So glad I came across this little italian restaurant located in Hudson. I'm always going to the same italian restaurants so I wanted to try something new and i'm so happy I did. I got the homemade cheese ravioli and my boyfriend got the chicken parm(sooo much food). A bottle of cab was very reasonably priced, I recommend getting a bottle, over a few glasses, it will defintiely save you some $. For the quality of the food and the price I think this is a perfect spot for date night, and any fun life celebrations. Thanks!
Not good and won’t return. We had a reservation and were seated promptly. Then waited. And waited. We asked twice if the server could stop by. Nothing. Finally, we got up to grab someone, and after 25 minutes an apologetic server came over. We got his recommendations and placed our order. The bread was soggy. Salad was ok. The pasta recommended by the server had salmon cubes that were past their prime (which I didn’t eat). The “fabulous” dessert was only passable — didn’t even finish it. Not a good meal at all.
We booked a reservation here because Vico Ristorante in Manhattan is our favorite Italian restaurant. Suffice it to say, these two restaurants couldn't be different. While the ambiance here was satisfactory though somewhat austere, the food quality left so much to be desired. I consider myself to be an authority on chicken milanese, so of course I ordered it here (at the NYC restaurant it is my favorite). The serving was huge, and looked delicious. But while the dish presented very nicely, it was practically inedible. The chicken was tough, like shoe leather, and I only ate about one third of the serving. Extremely disappointing. Another issue exists in this and many other Italian restaurants. Though restaurants claim to be aware of and sensitive to those diners with food allergies, the majority includes garlic in many, if not all, dishes and sauces. Garlic allergies are real, and restaurants should recognize that. After much discussion, the Vico chef found a way to prepare one garlic-free dish for my wife. Unfortunately, that is often the case and does take away from the dining experience.
Chosen on a lark from a search for Hudson restaurants. Felt like we hit the jackpot. Just the right feel and food for us, delicious and beautifully presented. Worth the walk from the hotter parts of town.
Excellent from the moment you arrive. Service and food outstanding
Service is top notch, cuisine is always excellent
Have been before which is why we chose this time and we were very disappointed. Our waitress couldn't seem to get our order right. She brought the one order and then had to replace. While they comped us for the dish, it was not okay. I'd like not to base my review on this dinner alone, because we've enjoyed dinners here in the past - I hope this was an anomaly
Surprisingly good Italian food. Recommended.
Very nice place, very nice people, very good food. We look forward to going again
Truly awesome. From the moment we arrived, until we left we were treated as if we were guests in somebody’s home. Would highly recommend to anyone.
I thought service was slow and at least 2 of the portions were small - 2 sea scallops, NOT giant, for $15.00 is excessive. My “molten” chocolate thing was NOT molten, it was dry. Generally, I was underwhelmed for the orice.
What a great experience listening to Christina telling her story and how her book The Italian Party came about as well as her and chef Marks journeys!!!
Nice atmosphere - not rushed - excellent food
Great food every time we stop as we drive through Hudson. I highly recommend it!
Great food! Varied menu. Sat outside on the deck. Perfect evening.
Excellent dinner again. Service is great from Lizbet. The Berkshire chop was wonderful.
Excellent all around. I say one of the top restaurants in Hudson and not as known......which is great! Both owners are on site and Elizabeth takes care of you the moment you walk thru the door. Willing to adjust any dish to specail diets and they do it with a smile. Although I do not eat lamb I have been repeatedly told it is the best ever....the pasta and fish are consistently done to perfection and creative.
We were celebrating mother’s day and two birthdays which I indicated in my reservation on open table. Nothing said or made mention to it. A candle would have been nice in one of the 4 desserts or some acknowledgement at least.
There was a table not far from us where the daughter in law was arguing and berating her mother in law for a half hour and then stomped out. Not being very busy that day, which was odd because it was mother’s day, and only 1 other table, it was hard to overlook and def put a damper. Maybe putting music louder etc, do something, but owner and staff oblivious.
Also, find it odd and disappointing, that we were a table of 5 in the middle of dining room and the owner only cared about and doted on a table of two that was right next to us. He must have passed by at least 5/6 times without even a concern of how everything was or even a welcoming hello. We haven’t been there in awhile and now remember why. Our waitress was sweet but doesn’t carry the whole experience. And def on the expensive side for what you get. We don’t mind paying when it’s worth it and we do quite often at other very good restaurants in Hudson.
Excellent ambiance and service. A distinct cut above most Hudson restaurants....which are quite good to start with.
Food presentation and quality are first rate.
We had an excellent dinner and would love to go back!
Interesting menu and quirky interior. Fabulous food and service. A real ding!
As usual we experienced a wonderful dinner at Vico. We love the fresh ingredients and creative menu that they have. The cocktails are amazing as are the wines. The waitstaff are very attentive and responsive. We can't wait to go back (maybe tomorrow)!
Always a favorite for us! Love to come and linger over expertly made cocktails. Specials are always imaginative and fresh. Of course,Lisbeth is our favorite server. She is the best!
Good food. Friendly service. Nuce decor/atmosphere
Will dine there again and soon!
Love this place. It is a local gem in Hudson. The decor is modern and pleasing. The staff aim to please and the food is wonderful. The ravioli with the butter sage sauce is amazing. Great wine list. We ate here for Christmas Eve and my birthday and I was not disappointed for either special occasion.
Vico it’s not what’s made out to be. The restaurant is over rated, service is really awful. For the price I recommend fish and game. Limited menu and honestly nothing to brag about
Lovely place. Great food and service. One server even speaks Danish and she is an excellent server.
Really good Italian fare with good portions and distinct individual flavors. Menu is not large but has dishes for everyone. Decent prices and very nice ambiance.
Vico is one of our favorite go-to restaurants in Hudson. It is always a warm and intimate dining experience, whether we’re tucked by the fireplace on cold nights, or enjoying the outdoor patio when weather permits. The food is always delicious and the service exceptional.
Enjoyed another perfect dinner at Vico. I had my favorite Tuscan-style chicken (just the way I love it!) and my husband had the stuffed pork chop. I had had the pork chop when we last dined at Vico - not something I ordinarily order - but it is delicious! The menu offeres some unusual preparations and great choices too.
We were immediately greeted and seated. Restaurant has a lot of local modern art on its walls. Decent noise level. Service was satisfactory but not overly attentive. Steak was cooked as requested. Caesar salad could have used a bit more dressing. Seemed that menu was solid and would please most.
Good polenta and ravioli. Very inferior eggplant parm and calimari.
We responded to Vico's invitation for a two for one entree special, and had a wonderful dinner for two. Vico's is always warm and welcoming and the food choices and preparation lovely and enjoyable as well as the wine. I don't usually order steak out as I make steak at home which is generally better than in restaurants, but the steak was tender, tasty and perfectly done, accompanied by great tuscan fries. My wife had the chicken breast on garlic mashed potatoes, and again terrific. Appetizers were a nice salad and a great tender basket of fried calamari. We had espresso after dinner and our waitress brought, unsolicited, delicious biscotti. As for service, the place was fairly crowded, and as one waitress had called in sick, there was one waitress handling both rooms. It was nice to see a manager jump in to assist throughout. The service did not miss a beat and our waitress was as cordial as ever. Our last three experiences here have all been terrific.
Everything was just delicious! Homemade macaroni. Server is such a nice woman. Music really nice.
A place one must go. Food is exquisite. Staff is so very attentive
Always wonderful! The food is excellent, the service and ambiance make the dining experience something worth returning to.
So glad to be reminded of the wonderful Vico! My husband and I spent a lovely Sunday evening enjoying delicious food and a cozy atmosphere. We had the salmon - exceptional! and wonderful homemade pasta. Excellent service, nice prix fix menu. We will be back soon!
Went for a dinner date with my wife. The staff was very friendly. The food was fantastic!
As always, it was a wonderful meal. We come to Vico for the perfectly executed familiar favorites (chicken and eggplant parmesan, homemade pasta), warm service, and quality wine selection at reasonable prices. If you crave a delicious meal, you can't go wrong here.
