The cuisine at Victor’s includes the most delicious, authentic dishes combined with the restaurant’s exclusive creations that represent the evolution of Cuban cuisine. Signature dishes include Victor’s famous black bean soup, shredded beef (“Ropa Vieja”), and roast suckling pig (“Lechon”).
The restaurant itself is divided into three spacious dining rooms, accented with warm lighting, colorful Cuban art, tropical ceiling fans, and lofty sky-lit ceilings. Its Cuba Lounge is intimate and warm, featuring a tapas menu and a variety of Cuban cocktails such as Mojitos and Sangria.
Great place, but very noisy. In addition to a very lovely live music they play recorded music which adds to the overall noice. We practically cannot have any conversation at the table.
Eaten dinner at Victor's twice. Enjoyed both experiences, top to bottom. Food and service excellent, in a wonderful setting.
Great tasting food
Always on point! The service is exceptional and if you’re lucky enough to have Armando as you’re waiter, you will truly enjoy the experience. Everything I’ve tried has been amazing! Have been coming to Victor’s Cafe for more years than I can remember!!You will not be disappointed.
Enjoyed our pre-matinee Brunch...unique menu and enjoyed the food...just not a 5* experience to me, nor is it price that way. But, that being said...definately a place I would want to return to for the opportunity to experience other dishes. Ceviche was great, pig awesome, and the ropa viejo delicious. We had 6 people and 5 of us loved the meal, the other did not get what they thought they would be eating. Still was good though.
So if you find yourself headed to see Wicked and want a restaurant around the corner...well, you found it!
You should go and we will go back!
Victor’s has a nice vibe albeit a bit loud. The table service was very good and the food is excellent. We had an appetizer sampler to start, which had a good variety of items, all of which were very good. We both had the slow roasted pork, which has an excellent flavor and is extremely tender (having been roasted for 24 hours per the menu). Their classic Mojitos were just right and not too sweet. The Cuban coffee was a nice finish to the dining experience.
The only negative was our table. We were put into a 2 person booth righty by the kitchen door. Every time the door opened, it hit the back of my seat. We had reservations and should not have been put at such a crappy table. If they try to put you in this booth, just say no. We should have.
The hostess would not open the restaurant door until noon on the dot, I had a reservation at noon. They need to either move reservation slots back or open the door 15 min before so their patriots are not like homeless people waiting at the door. Very unprofessional! I had a client meeting. Very embarrassing.
Food was mediocre. Lechon Asado and moro were both super dry. Avacado rellenos and guava cobbler were fantastic.
My husband has always wanted to go to Cuba, so we selected Victor’s Cafe to get a sense of the cuisine. What a great choice. The quesadillas and croquettes for appetizers were wonderful. And my entree of chicken was also very good. I particularly liked my sautéed vegetables. My husband chose a rice dish with vegetables. He was very pleased. The only negative is that the tables are very close together and it was very noisy. Difficult to carry on a conversation. But we loved the food!
Food outstanding. Wonderful atmosphere. An excellent choice for a pre-Broadway meal or beverage.
Victor's is a great Cuban restaurant, with yummy food and drinks. However, if you are trying to make it to theater, you need to constantly remind the staff of your time limitations.
Wonderful brunch with excellent Cuban food. This is a perfect for a long leisurely brunch meeting old friends and family. The jazz band can play, the volume is just right for the great drinks and catching up. Get any of the dishes with yuca, ropa vieja, papa relleno
The Bronzino special was excellent
The service was outstanding and the food was superb
Service wasn’t good/had to make requests a few times.
For the prices of things, portions were extremely small, along with just a few ounces of wine-steep prices!! Food wasn’t as good or tasty as in the past! Lachon wasn’t moist or tender-dried up.
Delicious food, friendly and attentive service. Thoroughly enjoyed our first time visit.
Excellent dining choice before the broadway show
The restaurant is always a wonderful experience our waiter who wears Blue, was terrific, very helpful when choosing a menu item and a very pleasant person. The food is Fabulous!
Victor’s never disappoints! We go every time we are in NYC! You can’t go wrong with Victor’s!!
Always can rely on a good Cuban meal at Victor’s. Ordered the seafood paella as soon as we were seated as we had a show to catch and it takes 45 minutes to make it. Decided that I did no want a full entree for dinner and asked instead for a Cuban sandwich (which is only on the bar menu). Waiter was kind enough to check to see if it was OK and it was - delicious as usual. Wife completed the meal with a flan which she liked.
The food was very good and the service was exceptional! We went on a Thursday night at 8pm for after work dinner. The venue is very clean, chic and roomy. We had the appetizer sampler "1492" and it was delicious (also nice that waiters took the time to explain each dish). The Lechon Asado was great, ropa vieja very good (just smaller portion than expected. And the 10oz Churrasco and Chimichurri did not disappoint. A family style of black beans also was brought to the table, which made it feel more like home. A but pricey, but high quality!
Work party. Service was helpful and patient
Great food. Service took a bit long but overall it was okay
Delicious authentic Cuban Cuisine. Professional friendly wait staff and front of house. If you like white sangria there's is tops with guava as one of the fresh fruits.
we went for brunch and the service and for were terrific. the atmosphere seemed a little dated but the did and service made up for it!
Food was excellent but noise level was very high. The service was very good and the prices were compatible with Long Island restaurants. Drink prices were off the charts but I guess that’s normal for Manhattan.
Great pre-theater restaurant. Good value and great Cuban food.
The best Cuban restaurant in the City. Love the vaca frita. Have never had a bad meal here and having been going here for over 30 years.
It was a great experience! Will definitely come back ! Thank you !
Our experience at the beginning of our meal was very nice. The dining area was beautiful, the music was wonderful. Service started on a good note. But, as the meal progressed, we were increasingly rushed to finish our meal. We did not even ask for the check, but it was rudely put on our table regardless. My friends and I were having a lovely time, but then we felt very pressured to leave because the waitstaff was hovering over us, and made us very uncomfortable. Overall, we were unhappy with our experience.
Found this place by accident and fell in love with it! It's definitely on my MUST VISIT WHENEVER WE'RE IN NYC list! Excellent service, fabulous food and drink, charming atmosphere.
Food was excellent / sangria was amazing - service matched the quality of food and beverages!
Victor's Cafe is a must stop while in NYC for authentic cuban! Sangria is delicious with papaya and other fruits. The classic beef and pork dishes could not be any better. Armando was attentive and a professional is providing service. Love this place! Get the sweet plantains as a side too!
Excellent food and atmosphere. Wonderful visit with friends
Great food and excellent service. A special place before or after a show--or anytime!
PUT VICTOR'S CAFE AT THE TOP OF YOUR LIST!!! They have an amazing eye for ingredients. Everything we had was some of the BEST Cuban food I have ever had. The drinks were magnificent and WE WILL be returning!
Very nice experience. Food, service, sangria and atmosphere were all very nice. We will certainly go back.
Everything about this place was fabulous! Food, service, ambiance excellent! Will definitely return when we come back!
Always amazing and a special place in our families heart.
