An amazing find! Don’t be fooled by the name Cafe as this place is so much more. Victors is a fantastic restaurant, the food was authentic and outstanding, the staff were super friendly and the overall ambiance made our evening the best night we spent in New York.
Never disappoints. Great service. Can't go wrong with any menu choice
This was my first experience at Victor’s. We enjoyed all the dishes, the grilled snapper with corn was best. We loved the appetizer sampler and watermelon salad. The service was disappointing. The server needed to be flagged down for everything - from drinks to the check. We were a group of 7 and the table was big enough we were not cramped and the noise level aaa very comfortable. All in all, a very enjoyable experience!
I have been here at least a dozen times. Food is excellent, prices a bit high for what you get. What I have noticed over the past 6 months is that service is going down. Seems like less wait staff and thus they have more tables per waiter. The table next to us waited 45 minutes for a non rice based dinner and we had the same item that came out in 15 minutes. Not that busy of a night. Victor's has been our favorite place in the city but need to up their service game or risk losing regulars.
Food was very good. You started with the snapper appetizer, then had the salmon. Also had a skinnny mojito (which the server initially forgot to bring). Ambiance was a bit noisy. But I’d say it was worth going to.
Good Service. Good Food. Prices reasonable for market (NYC). Room for improvement to make it excellent but they have the traffic so it appears that there is no reason to go there. Too bad. Would go back. Portions not large but sufficient considering we ordered appetizers and dessert so that a large portion for entree was not missed.
Amazing! Next time we come to town, we will for sure be coming back here. Gorgeous space, great live music during brunch, and the best Cuban sandwiches I've had since forever. The pork was tender and flavorful-- everything was so fresh. The coffee was perfection, too. Our server was good, but the maître d was especially welcoming and helpful (we had luggage in tow that we needed help with).
Great fun, with live music, light and bright in sunroom, excellent food and service.
Lively and friendly Cuban band. Fun servers...not too attentive, but who would be in a hurry at Victor's? Such a happy atmosphere! Some people spontaneously dance while they waited for their tables.
Service was amazing and food was incredible! Used to live in Miami and this was right up there with their Cuban cuisine. Highly recommend!
This one of my favorite restaurants. I have only eaten there twice and I have fallen in love with this place. Great food and Great service
Best mojito ever! Food was amazing!! I keep coming back and have never been disappointed.
We were in the city for a Broadway show. My wife likes Victors from past visits. Besides the great food and service our waiter came up to the table and said that we didn't have to hurry at all since we told him that the shop was at 8. This was at 4:45! We did leave by 7 just to be able to walk off the great meal before sitting in the theater for a few hours. Three hats off to Filipe M our waiter. Super friendly service.
My wife, her friend, and I went this past Saturday afternoon for Victor's Brunch. We first had Mojitos to get into the Cuban mood. That was followed with the croquetas corral, papas rellenas, empanadas de pollo, and outside the brunch we added a sandwich Cubano, and a made to order Tortilla, of course we had Sangria to wash all of that down. Everything was superb, some items were a little too spicy for our Cuban taste, but still delicious. The service was impeccable, and the Churros for desert were made in heaven. We also enjoyed the live Cuban music. Victor's Cafe, after more than 50 years, more than 30 in the present location, remains the preeminent Cuban restaurant in NYC. The only bad part, was driving to Manhattan, but hey, you can't have everything in life.
Nice food, nice staff.
Super disappointing experience. We went before a show at Below 54. This restaurant came recommended as a decent option near Times Square. It is a pig with lipstick on: classic tourist trap. The food was ok. The service was one of the worst experiences of my life. I sat with empty wine and water glass, server never asked if I’d like to order another glass. Food took 40 minutes to be delivered and appetizers and main courses were all dropped at once. When we declined dessert, he literally tossed the check on or table without thanking us or asking how the experience was. Save your money and take a cab to midtown if you can.... would not recommend and will not return.
The wait to be seated on a Friday evening was not timely but was worth the wait.
Victor’s is a great spot right in the heart of the theatre district with fantastic authentic Cuban food. We came here for lunch and thoroughly enjoyed the food. Also some very well made cocktails and nice ambiance
Staff was very friendly and super helpful with the menu. We did lots of apps and salads and drinks. Everything was delish!! Would return and often!
Had dinner at Victors cafe prior to broadway show. My wife’s dinner came out cold and my fish dinner tasted like filet-O-fish.
Great atmosphere on arrival, but then things really quietened down. Music started at 10.30pm, but even this didn’t lift the atmosphere. Which was a shame.
The food was good, not fantastic.
Cocktails were excellent.
Service was excellent.
Reasonably priced for NYC.
Overall very good service. Guess my biggest complaint is what a complete ripoff the $14 mojitos are. I don’t mind paying extra for drinks in a big city but they are served in tall, narrow glasses and ice right to the very top of the glass probably netting you about 3-4 ounces of drink. Small point that probably sounds petty but kind of swayed my whole opinion about Victor’s.
If you like Latin food this is a great place.
This is our second time at Victor's and was enjoyed as much as the first time. Love the food there and the appetizer platter for two is great. I had never had churros for dessert and they were also perfect.
We were in NYC fro our anniversary and wanted and great restaurant with a different type of cuisine that we don't usually eat. Victors Cafe was awesome. We were going to the theater so it was very convenient and they were attentive to our need to get to the theater on time. Service was great food was very good and at a good price point. Restaurant was clean and they really had their systems down well. Would highly recommend if you looking for a taste of Havana,
Everything was perfect from apps through desert. Friendly and professional staff. Great timing between Angels shows!
Very good all around
Dinner before a show. The first question asked, and asked more than once was whether we were attending a show. They are attentive to that issue. The food was genuine Cuban, our server was terrific, the decor was very nice and the food was sensational. We would recommend Victor's to anyone. Quite a treat in Times Square.
My husband and I were vacationing in NYC and chose Victor’s for a mid afternoon meal. We were pleasantly surprised with the decor of the restaurant. Our waiter left something to be desired, but overall, we enjoyed our experience. Food was delicious.
Very disappointing. All five entrees were dry and/or bland. We had advised wait staff that we were going to the theater so returning the entrees and reordering would have been more detrimental to us than them. Our requests for some kind of sauce in an attempt to enhance the dishes were met with surprise and reluctance -- and then a thimbleful of au jus was delivered for the table; had to ask for a second one! The dining room was crowded, even at 5:30, and it was difficult to flag down our server to communicate requests, let alone express any concern about quality. Request for bar refill was not delivered at all.
Overall, a lackluster meal when we expected a far better dining experience for the prices.
Skirt stake was amazing!!!
We absolutely loved the cuisine, service and food. From the moment we were welcomed by the hostess to the wonderful waitstaff to the delicious cuisine, we were happy and satisfied to until the end.
Food was delicious. Decor beautiful. They were extremely attentive to 2 people in our party who are wheelchair bound. The attention was greatly appreciated.
FABULOUS ON ALL ACCOUNTS !!!!! GREAT STAFF !!! ALWAYS SERVICE WITH A SMILE
We went to victor’s before a matinee. Nice relaxed atmosphere, attentive service and great food. We had a leisurely meal and they never rushed us, and when we said we needed to get check b/c we were trying to make a show, they were quick and responsive.
Great ambiance and delicious food. The mojitos were to die for
Nice meal and good service at Victors despite a busy theater night. They did a good job of handling the reservations and the food was excellent. Recommend the roast pig and also the bronzino for dinner. Good tapas choices as well. We were sitting near the lounge and could hear the Latin trio playing. Was lots of fun.
perfect for pre/post theater lunch or dinner. Great creative Cuban food and delish cocktails. Service was fantastic and the place was packed.
The dinning experience was terrific; it was post-matinee for a friend's birthday and really fit the bill. We both had a wonderful time. The only problem was it was a little too noisy. I have been to places where I felt I had to leave; this was not the case, but the experience would have been perfect, if the noise level was a little lower.
Had a 6:30 pre theater reservation and was not seated until 7. When we were seated the waiter told us there were only 5 menu options that could be prepared on time for us.
