Second time coming here and I love the food and service!
The food was excellent! If you love seafood the snapper ceviche is excellent. We loved it so much we order a second one for appetizer.
The entrees were AMAZING. We were not disappointed with anything we ordered.
Excellent venue for either pre or post theater. Excellent choices of entrees and libations. Sangria always pleases!!
The waitress “forgot “ to seat us even though we had reservations and stood exactly where we were told. Two other couples were seated at nice tables and the we were squeezed into a tiny place right in the door way which I don’t think was actually a seat for the restaurant. Told them it was my birthday when I made the reservations. Waiter mixed up our tickets that we identified and all has to be fixed by me calling and being on hold forever to correct the charge
Food and drinks were delicious. Service was prompt - we told them we had reservations for a show. They accommodated us with time to spare and without making us feel rushed. I would highly recommend Victor’s cafe (and already have!)
Delighted to find this place close to our Broadway show. Fish, pork & steak were all excellent along with dessert. Quiet enough for conversation & attentive staff.
Food was great, service was good and great recommendations, live band was good and restroom clean.
The Food and the ambience was excellent. I will return again in the near future
A great find. Excellent food and attentive but not overbearing service. I’ll be back again.
Fun environment, great service. I had a great time and the servers were very attentive and made great recommendations. The food was amazing.
Great place, easy going, beautiful interior, great food.
Fabulous food. Great ambiance! Fantastic Cuban appetizers. I would come back to this restaurant again and again. I love the live music. So fun!
Overall great service. You can tell the staff is very well trained. One waiter, however, did lack a bit of common sense at the beginning, seemingly impatient, and ignored a question from a member of our table. Obviously when it was time to pay the bill (and the tip), he suddenly became extra nice.
The food was delicious and the drinks were amazing! We were seated right on time. The service was excellent and the servers went out of their way to take care of us. We certainly got our money's worth. this is definitely a do over.
Great place within walking distance of our theater. Food was great and our waiter very very helpful in choosing our entree’s. Celiac friendly. Would definitely highly recommend!
I chose this place because I wanted Cuban food and didn’t want to eat at a chain that was also in the theater district. So glad I did. A bit pricey BUT you get the service and quality that you pay for, so I cannot complain. My cousin had salmon, and I had a dish with two kinds of ropa: grits and vaca....so delicious! If you are looking for a place that will give you giant portions of mediocre food, this is not your place. If you are looking for a place that has class from the minute you arrive and get addressed by your name, a lovely coat check lady who opens your coat to help you into it, and a waiter who reminds you to try the beans on your rice because it tastes sooo good, then this is the place. Caring, friendly staff, wonderful food with fresh ingredients, food that is obviously cooked to order and NOT reheated for you, cocktails that make you wish the glasses were bigger (but probably good that they aren’t), and a nice unpretentious vibe. And what is that amazing smell coming out of the aromatherapy dispenser downstairs in the hallway by the bathrooms??? Even the bathroom is great! Five stars!!
The food is delicious but for the price, the portions are extremely small.
The service was fabulous as they took special care to make sure we made a 7:30 curtain across the street. The food was just ok. Nothing wrong but nothing special. The paella Mariscos rice was tasty but pasty. We were seated at a table near the waiter service bar with a view of the kitchen every time they opened the door. This was distracting. The restaurant wasn’t crowded - in my mind it should be the table seated last. I hadn’t been here in a few years and probably would go back again for convenience not for real dining.
The food and the service were excellent. The waiter was very helpful about suggestions from the menu. We had Ceviche de Pargo and Salpicon de Mariscos to start
Both of us had Vaca Frita al Mojo Agrio with a side dish of Maduros followed by
Always great! I’ve eaten here many times. Standards are still high!
Fabulous, we were especially impressed with our water pourer! Lol crazy reach and long beautiful pours with no spill! Food and ambiance was incredible.
Visiting NY from Houston, TX I had to stop and had some Cuban food at Victor's Cafe, the food was as good as I remember. We meet some friends there that we haven't seen in a long time (years) so it was supposed to be an epic time! Our waiter just ruined it from the get go, My friend asked what was the fruit mojito of the day and he said passion fruit, to what we both replay we can have that fruit, please do a skinny mojito for both. He brought the Passion fruit mojito like we never said a word, even told him I am diabetic so I was going to have the skinny. But you will think that is common, he didn't hear or remember, mistake happens, etc. But what he does next was unacceptable, made us very uncomfortable and plain rude. I wanted to leave right then, because if you wait tables you need to be pleasant, you represent the restaurant and more so a group of adults 50+ that treated him nice so no reason for him to stare at us with such a hate look on his face for over 3 mins and insisting we order the passion fruit mojito!!! at the end I told him to leave it, and bring the correct one. but honestly he made us feel very uncomfortable and he didn't stop there. We requested another waiter but no such a thing happened. This waiter was slamming our food and drinks on the table!!!. I was really bother by this, needless to say it took away from a real happy occasion. Food was good as I remember, services of that waiter was -5 our of 5, hostess was great and very pretty lady, so my rating is on that waiter bc he ruined our special moment not able to recreate any time soon as we live in Houston. Honestly it sucked and they should have changed our waiter as soon as we complained. He really looked like he needed medication.
Delicious Cuban cuisine. Hostesses can be a little scatterbrained at times. But don't let them be your takeway from the place. Food and drinks are very good.
Always so accompanying. Some of our party were late but we were able to be seated promptly as they arrived. Thanks!
The shining star at Victor's Cafe is definitely the waitstaff! They were absolutely wonderful. There were a few errors with food and drinks but they took care of it right away with smiles and the intention that we should have a great dinner. The decor is lively bright and fun, it transports you to a place far away (not dead of winter in NYC). The food is delicious, albeit a little pricey for relatively simple Latin food. Classic though. So classic and so yummy. Definitely recommend!
Go to place when on NYC. Great food, fabulous service
Very noisy and chaotic feeling.
Excellent place, food was great. The ladies at the front desk are very polite and friendly. I was late for my reservation but after a while they got me a table. Will go back in a heart beat.
Never disappointed with the food or the service this is one of my favorite places to eat we’re going to see a show on Broadway
The food, service and ambience are always exceptional.
A group of five of us had dinner there for Valentine's Day. All five of us were delighted with Victor's and can't wait to return. We had salmon, red snapper and a vegetable melange that were delicious and plentiful. White wine sangria was the best I have ever had. The ambiance is festive with colorful murals, plants on the ceiling and ceiling fans reminiscent of Cuba. While it can be noisy in some parts of the restaurant, we were seated in the back where the noise level was more moderate. They gave us complimentary mimosas as well!
Great everything!! The price is a bit much but should be expected.
Victor’s was very busy on a Valentine’s Day Friday night. However, the food and service were very good, and we never felt rushed. I always make a point to have dinner at Victor’s Cafe when I visit New York, and tonight’s visit justify’s that policy. The food is that good! I’ll be back on my next visit!
This was my third visit to Victor’s and it was excellent. Hubby and I came for Valentine’s Day. Service was great and food was delicious. I got Red Snapper and was surprised it was so good. The rice and beans were so flavorful. The only thing that was kinda meh was the Tres Leches dessert. I wasn’t too impressed with that. But everything else was incredible. Highly recommend.
Victor’s works well for groups. This would be our third time coming here after theatre and they easily managed our group of 7 with a banquette corner and chairs. We ordered two bottles of wine and some cocktails, salads and entrees. Branzino, salmon, veggie paella and shrimp dishes were all good. The rice and beans that come with the entrees were perfectly prepared. The two desserts we ordered were also on par. That said, we felt in general that the service should have been better and overall for value the restaurant only average.
The appetizers were amazing but the entrees were a bit dry. Service was also on the slow side.
Although had a Confirmed reservation had to wait over 15 minutes passed the reservation time to be seated!!
The place was very packed & vibrant, a bit hard to have a conversation!!
The food and service was as usual very good!!!
Going to victors for over 30 years. Always exceptional customer service.
Good food musics and service was great
Enjoy and love Victor!s each and every time we dine there.
