Food late and volf
Great food and wonderful service
Best service ever...one of my favorite restaurant here in Savannah
Octopus appetizer a must. Meals very good except too much salt in crab cakes. Professional service.
Just visiting Savannah for the day and stopped for lunch. Great food and atmosphere. Wonderful staff!
The service is exceptional. Food is wonderful and beautifully presented. Noise level is a little loud. Great place to dine when you are in Savannah.
Overall, I really enjoyed our time at Vics. Food was good and music really nice. What I found a little disappointing was I asked for a special table weeks prior for our 30th anniversary. What we got was a high top bar table. I asked the hostess if there was something else and she was less that helpful. Nevertheless, I made the best of it. Just not the most comfortable seat for a special event. I should have called them directly and spoken to a manager before our time there. FYI.
We really enjoyed the view of the river and the entire atmosphere of the restaurant. The service and the food was excellent. I had one of the best filet mignons I have ever had. The Calamari was unique and the crab soup was delicious. My husband had the scallops and they were huge. We ended our visit with a Praline cheesecake that was just decadent. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.
Made an 11 reservation on Monday because we had 2 kids w us and wanted to get in and out before the lunch rush. Our server was nice but all the food came out cold after quite a long wait. Other people came in after us and were served before us. Manager did comp a portion of the meal and offered to remake the food but by then it had been 1 1/2 hours and the kids weren’t able to last any longer. We had looked forward to trying ur restaurant and unfortunately didn’t enjoy our visit,
great location and the place was really cool and laid out nicely. Good ambiance. The appetizers and soup and cocktails were great but would not recommend the shrimp and grits. being in the South I would expect a little higher quality. seemed like instant grits with packaged gravy but the crab cakes were excellent!
Awesome food and service!!
Vic's On The River is our favorite dining spot when we travel to Savannah on vacation. We always make sure to include dinner there one night whenever we go.
This was our first "real" trip to Savannah and we found this place by an internet search. We were so pleased! The view was amazing and the food was delightful with a southern flair. The service was friendly and impeccable. We would definitely return!
Great food and service! However, open table should not require 50 characters.. I mean, seriously... what’s up with that!?
Over rated not worth the money. Service is hit and miss
It was very noisy to the point of not being able to hear my dinner companion across the table. Our soup took a long time to come. Dinner was very slow to be served then it was served to another table who had ordered the same entrees. Our server and the runners from the kitchen did not communicate. Thankfully the food was good.
Food is tasty. Biscuits to start. The pear salad was really good. The beef carpaccio was very nice. We had scallops and short ribs that were large servings. Food is comfort style meaning heavy. Enjoyed the bar area that had piano player and a lady singing on Saturday evening.
Food is excellent and portions are enormous. Our waitress was great, checking in appropriate intervals and providing outstanding service. Was very busy and a tad loud but a great choice.
Fabulous view of the river while dining. Saw 3 large container ships go by. Food and service was excellent.
We were there almost an hour before any kind of food arrived. That was after a 20 minute wait just to order our wine. Our waitress was friendly but seemed overwhelmed. There seemed to be minimal bussing service. Our water glasses were never filled nor our wine glasses. They brought the wrong soup to my husband and the wrong dressing on his salad. It was so noisy we could not even enjoy the piano music. I had intended on ordering a dessert but after an 1 1/2 wait for our entree I lost interest. Our hotel had recommended this restaurant but we were very disappointed.
Excellent service! The food was delicious. I would eat there again.
Vic's on the River came highly recommended on Trip Advisor. Unfortunately, this was not our experience. We were seated in a very tight corner with a table for 2 (in all fairness we were 2) when the restaurant wasn't busy at all. Another couple had been put at a table for 4 which would have suited us better as well. The service was desultory at best. The food was bland and not hot. A filet mignon ordered medium rare came rare. The chicken liver sliders were not exciting. The tomato bisque was quite delicious but again lukewarm. During our meal, two fellows arrived just behind us with a long ladder and proceeded to change light bulbs in the chandelier. What??? We felt rushed even though the place was quite empty. We were offered neither dessert nor coffee but asked if we would like the bill right away as the last plate was cleared. Again, what??? The restaurant is pretty and the view of the river pleasing. Can't recommend it for anything else though. Try the Olde Pink House for a much better meal in a lovely old southern mansion.
The meal was perfect from great cocktails to amazing fried green tomatoes, to the best short ribs ever! Service impeccable. Sat at a pub table in the paino bar overlooking the river. What a fabulous evening!
This was our first time at Vic's, and we were certainly not disappointed. The food is very well prepared and the service matches the food. The only drawback was the fairly high noise level, but considering we are in our 70's, this would probably not be a problem for younger diners. Overall a great experience.
Took my friend and her husband out to dinner as a thank you for hosting me in their home. Food was great, fresh seafood, salad and delicious bread.
A delightful experience all around.... highly recommended!
We went to Vic's for Sunday dinner. The restaurant is cute and the hostess was helpful. My girlfriend has celiac disease, so gluten literally is dangerous for her. We told the waiter, who made a note in his pad, and ordered an appetizer.
The octopus was good, although the waiter had no idea how explain a dish we've had numerous times in Spain and Portugal.
Then he brought out salads (35 minutes into our meal). There were big ole croutons on both, despite the fact that we had very clearly explained my girlfriend having celiac disease. He had no idea what to say and just apologized. The best option in this situation is to immediately remove a known allergen and then offer to make a new salad. He suggested that I eat them. Insulting, ill-informed, and just wrong.
The entree course, my girlfriend had the scallops, which were well seared and cooked perfectly. The risotto was passable, though under seasoned. I had the special halibut, and it was very over cooked. Dry and hard. The mushrooms were delicious but could not make up for the fish. There were two butterflied and grilled shrimp on my dish which were not grilled or butterflied and one was not even cleaned, huge " vein" still clearly attached to the shrimp and immediately visible.
After showing the server all of the issues he apologized and gave me the full bill (a full two hours into service, no lie I checked text messages to be sure because we were so aggravated)
I would not ever go here again, nor allow my friends to spend their money here. We had two other meals at less pricey restaurants that were far better.
Great crab cakes
Brunch was great. Get there early for a quieter meal.
This restaurant was amazing! Went here for my friends bachelorette party dinner. Great time with friendly waiters.
The food was fabulous and we recommend the restaurant to people we met in Savannah. The server was a bit wanting, but the food was so good that we overlooked the service.
The shrimp and grits are to die for as were the fried green tomatoes. We enjoyed our lunch on the river in such a great historic spot.
Overall the service was lacking a little bit! Our waitress seemed to be distracted and I asked for a special request with my meal and she immediatly said no without checking with the chef and it was not an elaborate request! Probably wouldn’t come back the next time we are in town.
Food was great! Ambiance exemplary
Food was good
This restaurant exceeded my expectations. It was so good that in the our three days in Savannah, we ate there twice. The food was excellent and the staff was friendly and knowledgeable.
Great lemon drop martinis at the bar during Happy Hour. There is a beautiful view from the rear balcony, but unfortunately no seating or tables for sitting your drink. The salads were fresh, crisp hearts of romaine with just the right amount of vinaigrette dressing. We had scallops which were cooked to perfection; crab cakes which were bursting with delicious chunks of crabmeat. One of our group had the pecan crusted flounder, which was the least favorite entree. The crust was “too heavy” and the serving much too large! But the andouille hash with the flounder was fantastic. Overall, a very good meal in a beautiful setting.
Delicious Southern food with a wonderful view! Wonderful, attentive service. Highly recommend.
