Victor’s is a great spot right in the heart of the theatre district with fantastic authentic Cuban food. We came here for lunch and thoroughly enjoyed the food. Also some very well made cocktails and nice ambiance
Overall very good service. Guess my biggest complaint is what a complete ripoff the $14 mojitos are. I don’t mind paying extra for drinks in a big city but they are served in tall, narrow glasses and ice right to the very top of the glass probably netting you about 3-4 ounces of drink. Small point that probably sounds petty but kind of swayed my whole opinion about Victor’s.
If you like Latin food this is a great place.
This is our second time at Victor's and was enjoyed as much as the first time. Love the food there and the appetizer platter for two is great. I had never had churros for dessert and they were also perfect.
Everything was perfect from apps through desert. Friendly and professional staff. Great timing between Angels shows!
Very good all around
My husband and I were vacationing in NYC and chose Victor’s for a mid afternoon meal. We were pleasantly surprised with the decor of the restaurant. Our waiter left something to be desired, but overall, we enjoyed our experience. Food was delicious.
Very disappointing. All five entrees were dry and/or bland. We had advised wait staff that we were going to the theater so returning the entrees and reordering would have been more detrimental to us than them. Our requests for some kind of sauce in an attempt to enhance the dishes were met with surprise and reluctance -- and then a thimbleful of au jus was delivered for the table; had to ask for a second one! The dining room was crowded, even at 5:30, and it was difficult to flag down our server to communicate requests, let alone express any concern about quality. Request for bar refill was not delivered at all.
Overall, a lackluster meal when we expected a far better dining experience for the prices.
Skirt stake was amazing!!!
We absolutely loved the cuisine, service and food. From the moment we were welcomed by the hostess to the wonderful waitstaff to the delicious cuisine, we were happy and satisfied to until the end.
Food was delicious. Decor beautiful. They were extremely attentive to 2 people in our party who are wheelchair bound. The attention was greatly appreciated.
FABULOUS ON ALL ACCOUNTS !!!!! GREAT STAFF !!! ALWAYS SERVICE WITH A SMILE
We went to victor’s before a matinee. Nice relaxed atmosphere, attentive service and great food. We had a leisurely meal and they never rushed us, and when we said we needed to get check b/c we were trying to make a show, they were quick and responsive.
Great ambiance and delicious food. The mojitos were to die for
Nice meal and good service at Victors despite a busy theater night. They did a good job of handling the reservations and the food was excellent. Recommend the roast pig and also the bronzino for dinner. Good tapas choices as well. We were sitting near the lounge and could hear the Latin trio playing. Was lots of fun.
perfect for pre/post theater lunch or dinner. Great creative Cuban food and delish cocktails. Service was fantastic and the place was packed.
The dinning experience was terrific; it was post-matinee for a friend's birthday and really fit the bill. We both had a wonderful time. The only problem was it was a little too noisy. I have been to places where I felt I had to leave; this was not the case, but the experience would have been perfect, if the noise level was a little lower.
Had a 6:30 pre theater reservation and was not seated until 7. When we were seated the waiter told us there were only 5 menu options that could be prepared on time for us.
We were in NYC for the weekend, and needed to find a pre-theater place to eat. Victor's Cafe was recommended to us by a friend so we made reservations, never having tried Cuban cuisine. Our meals were all delicious, and I will definitely return the next time I visit Broadway!
Can’t wait till go back. Fabulous food, great service and nicely appointed space.
Fun place. Good food, great service.
When you think vegetarian cuisine, Cuban restaurants are not necessarily the first thing to come to mind. But the vegetable paella at Victor's ticks off all the boxes. A delightful combination of asparagus, onion, sweet peppers, and more over a perfectly seasoned bed of rice - perfection. The hearts of palm salad was an incredible starter, and the side of plantains for the entree was perfection. We'll definitely be back, thank you Victor's!
After all these years, still "excellent!" Great Cuban food served with a smile in a wonderful, fun atmosphere. Staff very accommodating. Dined with vegan/vegetarian friends last. It was no problem. Chef made changes to the veg paella, and suddenly it was a vegan paella! Wonderful! Our server knew about our friends and our time schedule (we needed to leave on time to attend a show). Everything was run smoothly. iMuchas gracias!
Nice atmosphere, good service and enjoyable food. Good place to visit.
Great atmosphere, good service and the best Cuban flavor in town..!!
Great place for Pre or post Broadway show dinning .
Food and servise was wonderful . 🌟
We ate at Victors pre theater. I picked it based on the location relative to the show and it was a winner. The atmosphere was delightful as was the service and the food was delicious!!! I will come back again just to dine.
Fantastic staff all the way around. We were seated very close to our reservation time, were well served at the bar, and the drinks were great too. It is certainly a high-end experience on mid-range prices. The food was fantastic.
Loved this restaurant great food lovely aviance and excellent service
Will def go again !
I’ve been coming to the city several times over the last few months and each visit we make sure to go to Victor’s. The last couple of visits, we noticed that the plantain chips were not brought to the table and this last visit I asked for them when we ordered our dinner. They said they would bring some and they never arrived. When we left the restaurant, it didn’t appear that anyone had them on their tables. I know they’re just plantain chips and salsa but they are definitely one of the highlights of coming to Victor’s. It would of been fine too if they would of told me that they didn’t have any or weren’t serving them that night because then I would not have been looking forward to them.
What a wonderful and lovely dining experience. The food was absolutely terrific (you MUST have the ropa vieja!!). The staff was attentive, friendly, and made us feel special. The ambiance made you feel as though you were dining in someone’s beautiful back porch in Cuba. A completely successful experience!!!!
Terrific! Good food, conscientious servers.
We visited this restaurant after a show. Perfect location for Broadway. I must say the food and value was great. The service was awful. I would like to use stronger words but I will refrain. The waiter was not qualified, unprofessional, inattentive and the busboy poured water into our cocktails. The food was late , arrived at different times and all four of us were frustrated with the service. What a shame because the food was great!
Our usual restaurant was booked so we tried Victor's since we recently visited Cuba. Wow. This place was a blast. Live music in the lounge, great staff, amazing food and a very unique and authentic atmosphere. The pictures on the internet do not do this place justice. Exceeded our expectations inmost every way. The pitcher of sangria was a highlight. The Ropa Viejo was probably the best we've had. Make reservations - it was packed on Saturday night.
Not our best visit to Victor’s. We try to come a couple times a year when we see shows. Service was slow, food was not hot. Our water was not refilled often and our empty glasses and plates sat longer than necessary for as many staff that passed by our table frequently. Didn’t complain but it was disappointing for sure. That said, the food was as amazingly delicious as always.
Everything was wonderful was a bit nervous as we had a show to make and have been reading online and hearing from people that sometimes the wait is extremely long even with the reservation. This was not the case at all we got seated within 10 minutes of arriving and yes it was very crowded however our reservation was honored with a very short wait we had an amazing waiter who won told that we were on a time schedule advised honestly we would not have time for the paella so we opted for other things will definitely go back when we have more time
appetizer (we had the collection of different ones) was very good but our meals were nothing special. I will admit, I am new to Cuban food, but I was expecting more flavour.
Took a long time for our drinks to arrive and it seemed that there were a lot of waiters walking around with drinks and food but didn't know who they belonged to.
Loved our experience at Victor’s Cafe! I was in Cuba 5 years ago, and the food here brought me right back!
Ceviche is amazing. Also loved the avocado and yucca chips appetizer.Best plantain chips anywhere. Reasonably priced wines and cocktails.
Victor's Cafe is located close to many Broadway theaters in the Times Square area and that, along with the fact that it is one of the few authentic Latino restaurants in the vicinity, gives it a big advantage for locals and tourists alike. Not much in the way of curb appeal but, once you step inside, you have all the trappings that make for a nice dining establishment: warm greeters, a convenient coat room, a lounge/bar area apart from the main dining area and ample wait service to get you in and out (especially if you are attending a show). Even when the electric went down for a few minutes the big sky window above kept the main room well lit. Our entrees were a nice salmon filet on the bed of vegetables and their signature ropa vieja (essentially pulled pork) with white rice and black beans; our side dish were an additional order of sauteed vegetables. The filet was of a good size but I could have enjoyed more of the pork (especially for the price!)--but everything was nicely prepared, presented and tasty. If you have room, try the guayabita dessert--excellent! I would caution those who are disabled: restrooms are downstairs and require turning a fairly tight corner. Otherwise, Victor's Cafe is a fun dining experience!
