed a delicious tempranillo with our meals. The veal saltimbocca was delicious as usual. The group also enjoyed the seared duck and some vegetarian options as well. We rounded everything out with the charcuterie plate great for sharing, thank you Zach. Everyone enjoyed the tiramisu for dessert as well. Cheers to Mark, Marie and the rest of the crew. Great meal as always!
Portions were small. In our party of 3, 2 ordered small plates of pasta with shrimp. There were only 2 very small shrimp on each plate! That was less than small: it was meager!
We like Victor's very much but we're somewhat disappointed this time. However, we will try again!
An associate and I were in town for business and chose Victor's because of the positive Open Table reviews. The restaurant was full by 7:00 on a Wednesday night. The menu is Italian-influenced; my associate proclaimed his veal "excellent" while I enjoyed a very good filet. The liquor and wine menus were somewhat limited, but our server (Bridget) provided excellent recommendations.
