In October 2014, partners Victoria Freeman, Marc Meyer and Chris Paraskevaides (Cookshop, Hundred Acres) introduce diners to Vic's on Great Jones Street in NoHo. Vic's resides in the re-imagined former space of Five Points, the restaurant that Freeman, Meyer and Paraskevaides opened together in 1999. After 15 years, the restaurateurs decided to renovate the space and the result--Vic's--is an entirely new establishment. Chef Hillary Sterling (A Voce, Lupa) presides over Vic's locally sourced Italian dishes, including house made pastas and pizzas (made with New York State flour) and market-driven plates of antipasti and entrées. Vic's is open 7-days a week.

Vic's Ratings and Reviews
The food is terrific but our service experience cast a bit of a pall over our meal. When we arrived at 6:20 for our 6:30 reso, I notified the Maitre d' that we had an 8:00 curtain. Either he never passed this along to our server or she didn't care. Our service was so slow -- and the server so snotty -- that one of us had to have half her meal packaged up to take with, since our second course didn't arrive until 7:40! If you have a deadline, be repetitively clear about it so this doesn't happy to you.
Great spot downtown......we were sat in the back dining room by the open kitchen which was much nicer than being in the noisier dining room.
The pizzas were fantastic, as were all the veg sides (brussels sprouts w/ horseradish; roasted carrots w/ dill; sunchokes w/ herb yogurt!!!)........
Mains were pastas (huge portions)....mackerel w/ beets and harissa...off the charts......
Great wines by the glass at reasonable prices.......and amazing desserts.
Service was friendly and knowledgable (Sam).
Loved everything about this off the beaten path restaurant. Can't wait to go back!
I had a lovely dining experience at Vic's. I was very excited to try their Cacio e Pepe, and it was everything I was hoping for. The waitress even topped us off with a little extra wine and put a candle on my dessert when she found out we were celebrating my birthday. I hate when restaurants have people sing, and this was a subtle and lovely way for them to show they care about their customers. I will be back for sure!
I went here on Wednesday for a get together with a group of friends & we had a great time. There there was something for everyone! We ordered a few of the vegetable starters & a salad to start with, all of which were delicious (kale was very good). Then 2 of us had entrees (chicken looked huge) & 2 of us had small portions of pasta ("purse" filled pasta was yummy). Our server was helpful, but the place was busy, so we didn't have his attention to reorder glasses of wine often enough. This place is in an easy location & I will definitely be returning.
We waited 20 mins for our reservation. ANother 20 mins for our waiter after being seated. We got the wrong drink order which he corrected and said we wouldn’t be charged for the wrong drink. After ordering appetizers he came back 20 mins later to take our order only to be told that 2 items we wanted were no longer available. Then he asked us what we wanted for appetizers after having ordered 20 mins ago. Appetizers showed up 30 mins after. Food was fine no issues. We were then charged for the drink we didn’t order and had to have the bill corrected. I’ve been to Vic’s many times but was very disappointed this time around.
The food is amazing and why I came back. Pasta creamy and al dente...chicken flavorful and juicy. The standout the second time was the cocktails. Great show to watch our mixologist put a custom drink together and tasted great. Drink slowly. Atmosphere on a Friday night is like being at nice downton afterwork event. Atmosphere on a Sunday is quiet and intimate. I like both.
I could go on and on. The food is simply delicious! It would be criminal to dine here and not try the Crispy Sweet Onions. The farinata is a cheesy dream. The borsa, oh the lovely borsa!
Honey semifreddo, I worship thee. (That dessert was snarfed by our group.)
We sat in the back where it is a little quieter and got to watch chef Hillary Sterling work the pass-through.
Noteworthy as well are the friendly and skilled bartenders. Craft cocktails, yes!
We really enjoyed Sunday brunch at Vic's. The food was delicious (don't miss the Calabrian Chile Chicken or the Ricotta Pancakes!), the service was friendly and prompt, and as an added bonus they were very accommodating and kind to our child! We'll definitely be back in the near future.
We went to Vic's for our longtime friend's 38th wedding anniversary. Vi's is our "go to" place for special occasions and we had an amazing evening. The seasonal menu was perfect for the exceptionally cold evening. We started with Hillary's Crispy Sweet Onions. Our guests asked our server on what the ingredients are for the dish. So simple and so wonderful. I had a half portion of the Tonnarelli and it was just the right amount and really delicious.
The service was fantastic. We tried some new wine and shared some amazing desserts. Vic's is always great.
We had a 9:15 pm dinner reservation. The place was so packed they didn’t seat us until 10pm. They should not overbook , it was really excessively long considering we had a reservation. The manager was very apologic and gave us free glasses on wine. But I would hesitate to go there again.
Vic's is a treasure! It is one of my favorite restaurants in the city - the food is delicious (pro tip: don't sleep on the garlic bread or vegetables as they are always amazing), the ambience is great (mood lighting, fun but not too loud music), the service is always gracious and timely, you can get a reservation at a normal time a few days before or even day of and they seat you before your whole party is there! A dream come true for any New Yorker!
Chef Hillary Sterling does her magic at this lovely, lively and welcoming restaurant. Her creative Italian cuisine is not only beautiful to look at, but really delicious. I recommend that you share multiple items so you can taste all of her great creations. Start with the market section, Mercato, and some Antipasti. Then move to the pasta's (her specialty and all amazing), then move to the mains...don't miss the roasted chicken with charred broccoli, baby onions, fingerling potatoes, chilies, and basil (YUM!). This has become one of my and my husbands favorite restaurants and we frequent it as often as we can! You won't be disappointed.
