Victoria Gastro Pub
This place has gone downhill fast. It used to be really busy and deservedly so because the food was good and service was professional. No longer: the service was very brusque and hurried and not very friendly. We didn’t get water, didn’t have time to look over the menu, etc. When we were eating our appetizer, the main course came so now we had an appetizer to finish while our food was getting cold. At the end, we got the bill before even finishing and the waiter hovered to get us out. I could understand that if the place was really busy but it wasn’t half full (on a Saturday night....) so I don’t get the rush.
The food was not very good either. Cold (see above) and pretty tasteless. Carbonara sauce was watery and disappointing. Same with the Porkloin. Certainly not worth $18 and $25.
This was our last visit. Too bad but I predict it won’t be long before the place folds. Even after dinner, the bar which used to be very busy was half empty.
Waiter seemed a little overwhelmed but did a good job for the most part. Lobster sandwich was fantastic!
best meal my wife and I have ever eaten and service was outstanding
We recently celebrated our engagement with family. The food was excellent and the service was amazing! Most in our party were new to Victoria’s and all left very happy!
It took a long time for our party of three to get our drinks; the appetizers arrived first... Our waitress visited our table twice: to take orders. Fearing she would disappear again, I gave my credit card to her as she presented the check. Food overall was way too salty and quality and portions inappropriately priced.
My first time was a good one. We went for a late lunch on a Saturday, we were hoping to get brunch but it was after just after 2 pm. All of us had entree salads and everyone thought they were good. I would have given 5 for food but we only had salads so 4 it is.
Food and cocktail selection was very limited. Neither of us really enjoyed what ordered.
Great as always! The duck fat fries are incredible and service was great. Always nice to have something a little unique in the middle of suburbia. Gets a little noisy sometimes, due to a nice sized and well-attended bar. But the noise is manageable and pleasant.
Valentine’s Day is a nightmare for restaurant servers. The service at the Gastro Pub was friendly and enthusiastic. I wish there were healthier options for food but it is a pub after all.
As always, the food was great, the service was great. It keeps bringing us back.
This place was excellent, Roy was a great waiter. He actually gave a real opinion on the food when we asked about a couple of plates. I hate when I hear that everything is good, or both options are excellent. He added real value to his service. The desert was also amazing and so were the options from the beer list. If you haven't tried the duck fries yet make sure you add them to your burger or mussels.
Excellent food and selection of draft beers. Service was a little slow and it was a little loud but that may have been because it was very busy on Valentine's Day when we went.
Was told the manager would stop by to see us for our anniversary and give us a gift certificate but that never happened. Otherwise the service was good. Our sever was excellent!
We both had the daily special and it was served very nicely
And both meal were great
A local favorite!
I will begin with the good. My husband ordered the Grilled Corn Elotes for his appetizer and LOVED them (once her figured out how to eat them!!). For his dinner, he wanted to order the Steak and Frites, but they didn't have steak (our reservations were for 4:30 PM...out of steak?). So instead, he ordered Molasses Brined Pork Tenderloin . He really enjoyed that a lot!!! I however, ordered the Jumbo Lump Crabcake and hoped that it would be good. It had no flavor at all and neither did anything else on my plate except for the Sauce Imperial. I ate the root vegetables from my husbands dinner for some flavor. I did order dessert (it was my birthday dinner) ...the Rasberry and Lemon Trifle and completely enjoyed that! I hesitated writing this to you because our son is an executive chef in NY and I don't like to hurt feelings but really...no flavor at all. Sorry
In all the years that I have been eating here, I have yet to have a bad experience. I live in Virginia, but when I am in the area, I make it a point to stop in for lunch or dinner. I had the smoked cured club this visit, and it was fantastic, and of course the duck fat fries are a must.
One of my favorite restaurants in the entire region.
Everyone in our party of 8 thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience! Our food was outstanding -delicious! The appetizer of brussel sprouts were ao good that I could have made a meal of them! Our drinks were perfect! Our waitress Rachel provided excellent service and had a wonderful sense of humor with our crowd. She definitely enhanced our great time! Thank you Victoria’s!
Food was awesome !
First visit. Overall Good. Restaurant was very busy and our reservation was delayed. The staff handled it well and kept things moving.
Everything great overall, but drinks did not arrive until after the food.
Great food always!! Tia gave us Great Attentive and Friendly Service!!!
Service was great but heir brunch menus needs some updating. Nothing special about it.
The food was wonderful with one exception, it was luke warm. I had the mushroom rosti that was really delicious howver the roasted mushrooms, gruyere cheese and eggs lost something when served tepid.
Service was a little slow, but we had a party of 9 on a weekend during restaurant week, so understandable
Fun atmosphere with great service and the food was wonderful.
They are able to cater to any dietary needs.
All was good!
Server seemed disengaged but the rest of the experience was great.
A great venue with good food and value. The menu has alot of variety as well
Cannot say enough about our server, Tia. She was wonderful.
We went for our daughter’s soccer fundraiser but have been before. Victoria’s never disappoints! The food, service and ambiance is always amazing!
Food overall was WAY over salted. Fish and chips were salted to the point of being inedible.
We were a group of 3 ladies and overall the food was fine just not spectacular. I went in expecting to be wowed by the duck fat fries and aioli and was underwhelmed. The salmon rosti was okay but not something I would return for again.
Service was meh. Our server Nick came to our table 3 times and never introduced himself. I had to ask his name. He didn't inquire if it was our first visit (it was) in order to guide us through the menu and recommendations.
Overall, it wasn't a bad visit but I'm not likely to return any time soon.
Food was awesome, liked the timing off apps and entree. Seating was tighter than I like. Overall great experience. Brussels Sprouts incredible!! Will go back soon
We were seated immediately and our server attended us right away. She was expedient with taking and delivering orders and checked in on us with just the right frequency. We all ordered the angus burgers and they came out just as we ordered (perfect temp). They were so tasty! We will be back!
The food was just ok (wagyu burger was dull and daughter’s pasta tasted stale, but son’s shrimp carbonara was good), in spite of hearing great things from other people. The beer I had (chocolate stout) was meh. Our server was good and attentive. It was busy on Friday evening, as expected. We may or may not go again...
Quick New Year business lunch - as always, excellent. Professional service, knowledgeable server, efficient kitchen, and terrific food.
Service was prompt and polite, drinks well done. Would like the menu to offer more healthy options. Almost everything on the menu was fried. Also would like to see more fish options other than shell fish since I am allergic to shellfish.
Outstanding service on New Year's eve notwithstanding a full restaurant with several large tables. High marks for the shrimp and steak special.
