Victor's Ratings and Reviews
Went to Victor's last Sunday to celebrate Father's Day w my Dad, husband and Dad's wife. Had a marvelous time from beginning to end - the desserts are incredible! Tucked away on a quiet street in York, Victor's is perhaps easy to overlook when considering dining options. Not anymore for me...it is my new go-to in York.
Very nice restaurant. Unique setting in converted church with outdoor tables. Very large bar with tvs and entertainment. Food and service excellent. Reasonable wine list and by glass. Our apps and entrees were great. Emphasis is Italian but special of day was halibut which was excellent.
This was our second time dinning at Victors. The food is outstanding, and the service was as well. We had our eight year old with us this time. The kids menu was great and our server interacted with him nicely. He enjoyed himself. The dinning room is small, which is part of its charm. This is a great place for a date.
Was in York for just a few days -- always looking for a great meal. Found Victor's highly rated on Trip Advisor and it did not disappoint. A beautiful spring evening and many diners were eating outside so we had to opt for inside but the atmosphere and decor are not to be missed. Old church renovated nicely. Food was delicious, some creative and different options, nice wine list. Sat at bar for after dinner drinks to listen to some live jazz on a Friday night. Friendly staff and all around good service.
The wait staff is spectacular. Bridgett was our server, she was friendly, well informed and spot on! The food was well done and tasty. The blackened seasoning on the scallops in risotto was a taste treat for my mouth. They have a nice selection of wine, and excellent cocktails!
The evening was practically perfect..from the service to the food.. absolutely no complaints there! The only thing that kept this night from being 100% perfect was another group that was also there for dinner, was extremely loud and did not seem to care that other people were there to also have an enjoyable night out. Even though my husband and I were at the same table there were times that we could not even have a conversation due to the volume of others. For the prices on the menu, the food is absolutely worth every penny, but with that said...common courtesy should also be a priority with this type of dining experience.
If you are driving anywhere near Troy and you want very good food at a real value, then this is worth the detour. This restaurant is located in a converted church, in a mixed use neighborhood. The inside is nicely done, very clean, and someone obviously put a lot of thought into the entire menu and the wine and beer selection. The choices certainly pleased these ova/lacto/piscine imbibing vegetarians, but there are plenty of choices—but not an overwhelming number—for others. We liked this find so much as we were driving to D.C. that we stopped on the way back to Western NY.
Victors never disappoints! Service was a little slow at first but once we were in touch with our waiter he was great. My husband had the veal which he is still raving about, 2 hours later. I had the Pappardelle with short rib meat and roasted red peppers and mushrooms and it was stupendous. I've yet to have a bad meal, it's a really cool building and it's a great date night place. If you haven't been, you must at least try it! It is a little pricey, but we'll worth it in my opinion.
It was a Monday night and we were entertaining a business associate from out of town. Other venues were closed so some had suggested V's.
Overall, not a bad meal. Interesting ambience. But way too expensive for typical Italian grub.
Our table of 4 may have had 2 glasses of house wine, each; 4 simple main courses; 1 appetizer we all shared and a dessert for each. Came out to about $60 a head, plus tip.
Service was meh...
We enjoyed our first trip to VIctor's. The setting in an old church was unique. We enjoyed our meals, but felt that the portion size for a dinner meal was rather small for the pasta dish one guest ordered. We loved the cheese plate appetizer, but again felt that the portion was small. Our server was attentive and knew the menu well. A nice meal in a quaint space!
