The cuisine at Victor’s includes the most delicious, authentic dishes combined with the restaurant’s exclusive creations that represent the evolution of Cuban cuisine. Signature dishes include Victor’s famous black bean soup, shredded beef (“Ropa Vieja”), and roast suckling pig (“Lechon”).
The restaurant itself is divided into three spacious dining rooms, accented with warm lighting, colorful Cuban art, tropical ceiling fans, and lofty sky-lit ceilings. Its Cuba Lounge is intimate and warm, featuring a tapas menu and a variety of Cuban cocktails such as Mojitos and Sangria.
The service was excellent. The food and drinks good. I thought however if your gonna charge 48.00 dollars for a seafood paella the seafood should at least have a lobster tail not a langostino.
Always a treat. I have gone there for years and it’s always a delightful experience. Try the “viejito”, a Mojito with aged rum. Delicioso!
Main course and appetizers were fresh and mouth-watering! Service was delivered with a personal touch and promptness. Highly recommend and will return again and again, as I have done so since my first visit many years ago.
Love Corn tamales not on menu which I used to have at old place on Columbus Ave. in the 70 ‘s!
You are one of my favorite restaurants. Music could be turned down a bit!
It was ok but didn't love it as much as we had in the past. The server was quite annoying, always pushing/asking about drinks. Shrimp tasted like iodine, brought one wrong dish, seemed to not understand some other requests. The space is lovely. Would try again but disappointing this time.
One of my favorite restaurants in New York City. I have never been disappointed with the food, cocktails, or service in the dozen times I’ve eaten here. Highly recommend.
Hadn’t been here in years but was feeling Cuban and had recalled this place was good. The only thing that was good was the Live music. It took nearly 15 minutes to get drinks, this is where restaurants make their money! Food was barely warm and quite bland, not the way I remember Cuban food. You’re paying for location. I’d suggest trying another restaurant.
Overpriced and disappointing. Has become a tourist trap. Our food was overpriced and soggy and tasteless. I was born in Havana and this is NOT Cuban food. Our maduros were also soggy and overcooked as was my Arroz Con Pollo. All in all, disappointing and not worth the exorbitant prices.
We presented at 5 for early dinner. place was empty, service was great so was food. got really busy around 630. would go back
Empanadas fantastic, Grilled branzino was fantastic and Juan Pablo is a great server.
Nice atmosphere but very noisy. Also bathrooms in basement!
Service was truly outstanding for a restaurant that isn’t expensive. Ceviche is a must. The traditionally pork dish was good too. It’s amazing how important service is in these reviews but that is what wins for these guys. Keep it up.
Pre-theater dinner right near the Winter Garden. Everything was great - delicious food, fabulous mojitos & awesome live Cuban band in the bar area.
Our waiter Juan was great. Fish dish my wife got was very good, my Riopa was not special even though it is the house specialty. The mandarin salad and empanadas were excellent.
food was not extraordinary. cost did not mirror food quality. portions too small even for luxury restaurant. service very good, atmosphere good as well.
Overall a delicious meal in an interesting atmosphere with great service!
Very good food, and the service was very good - considering it quite crowded and busy, being pre-theater, with an accompanying very energetic noise level. Great flan. We'd go again.
Our waiter was a little slow to get our food and beverages but it was ok.
Our family always enjoyed going to Victors Cafe. This was our first time back after a few years. What a disappointment. The food was bland and salty. They also raised the prices considerably. So now it is an overpriced tourist trap with subpar food. There are plenty of very good restaurants in the Theater District. We won't be back.
Great service. All Staff were attentive. Dinner was delicious.
Du semis gastro bien placé pour le nouvel an un peu cher
This restaurant is located in Times Square, therefore, their pricing needs to reflect that aspect. However, I have had better food served to me at other Times Square restaurants (not restaurant chains), and the pricing matches the quality of food, as well as the portion of food. The restaurant is nice, decor and ambiance matches, however, pricing is a little high for the food and the service was slow. Overall on a scale of 1 to 5 I would give it a high 3. Thanks.
This is our third trip to New York in 2019. We chose this restaurant each time because of the amazing food, excellent service and the authenticity. Way to go to all of the staff. Thank you for being so delicious! We’ve actually been sharing this restaurant treasure all over New York to others whom have not tried it.
I have been to Victors several times and this was a disappointing experience. I was looking to share a great experience with my family and was somewhat disappointed in the experience. We had a reservation for 5 And were put in a crowded room at a table that comfortably sits 4. Our reservation was at 6:30 and although we were not in a hurry, waited almost 45 minutes for appetizers and had to flag down our server for the remainder of our appetizers. Our server was very pleasant, but clearly frantic and covering too many tables. And as we were relatively low maintenance, didn’t get Much attention. We had to flag down for refills. The food was good, but a little dry - not up to the usual standards. The server did apologize for the delays and told us he would promise desert would not take 45 minutes. If this was my first visit to Victors it would be my last. Given that I was excited about sharing the experience with my family I was disappointed.
Coming from Miami, we were skeptical about the quality of Cuban food in NYC. However, given that Victors Cafe is a landmark in the city, and my father had fond memories of the original location, we decided to have dinner one night. Boy was that a mistake! It took over 45 min to get our appetizers and drinks and our main dishes arrived an hour and a half later, Cold! In fact, the table next to ours had to leave before getting their meal because they were late for a show next door!
Our waiter was sarcastic all night and even said out loud on our way out that “they (Victors Cafe) don’t care about complaints and reviews”.
They did, however, give us a free round of the worst Cuban coffee known to mankind, so I guess that’s something.
Long story short: it was quit literally the worst meal to date. Not worth the price. If you want real Cuban food for a great price, come to Miami.
Delicious food. Nice setting. Convenient location to theaters. All the food was yummy!
A 4:45 pm reservation for four of us was perfect for a 7 pm show of west side story at the Broadway theater a block away. Drinks, apps, entrees and desserts!
Stepping in to this restaurant is like stepping in to Cuba. It is not just a meal, it is an experience. Warm and inviting, good food, great service, fantastic drinks. We always have a great time. We’ve bee there for dinner and brunch, both such fun.
Ate here after the theater and loved it. Lovely atmosphere, service, food and cocktails. Steak with chimichurri, chicken enchiladas,, shrimp, fried plantains and flan were great!
We were asked to wait 20 mins past our reservation time when we had theatre tkts, then the hostess suggested I order my appetizer while standing at the crowded hostess station so it would be ready when we sat down- which for a family with food allergies isn’t really optimal. It was a fine meal but it was rushed and irritating.
Wonderful as usual!
We made a last minute trip to NY for a show and most places near the theater district were fully booked. We ended up at Victor's as they had an available table and overall it turned out to be a very pleasant meal. The place was packed and noisy, but the décor and ambiance were fun and the food and drinks were very good. Service was a bit erratic (our drink order was lost for a while) but wait staff was pleasant and polite. The biggest "con" was the price which was high considering the serving size but for an already expensive night at the theater it was worth it to have a reservation close by and food that was interesting and tasty.
Sent our parents for their 60th anniversary wkd. They had a wonderful time, loved the food and atmosphere. Thank you!
We booked as a pre - show (Broadway) dinner. Outstanding menu. Great service. Great food. Lovely ambiance. The regulars were known by name. I would love to return here. Don’t hesitate to dine here. You will not regret it.
We ordered a burger for my kids. After waiting for an absurd amount of time, we were told that they made a mistake and had to re-make it. We waited longer and when the burger finally came out it was nothing more than raw meat. I had to ask for it to be taken off the bill. We will not be going back.
We went there for XMas and had a very poor experience. Cold and tasteless food, very noisy and overall not pleasant.
From the start with birthday wishes at the front desk to the lively, gracious dining spaces, impeccable service and delicious food and Sangria we had a memorable special occasion dinner. We look forward to returning.
Always amazing! Look forward to going there every Christmas, this was our 5th year.
Food was good- portions were a bit smaller than expected in some cases.
I was dining alone, after seeing a show. The service was amazing, my waiter was very attentive, and the food was delicious.
