We celebrated my birthday. I had the Chocolate Tea experience, but requested the vegetarian option for the savories. Omg! I LOVED LOVED LOVED the savories!!! If I could order seconds of that plate I would. As wonderful as the sweets were, my friends and I were REALLY enjoying the savories. We couldn’t stop talking about them whole time.

For the cost of the afternoon tea, a plate of 5 TINY sandwiches, a tiny shotglass of soup and a few sweets, not worth it the cost. The scones were cold, not even warm. I can't recommend anyone going for the afternoon tea. No value for the $49.00 per person.

Service was fantastic but the ambience is lacklustre. No music was playing. And there are no windows so they need to fill the white walls with colour, photos, paintings (there are beautiful paintings everywhere else in the hotel). This dining room felt like a "work in progress"

Some child/tween was at a table beside us unsupervised and was watching videos on her phone without ear buds. The noise was distracting and annoying. The server should have stopped her. Thankfully she left sooner than later. Still. King Eddy dining room as a baby sitter. What are people thinking.

We decided to do a family brunch at the Victoria restaurant. The food was tasty, the service was excellent (the wait staff were great p, they went the extra mile). The only thing that could of been better was to gave more dishes available (seafood maybe). The breakfast side was great.

Been coming here for years. Sadly, the shrimp seem to get smaller every time. It's a good buffet in a stunning room but a little overpriced. Nice for occasions like Mothers Day.

Second visit to Victoria's restaurant, the food is always fantastic. The service is bit slower and sometimes leave us behind. I guess this is because they are busy? Anyways, if you never been there, at least try one time. It is worth it.

I had asked a British-Canadian friend for a suggestion regarding afternoon tea. His family enjoys Victoria's at the King Eddy the most for classic afternoon tea, fair price and quiet, calm setting. The restaurant and the hotel itself is centrally located to Toronto's main business district and historic old Toronto.

There's a limited choice of tea but they're all very good. It's very good value for money, and overall I would recommend it to friends and I have! I went solo, after a friend cancelled but whether alone, a friend or a group or friends they're very accommodating. I'll return again!

Most tea places offer additional plates of sandwiches for no extra price. King Eddy doesn't do this.. Its 35 dollars per person... the tea was nice... but I left completely starving. We got per person 2 small scones, and 3 finger sandwiches.. Not a lot of food! Would NOT go back!

Everything was delicious, most notably the beef wellington, white wine steamed mussle, and tiramisu. Loved their coffee too. Our stomachs were happily full and sated.

We also enjoyed wonderful music performed by harpist Liane James.

The only down note was our server wasnt happy with his standard tip. No thank you no eye contact after....

Oh well, we had a swell time.

All food items were made in house and very fresh - standouts were the berry compote and scones (and I don't usually like scones). It's a lovely spot for tea and we had fun smelling the various teas from the 2 sample boxes.

Our server was quite knowledgeable and personable but the pacing of his service was a bit off rhythm to our party that day, to the point where 3 out of 5 party members noticed.

The quality of the Sunday brunch has diminished over the last few years. There used to be fresh oysters and crab claws, as well as lobster. Not any more. I guess it is just the sign of the economic times. The beef wellington is still as good as it used to be.

Fantastic Sunday brunch. We enjoyed thoroughly our first visit to the King Edward. A good selection of hot items including their signature Beef Wellington, breakfast standards including waffles and Eggs Benedict. Cold items and desserts were not the standard which made it all that more wonderful. We agreed we must definitely do again. The harpist was a lovely touch.

Four of us went for afternoon tea on a Saturday, this was our second visit. They had a winter menu as apparently they change the afternoon tea menu each season. The Omni King Edward afternoon tea was outstanding and we all preferred it to the Toronto Fairmont Royal York Library Bar afternoon tea.

Overall, High Tea met my expectations and needs (something fun and different to do with my home for reading week step-daughter). The hostess wasn't friendly (almost rude). Our server (Dey) was lovely, enthusiastic and attentive. There are 24 loose leaf teas to choose from. The finger sandwiches are dainty and pretty, the scones were fresh and the pastries were sweet and varied. Unfortunately, I miss the days when tea service was a production, very formal and elegant by today's new standards. I have to accept that the service and experience has changed from when my mother took me to tea at the King Edward or the Royal York. I miss the crumpet and fruit compote courses. Oh well, we had a lovely time and will return because we enjoy tea service and high quality choices are limited. For less formal and expensive options you will need to venture to Burlington's Serendipity Tea House or Markham's Old Curiosity Tea Shoppe.

Was super excited to visit for my daughters 23rd bday. We were the firsts guest to arrive for the 1:30pm seating . Our enthusiasm for the tea weaned when the hostess led us to sit beside a beam in the middle of the restaurant. It totally obstructed the view of the restaurant. I felt so claustrophobic I kindly asked the hostess to move us to another table. That set the tone for the rest of the visit.

The Winter tea was good, but service was mediocre. Having attend high tea in several high end establishments all over the world. I would not recommend this experience for anyone else.

Set up this reservation to take my mom out as a late Christmas gift. This is not an inexpensive date but she is worth it and I knew the experience would be lovely. The restaurant is bright and clean and quite nice. Service was good but not outstanding. Tea and food was delicious but this is for if you reaaallly want to be fancy. Portions are small but they do fill you up!

The major drawback was that someone had planned a 5 year old's birthday party for the same time. Not only did it seem inappropriate to have a party for that age range at some high-end restaurant - they gave the children NOISE MAKERS! After obvious complaints, the noise makers were removed but the party carried on with little kids free to roam with many parents joining the party throughout our meal.

Our server informed us the party was offered a private room but chose not to take the restaurant up on that. They were also offered to be seated in the lobby adjacent but dismissed that. Obviously the parents lack a bit of concern for the usual quiet "ladies who lunch" crowd but really I don't think the King Edward should book children's parties UNLESS they are in the separate party room.

I will recommend this place but maybe ask if there are any "parties" booked.

I was really surprised and did not feel that adding and automatic tip was appropriate for a table of 2 for High Tea. I did intend to tip but feel that it should be at my discretion. I understand an automatic tip for a large gathering but we were 2 with 1 bill.

Three of us met recently for an 8 a.m. business breakfast meeting at Victoria's. While it is a large room, tables are positioned far enough from each other to allow for business conversations without having to speak in low tones when discussing sensitive matters. Food is priced at the high end, but is well worth it and it is done to specific order. The egg white omelette was superb and a request for well done, crispy bacon was perfect. Coffee, by restaurant standards, was very good and service was discrete but attentive. We use this restaurant for all our downtown meetings.
