What Insiders Are Saying
Vic’s in Noho is a restaurant to keep in your back pocket for when you need something easy and good.
Great spot for brunch with friends! The inviting ambiance and creative menu options made for a delicious brunch!
I am a regular at their sister restaurant Shuka (also excellent). Shuka had no availability this past Saturday night for a six top so they got me a six top table at Vic's. Great Cauliflower, Brussel Sprouts, Pizza and (believe it or not) Mackerel. It was extremely creative/innovative. Not like any Mackerel I've ever eaten. We also had the carrots and pettifor cookies for dessert.
Service was great. We didn't feel rushed. Wine selection was also fantastic....two great bottles. Food was authentic. Pizza was "off of the charts" and we had a terrific table. Thank you to Hanna and Hanna from Shuka for sending us to Vics.
Great drinks and food. Service was nice too. Live in the hood and recently just discovered this gem.
I was very disappointed with the management. I had called to make a reservation for 7 people at 8pm and to cancel a reservation that I had made for the next night. Unfortunately I did not get the name of the person to whom I was talking. When we called the restaurant to say we would be about 5 minutes late I was told there was no reservation in my name. Finally after going back and forth the manager came on the line and said he would honor our reservation. When we got there he said to wait in the bar. When we got to our table our waiter was ok but seemed impatient and disinterested. Very disappointed in service and management. Food and ambiance were very good
Chad at the front desk was absolute perfection, and the food was so incredible, I can’t wait to return!
Late lunch post-Christmas was fantastic. The restaurant was decked out beautifully for Christmas; decorations were outstanding. Service was professional and helpful. We ordered a pasta dish, a pizza, and an entree which were all great. The chicken entree was good but it would have been great if we had a choice of dark meat vs white breast meat...but I understand that is a personal choice. Pasta with Italian bacon was superb. The pizza was outstanding; incredible crust which reminded me of our recent trip to Italy. No bread was served before our meal, which personally I was ok with but one person in our party would have liked. Overall a fabulous experience, and we would go back again.
Good experience but service poor.
Food was mediocre. Appetizers were fantastic but entrees were just so so
We were early and fewer then expected. NO PROBLEM! Host was delightful and the handoff to the wait staff was flawless. No rush. Wine was okay but the Brussels sprout and onion apps were off the yummy chart. Everyone raves about their Pasta dishes and the chicken dinner was also excellent. Second time here and was not disappointed.
The apps we're pretty good but our entrees were really not very tasty - service was tourist level and no better. I'd steer clear.
Vic's has been in the area for over two years but has recently come into its own. The one word that stands out is "flavor." The food is extremely flavorful, with no ingredients or side dishes that are unworthy. The chef has a particularly good touch with vegetables, which she apparently sources from the Greenmarkets and also from local and regional farms. For example, the roasted carrots are supernal--cooked almost to caramelized tenderness, but still with a bit of snap, and wonderfully flavored with fresh dill and capers. Ditto for the roasted Brussels sprouts, which have been turned into charred blooms, roasted to perfection. The signature dish is a very high end "onion rings" composed of triangular slices of sweet onions, delicately breaded and fried to a very light crispness, then doused in a dusting of parmesan cheese and fresh oregano, with a parson diving sauce.
The main courses--pastas, pizza, and various meat and fish--are equally imaginative, with the chef using a variety of fresh herb in just the right situation to add hints of flavor that energize without overwhelming.
The room is large and like the old stable it once was, with white-washed brick walls and barn-like beams, with a smaller room a the back and open kitchen. Lately it has been fun and lively, bu tit never feels crowded, with ample space between tables. The service is personable, efficient, friendly, and never officious. it is now getting a bit hard to secure a table at peak times--no wonder!
Had 830 reservation didn’t get seated until 915.
Wonderful service in a beautiful and festive setting.
Food was really nice- unfortunately the cauliflower was very salty so had to send it back, but everything else was delicious and we’ll prepared.
We enjoyed it.
We had a fabulous meal with excellent service. All the components of our dinner experience were exceptional, including attentiveness to our schedule (we had tickets to a show at 7:30). Beautiful space. Can't say enough about the quality of the meal: we tried something new at the recommendation of the waiter and it was superb.
I would definitely go back. The service was great and the food was delicious. I had the cacio e Pepe and my friend got the spaghetti, which comes with clams. I would probably order the spaghetti next time but that’s just my personal preference! The women’s bathroom was also really cute with pink flamingo walls!
Noise level took over the experience of dining
I went with my family (2 children 12 and 16), and it was a fit for all of us. The food and service was great, and the menu was perfect. The ambiance was warm and inviting.
Another fabulous dinner at Vic’s! Thank you Chef Hillary!
A+ all around. Especially the hostess, Lillian.
Friendly knowledgeable bartender, welcoming atmosphere. Fun & festive, friendly staff, great food. Those brussel sprouts were to die for!!!
The place is beautiful - the service excellent but the food is unusual - unique combinations of things - not for a plain or picky eater. Big on fennel - chili’s and cheeses. If that’s your thing - check it out!
Vic’s is a go-to for us. The food is always delicious and the service was amazing this time. Our server brought a menorah to the table so we could light Chanukah candles (otherwise one of us was going to miss lighting candles that night). The chef also came over to say hi and thank us for celebrating Chanukah there. You don’t see this kind of customer service much anymore. It was above any of our expectations.
The food here is sooo tasty! And super reasonable. The place was decorated for christmas so it was super cute. All of my friends thanked me for picking such a cute place, I will absolutely be back!
We had a great brunch. The Bloody Marys are fantastic
loved this restaurant have been here many times food is delicious and love the spices they use , we had heirloom carrots and roasted cauliflower both great and tuna and chicken for entrees also delicious service was great as we were going to public theatre and we were out in time never feeling rushed , highly recommend vic’s anytime and perfect if going to the public theatre
We were a group of six and were seated comfortably near the bustling kitchen, which was fine. It was possible to talk there, but there was a buzz in the main dining area. The first course vegetables were terrific, particularly the carrots and Brussels sprouts. I had vegetarian tortellini in a horseradish flavored broth that was well prepared, and my friends were very happy with the fish entrees they ordered. I look forward to going back!
It’s always great! Love Hilary Sterling!
The food here is always INSANELY good, and the service spectacular
We loved the atmosphere - and the food was fresh and yummy!!
One of the best meals I've had in NYC. The food was inspired, lovely interior and amazing service! I will be making it my local haunt.
Great place. I try and get here as much as possible. Food is delicious, and service is terrific, you never feel rushed no matter how crowded it gets. Very close to The Public Theatre and NYU.
We had a surprise birthday brunch here and everything worked out beautifully. The menu was personalized which was a very nice touch, the food was amazing, especially the ricotta pancakes, the best I have ever had. The staff was very pleasant and attentive. We will definitely be back
Limited menu but modern and delicious choices. Loved the onion appetizer. Great service also. Gave us complimentary dessert since we had a little wait to get seated and had a drink that was not cold enough.
i LOVE Vic's -- everything is so good & the service is the greatest. Please never take the cacio e pepe off the menu!
Always a great meal at Vics - everything was amazing, including the food and the service!
Great food and a warm, friendly staff! I had lunch there twice this week, and I can't wait to go back!
Great food! The Cacio e pepe is awesome! The veggies are all interesting and worth trying. Great service, friendly staff, great ambiance. Not too loud.
Food is great. Not the usual Italian fare.
The food was really good as well as the service! We had the chicken dish and is was delicious and very plentiful. We also had a few of the appetizers and they to were delicious. We would definitely go back.
