My husband and I enjoyed dining outside and the ambience out there. The service wasn't the greatest, so I don't think that we will come back for awhile. There are other restaurants that won't allow their staff to talk about who gets the table and sort of argue for it. "I watered and specialed tables 3 and 9. Do you want me to take them?" At that point I wish she had taken our table, because we had to wait forever for our server to take our order and to actually greet us.
My group was very excited about Vic’s on the River based on the reviews. We had a 5:00 pm reservation and did not leave till 7:30 because of how long it took to get our food. Our waitress forgot drinks which was unfortunate because it took about 15 minutes to receive drinks after ordering. The food was yummy and they were accommodating to our allergies but we definitely had higher expectations.
Great food, and atmosphere. We also had a phenomenal server. I would highly recommend.
It was delicious. Enjoyed and will recommend to others
Place is very nice. Food was genuinely fantastic. My only cause for complaint was seriously rushed service. Waiter was clearing table and asking about desert when my fiancé was halfway through her dinner. I’d probably still go back though because the food was that good.
We sat by the window overlooking the Savannah River. Nice to have a delightful lunch with a view. The food is excellent, served well, with no rushing between courses. We will definitely return. Make sure you try the fried green tomatoes, the best around town.
The resaturate was lovely and the food was amazing!! However, service was slow.
Too long a wait to be seated despite a reservation
Great food, scenic location right on the river, very professional staff. I had the lamb shank and it was massive - yet every tender. The wines were very good. We will be back when next in Savannah.
Excellent friendly service (thanks Patrice) and delicious food - best pork chop ever. Nice wine list. Piano player added to ambience- played several Johnny Mercer tunes which is exactly what you want to hear in Savannah.
Piano was delightful! Food delicious!
Nice restaurant and service was great. But the Wagu steak special that 3 of us had was not worth $55.00. It was tough and not very marbled. But the pork chop was fantastic.
We had reservations and were seated on time. Our server was great - very attentive. The fried chicken was excellent but the flounder was Coated in a heavy pecan crust with citrus that made it taste candy coated and entirely too sweet. It was hard to find the fish.
Food was very good & we had a great waiter, James, who waited on all 9 of us!
We got a window view which was great! Our lunch was very good. Had soup and the grilled vegetable salad, which was delicious.
Food was great. Service was great. Took a while for the meal to arrive, but overall a great place.
Food was excellent, service was great, food prices were good for the value and location. Wine was a little expensive
Went too Vics the night after getting engaged, wonderful service, wonderful food. We had a seat by the window with a great view. Our server even took us out on the balcony and took our picture! Thank you Vics, for making the end of one of the most memorable days the best.
Excellent place. Terrific food and excellent services. I would highly recommend.
My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary. I chose Vic’s on the River after a random search of the top 5-Star restaurants in Savannah, Ga. We were totally pleased with the service, food, and environment. I have already started sharing my experience with others. A big thumbs-up. We will definitely add them to our list when we’re visiting Savannah.
Fabulous food, staff and view! Great tiny biscuits with honey butter, shrimp and hits over the top with the rosemary bbq sauce! Fried chicken and cheese grits were just the best!
Shown to a table with an impressive view of the kitchen. Surrounded by gossiping wait staff throughout the meal. Restaurant was not busy, would not reseat us. Experience was not pleasant. Will not return.
Crab cakes were awesome. Mary our server was also very helpful and fun. Great experience
Our waitress Mary was personable, attentive and aided us in making our selections.
The entrees were excellent with good portions. You cannot go wrong with the seafood and steaks. My husband said the fried shrimp was the best he could recall ever having.
I ordered a vegetable plate and was unhappy to find the collard greens too spicy and andouille hash too salty.
Always a pleasure to dine here as we have on many occasions over the last two years!
However during our visit it was for dinner & was quite crowded and noisy
I certainly enjoy lunch alfresco versus being in the dining room at night ; although everyone working at this fabulous place as usual were very, accommodating
Thank you again everyone at Vic’s for a wonderful experience
Expecting more than was delivered. If you have never been I would recommend going. The food was good but the service not . Very crowded and noisy. There are better alternatives in Savannah.
I prefer not to have spicy greens, and I traded out Mac and cheese for cheese grits that was not a good combo. The fried green tomatoes were amazing! The Tuxedo Creme Brulee was equally awsome
Our appetizer was beef carpaccio and it was terrific. I had scallops and my wife had crabcakes, both over risotto. We both thought the risotto was salty. My scallops were darker than the golden brown you would expect, but the taste was good. Both of our salads were overdressed.
Good service. Entres delayed and one cold upon delivery but heated up when asked
Vic's is great for any time, occasion. Vibrant, happy aura; food all around, amazing; Patrice, our server was prompt, helpful and full of personality. Our favorite place for sumptuous dining!
The food was awesome. We had a very nice view of the river. Will go back next visit to Savannah.
Vic’s on the River was fantastic!
The by the glass wine list was impressive, the food was impeccable, and the service was great. I highly recommend for your next dinner in Savannah.
Vic's was quite disappointing. We had to return twice to get seated and then we still had to wait 20 or so minutes beyond reservation time for our table. My companion had the fried shrimp which was nicely done, and I had the southern meatloaf. Had I known the meatloaf would be served covered in a sickeningly sweet BBQ sauce I would have asked for it "on the side". What is the fascination with sweet, fried to hell "southern cooking"? I guess I don't get it. Won't return.
Hostess was not very friendly. Food was very good but slightly cold.
Exceptional all the way around. A favorite for locals because they know Vic's will perform
The price to the serving ratio was disappointing
Tight space between tables and high noise level made meeting difficult.
A popular place on the river front with wonderful service. My companion very much enjoyed watching the ships go by on the river while we ate.
When dining at Vic's on the River recently, for the first time, I chose to order the Buttermilk Fried Chicken dinner for lunch with the Peach Trio for dessert and it was absolutely to die for! The food was perfectly cooked and so delicious, the service very good, atmosphere was wonderful, and the hospitality of the manager was outstanding. I am so glad that it was one of the restaurants that I chose to dine at during my first trip to Savannah.
We really enjoyed ourselves. The only thing is that the Parker is really bad at night. We drove around for thirty minutes trying to find parking. And then we had to walk to get to the restaurant. But the food and our waiter Dempsey was amazing. Love Vic's on the River Savannah Georgia ❤❤❤❤❤
