I have been coming here for years and never disappointed the food and drinks are always on point!!!
The food and service were both excellent. Enjoyed the decor and ambience.
Reserved a table for a late night dinner after a Broadway show, in celebration of our anniversary. Everything went according to plan, bottle of Prosecco already waiting at the table for us, and the entire staff welcoming us with a BIG Happy Anniversary. What can I say, the service was great, the food was great and our celebration was great!!!
Dinner and a show...
Great food and great service. The Snapper was excellent and the Ropa Vieja was incedible. Get the Flan for dessert
Not impressed. Very loud and cramped dining area. We had a reservation at 5:30 and did not get seated for 50 minutes. It appeared that they were over booking . The bar and lobby were so tight people were waiting outside.
Awesome experience! The staff was great very professional! Attentive! Knowledgeable and gave great advice! Get the Margarita ‘s and stuffed avocado! Amazing!! A true forever keeper place!
Another fantastic meal at Victors. Food and service excellent as usual.
This place is a gem in the heart of NYC! Great food and a culinary delight! You can come back many times and the experience is better each time!!
I was disappointed in the quality of the food. I always held Victor’s in high regard. But like most restaurants in the theater district....the food is not great. I ordered the roasted pork with rice and beans. I found it all to be extremely dry. The pork was chewy, dry and actually rather tasteless. The rice and beans were super dry! Unfortunately not a great meal.
Our waiter was perfect. Did not rush us even though the restaurant was packed and many waiting. We have been to Victors many times and the food never disappoints. We sat towards the front so the sounds of the band in the bar drifted in and really added to the atmosphere. Plantains may be the best in NYC. Tables are situated so it is easy to strike up conversations if you desire, particularly for parties of two.
Definitely make a reservation as they are always busy.
The food is simply wonderful. Courteous attentive servers that can accommodate special orders or food allergies.
It is a bit noisy so not great for two people dining, a romantic evening or good conversation.
Excellent crafted cocktails
We had always wanted to try Victor’s, and since it was very conveniently located for our theatre, we tried it.
Menu provides some variety and it is not overly expensive. Drinks, however, are ridiculously overpriced.
The restaurant is extremely noisy and crowded(tables too close together). Conversation is difficult and the service was nowhere near exceptional. We had to consistently look for our waiter to order or request items. He was, however, very quick to clear plates from the table even while some of us were still eating. We will not be dining here again.
Post New Years celebration
Excellent food and very friendly staff. I prefer the front section of the dinning room, as opposed to the back where it can get a bit crowded a peak times. I would never seat at the bar in the evening if eating with anyone, as there is live music which would make any type of conversation impossible.
Food was good but only had a couple of servers so it was slow & had to rush to see the show. The pre-fix was excellent
Loved everything about this restaurant! Plus location is great for Mean Girls & Cher.
New Years Eve in NYC! There was a live band and four course meal! Champagne toast at midnight! Great time!
As they hadn’t confirmed that I appeared on the date of my booking I’m now having to fight with opentable about this, so dont book via opentable.
Great experience. Very good cuban food and exceptional service.
We dined on NYE. Our server was great and the food delicious. Thank you
Food was great and very speedy, but not rushed. Our waiter Armando was fantastic, friendly, attentive and helpful. Atmosphere was very festive. Drinks were great. We had the suckling pig and the seafood paella. Both were fantastic. If you are a ceviche lover, don't skip the ceviche appetizer. Definitely will visit again.
Good food. Good atmosphere. Waiter was a little curt. Made a request on Open Table, but nothing was done related to that request. Was a birthday. Wanted a cake and sparklers. Didnt ask except on the Open Table reservation. It wasn’t offered, but I never asked anyone when there. Was given the wrong bill (much more), but got that corrected. Good. Expensive, but good. Would go again.
The Food was Excellent. My family and I went here and not one person left any food on our plates. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
No bread for starters in a Cuban restaurant, waiter said the only bread we could have was purchasing a hamburger. The food is excellent however the quantity for being a Cuban restaurant is not accurate. For example all of the main courses brought a handful of rice along with meat. The atmosphere for a Cuban restaurant is intended to have a live band playing while enjoying your comida “food” there was a live band however it was stationed in the front of the restaurant where the bar was located in a separate room. Ruining the entire environment, I thought while leaving I would have rather ate my food at the bar instead of listening to the American Rock Music along with the rest of the dinners.
Great food, fun atmosphere but shockingly poor service for my party of 4 women. All of us are businesswomen who frequently dine out & we all had the distinct impression that we were being ignored because we were a party of all women. Very disappointing
My wife and I took the opportunity that we came to the city to see a play and visited Victors Cafe. Despite the fact we were 2 hours early they accommodated our request for an earlier reservation. The service was very good and food was delicious and worth visiting.
Best mojitos ever. Great service by Juan and team. Great food and music, perfect night out in NYC !
Never a disappointment. Always good service and food. Love that that take care of you when they know you are going to a show Will be back again
Loe the food, seems authentic and is delicious! Lovely place.. but does get crowded..our five-some kind of got jammed into a space for four...Other than that terrific!
I found Victor's more than 40 years ago when it was on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. For a while there were two when the West 52ed Street location opened and then a number of years ago the 71st Street original was closed.
Throughout this long love affair with Cuban food, drink and hospitality I have never had a bad meal! Some years ago, my wife and our extended families have gone to Victors between Christmas and New Year's. Some times with as many as 20 and this year a low of 6.
Wonderful service, a lively restaurant vibe and great sangria. The ropa viega is always a winner, the fish fresh and the roast pork a real treat. For appetizers try the "1492" platter, a little of everything and all very good.
The only thing missing is "bifsteak emanazado" a dish that disappeared from the menu about 5 years ago and needs to be resurrected. Please o please!!
Wonderful place for a celebration with family and friends or after the theater.
The food is outstanding although pricey. I highly reccomend eating here. The appetizer assortment platter was especially excellent.
Pre theatre quick lunch on Wednesday after Christmas the staff was understanding and accommodated our time sensitive request. Perfect access to the theatre district.
Don’t make reservations at 9:45 they’ll make you sit at the bar and rush you out. I don’t understand why they have 9:45 option available on Open Table if they won’t seat you at a table. The food is good. Service and hospitality was the worst I’ve experienced.
Rather an unattractive menu. Their Chef Special is a simple stew with some rice and beans, a disappointment.
Always a great time at Victors!
We were there for Christmas Day. Excellent Latin restaurant. Varied menu, good atmosphere and live music.
Beautiful place.Excellent food and service, great atmosphere and location .
Xmas eve! Ambience was really good and so is the food :) thanks to Victor’s Cafe team for their friendliness :)
On Christmas Eve....Fabulous experience... thank you to all the wonderful staff !
