The food was excellent along with the service. We would definately eat there again.
Great food, the drinks were great too.
Excellent food and atmosphere. The prices are REALLY high for the kind of food and drink
Excellent food, just what you would expect from a classic Cuban restaurant, excellent, friendly service.
From start to finish a great experience. Have been many times, most recently with 6 people. My request for round table ✅ Prompt service to make a show curtain ✅ Replenished drinks & water✅ Great food✅✅ Overall great experience, guests all impressed happy and stuffed! Thank you!
Perfect! Excellent food, service and ambiance.
Great for celebrations. Great food, lively atmosphere with live music in the bar area. Our server was very knowledgeable, pleasant and had a very nice manner about him. The ladies room attendant was also great. I would definitely return. Also, there is parking across the street from the restaurant for people driving into the city.
Excellent experience in mid-town. Prices were moderate by NYC standards and our server, Armando, was personable and competent. The menu was interesting and the food was great. We will return on our next visit.
We enjoyed Victor's Café very much. The croqueta corral were excellent as were the papa rellena. For Dinner we had the Lechon, I was concerned it would be dry but it was moist and excellent!) Arroz con Pollo was very good, a nice portion. Ponle Ropa a la Vaca was excellent as well. For dessert we had both types of bunelos/churros, one with dipping sauces, the other with ice cream on top....both were excellent. Generally the portions on the meals were good. This isn't Versaille in Miami where they pile it on the plate, however they were sufficient portions. My husband got one of the specialty cocktails the El Fuerte and he loved it! Big plus for me, I drink a lot of water and the busboys were on top of refilling the water glasses, which I really appreciated.
Only two criticisms, one and the biggest is that the service was a bit off/slow. When we arrived it was not crowded at all and it took a long time for our server to make his way over to us. Once we discovered who our server was it was interesting that it took so long as he was literally just standing around the restaurant chatting it up with a bus boy and not in some kind of intense conversation. He was not very personable either, however he managed our table efficiently after that but there was no chit chat at all. We did have to waive him down once or twice for drink refills. Second criticism, there was no bread given to the table and it seems that they do not provide bread as no tables had bread. It would have been nice to have a little something ahead of the meal, however the appetizers came out in a timely manner and the dinners followed in an appropriate amount of time.
We would definitely return to Victor's.
Great as usual! The atmosphere is wonderful, the food is spectacular and the margarita's are amazing! We were greeted by a very nice host who quickly seated us. The waiter was so nice and extremely informative about preparation and the food in general. Great sense of humor, a huge asset to the organization in how he treated us and all his tables like we were the only ones he served. The noise level was one of excitement but never overpowering or too loud. The bathrooms were well maintained and clean! Five star experience top to bottom!
The food is always amazing. The service is ok, not outstanding.
First experience with Cuban food and it was amazing. Everything was great - from the appetizers to the dessert. We thought the drink prices were high but that being said our mojitos were amazing.
Right across the street from the August Wilson Theater so excellent location for pre-show dining.
Have dinner there every time I'm back in NYC. Been dining there since 1980...still fabulous!
Perfect for groups. We had such a great time
We found this dining gem when my husband and I went to New York last spring. It was such amazing authentic Cuban cuisine we had to return. With all the places to eat in New York City and all of the options we could have chosen something new. We did not, we ate here again in August 2019 and it was again absolutely fantastic food and service. Thank you to the owners and staff for being such a great place. When we return to New York it will definitely be our favorite go to!!!
Loved the cocktails, very comfortable seating, pleasant atmosphere.
Whether for small plates in the front bar or for a full meal in the back, we always enjoy our visits to Victor's. On our latest visit, we brought a multi-generational group of friends there and they were all thoroughly impressed by the food, atmosphere, and solicitous service. And all agreed the mojitos here are spectacular!
It was so nice. Real good food. The Paella was excellent. All were so friendly.
Food quality is inconsistent, been to Victor's many times, sometimes very good, other times just okay. Always expensive for what you get.
It’s an oasis! The food and the service is excellent and when I lost something and called them hours later about it, the staff went above and beyond searching for it. I highly recommend this wonderful place - it’s truly an oasis in that particularly busy part of the city too.
Have enjoyed dining at Victors for over 30 years. The finest in Cuban cuisine and attitude
Victor's Cafe was such a treat. It was not so busy because we went during off hours (~4pm). The very inside decor is lovely and very bright. We ordered two entrees- they both took ~40 minutes to come out. We were starving by the time the food came- even had to ask them if anything went wrong- so that would be my only complaint. The foot itself was delicious and carefully thought out. Not sure why it took forever to come out- there were only maybe ~4 other parties there.
Always always always love Victors!
We love taking new friends to Victor’s Cafe ... a great dinner for everyone! It’s always consistently good Cuban cuisine. We had theatre tickets that evening ... and our dinner was paced perfectly to make our show without any stress.
This was one of the best dinners I have ever had in my life! Totally delectable food, impeccable service, and a wonderful atmosphere. I cannot recommend it enough. My mom and I ate here before a Broadway show, and it was the best choice we could have made in the theatre district. My mom has celiac disease and therefore has to eat gluten free, and our server knew immediately how to help her navigate the menu for options that would work for her. (For my fellow gf folks and family members of gf folks, he even knew that soy sauce has gluten in it—that's the level of in-the-know we're talking about!) Our mojitos, summer salad, and entrees were absolutely perfect, and even the bathroom was worth raving about. I can't say enough about Victor's Cafe; we will definitely be back!
Food was good but the tables are so close together that when the waiter served the people next to me who were jammed in a corner, brushed my head a couple of times.
Always a taste sensation. Our service was exceptional, as was the food. Thank you!
Went for restaurant week. Good food, eh service
Was after theatre so late. We had the assortment of classic Cuban appetizers for two, which was excellent. Staff was very polite and attentive.
Pleasant atmosphere very good food and very friendly staff. No wonder my wife and I have been dining here for so many years.
First went to Victor's years ago. The food was as delicious as in the past and the portions were very generous, especially considering it was restaurant week and the fixed price menu was so inexpensive. The serving staff was very attentive and helpful.
my waiter was great but unfortunately I was cut off as I was walking by a waiter and he didn’t have the decency to apologize and what made it worse was he look right at me with arrogance and simply looked away. Quick class on respect is need for this gentleman.
It was my birthday, which I stated in my reservation. I flu from Miami to NYC and choose this restaurant to celebrate. Even though they new about my Birthday, the reservation was done in advance, and the restaurant wasn’t full at the time, they stuck us in a small table in the middle of the hall. Worst location ever! And also I paid for my happy birthday dessert, which it’s usually cover by any decent restaurant
service was very good and the food for restaurant week.
Victors is our go-to for a great meal before we see a Broadway show.
Outstanding Cuban cuisine! The staff was very helpful in guiding our menu choices to produce the best possible experience. And we were able to get out quickly to make our Broadway show. Memorable experience-thanks!
Amazing dining experience from beginning to end! Great Hostess, wait staff, food everything. I have been several times but I brought three friends who have never been and everyone was blown away by the attention and service we received. It was a packed restaurant and we felt like we were the only ones there by their excellent service and food! Highly recommend!
Delicious meal but side orders are way too expensive. A tinyyyy portion of thinly sliced platanos Maduros for $9.
Post Theater Bday dinner for my wife. We LOVE VICTORS. Sangria is the BEST!
