About Vic's

In October 2014, partners Victoria Freeman, Marc Meyer and Chris Paraskevaides (Cookshop, Hundred Acres) introduce diners to Vic's on Great Jones Street in NoHo. Vic's resides in the re-imagined former space of Five Points, the restaurant that Freeman, Meyer and Paraskevaides opened together in 1999. After 15 years, the restaurateurs decided to renovate the space and the result--Vic's--is an entirely new establishment. Chef Hillary Sterling (A Voce, Lupa) presides over Vic's locally sourced Italian dishes, including house made pastas and pizzas (made with New York State flour) and market-driven plates of antipasti and entrées. Vic's is open 7-days a week.

We had such a blast at Vic's - I always forget about it but this last time bookmarked it permanently in my brain. We asked for the most quiet table possible, knowing it can get a bit loud, and they sat us in the back by the kitchen which was so great, fun, and delicious. We all had a blast, and loved the ambience of the restaurant - but most unforgettably, THE MUSIC. Props to whoever is curating the soundtrack of HS years of millenials / xenniels! Shoop, Dave Matthews, The Proclaimers - Killed it.

Had the spicy chicken dish for lunch which was totally unlike anything I've had at an Italian restaurant. It was nice and spicy and flavorful. Highly recommended!

We were so pleased with the food and ambiance. The appetizer (seafood fritti) and main courses (roast chicken and seared albacore) were cooked with unusual, delicious flavors and ingredients. Definitely plan to go back!

The food was incredibly salty and somehow overspiced, an indication it was probably not fresh. The chicken and fish were indeed chewy. The ambience on New Year's was nice, but the music was horrendous and didn't fit at all. I wouldn't recommend this place amid all the other great options nearby.

Perfect for friends' get together and casual dinner date. Delicious food that is reasonably priced (generous volume as well), cozy settings, amazing staff (their service was a 5-star experience - friendly and attentive!), and it was quiet enough to be able to have an actual conversation without having to scream at each others (though people at the next table to us was really loud and distracting but the restaurant itself has a very calm and relaxing ambient and is perfect for catching up with friends over great meal).

The overall vibe at Vic's is exactly what you want for groups of 4 or more. We originally had a reservation for 4, but had a 5th friend join us as we checked in to our reservation. The staff said it was no problem to add a 5th chair, but neglected to tell us we'd be standing at the bar for another 20 minutes. However, it was okay because the bartenders knew how to make a good cocktail. Food was tasty and satisfying on all fronts. We kept it simple: a few appetizers (crispy onions are a must!), a couple pastas (Borsa is mouthwatering!), and a couple pizzas. Vic's is a solid option any night of the week!

Vic's is a fabulous restaurant serving excellent Italian inspired dishes. It's a casual establishment with great service. Each course we selected was wonderful. The prices were unexepectedly low for what was being served - great value.

Went here for a special prix fixe dinner. Celery root chips were so salty we couldn’t eat them. The main course of poached cod was also inedible - way too spicy. The service was great for the first two courses but broke down as the restaurant became very busy. Not too keen to return here.

Nice atmosphere and vibe. The food is very good. We had the sunchoke appetizer which was great. Cacio e Pepe was very good, chicken is excellent and the fish was delicious. For cocktails try the Sicilian sunrise if you like tequila! Will definitely come back.

While I love dining at Vic's, the kitchen during brunch seemed awfully slow on a day that didn't seem much busier than normal.

Vic’s is great on so many levels. First we were late due to the subway. We called to move our reservation and they were so accommodating. When we arrive we were warmly welcomed. The interior was decorated for the holidays and set a very festive tone. The wait staff is so professional and really knows how to make your dining experience special. The pasta is out this world. The garlic bread with goat butter is addictive. The brown butter gelato is the perfect way to end an outstanding meal. This is our new go to Italian restaurant in NYC.

Ate here for brunch on a Sunday. The place is bustling and has great food. My only knock is that we ordered the breakfast sandwich which comes with a large side of crispy potatoes and the restaurant was entirely out of ketchup. I've never heard of such a thing in my life. I scanned table after table only to find that this was, in fact, a reality. Needless to say, the potatoes which are normally a favorite, did not go down so well. Put a huge damper on the entire meal.

The food is terrific but our service experience cast a bit of a pall over our meal. When we arrived at 6:20 for our 6:30 reso, I notified the Maitre d' that we had an 8:00 curtain. Either he never passed this along to our server or she didn't care. Our service was so slow -- and the server so snotty -- that one of us had to have half her meal packaged up to take with, since our second course didn't arrive until 7:40! If you have a deadline, be repetitively clear about it so this doesn't happy to you.

Great spot downtown......we were sat in the back dining room by the open kitchen which was much nicer than being in the noisier dining room.

The pizzas were fantastic, as were all the veg sides (brussels sprouts w/ horseradish; roasted carrots w/ dill; sunchokes w/ herb yogurt!!!)........

Mains were pastas (huge portions)....mackerel w/ beets and harissa...off the charts......

Great wines by the glass at reasonable prices.......and amazing desserts.
Service was friendly and knowledgable (Sam).

Loved everything about this off the beaten path restaurant. Can't wait to go back!

I had a lovely dining experience at Vic's. I was very excited to try their Cacio e Pepe, and it was everything I was hoping for. The waitress even topped us off with a little extra wine and put a candle on my dessert when she found out we were celebrating my birthday. I hate when restaurants have people sing, and this was a subtle and lovely way for them to show they care about their customers. I will be back for sure!

I went here on Wednesday for a get together with a group of friends & we had a great time. There there was something for everyone! We ordered a few of the vegetable starters & a salad to start with, all of which were delicious (kale was very good). Then 2 of us had entrees (chicken looked huge) & 2 of us had small portions of pasta ("purse" filled pasta was yummy). Our server was helpful, but the place was busy, so we didn't have his attention to reorder glasses of wine often enough. This place is in an easy location & I will definitely be returning.

We waited 20 mins for our reservation. ANother 20 mins for our waiter after being seated. We got the wrong drink order which he corrected and said we wouldn’t be charged for the wrong drink. After ordering appetizers he came back 20 mins later to take our order only to be told that 2 items we wanted were no longer available. Then he asked us what we wanted for appetizers after having ordered 20 mins ago. Appetizers showed up 30 mins after. Food was fine no issues. We were then charged for the drink we didn’t order and had to have the bill corrected. I’ve been to Vic’s many times but was very disappointed this time around.
