The food, ambiance, and service is exceptional. I would recommend to anyone. Personally, I wish they had a Marlborough, New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc.
We went for our Anniversary and had a lovely time. Wonderful meal, friendly professional staff, and beautiful restaurant.
Wonderful experience. So glad we found Vickers. Great service and tasty food. Went for our wedding anniversary and did not disappoint. Will be coming back for sure.
Love the piano and the ambiance. Food was also fantastic!
This was a lovely outdoor setting with Sinatra music in the background. Our meal was delicious and perfectly cooked to order: shrimp cocktail, steak Diane, filet mignon, potatoes, asparagus and carrots, and creme brûlée. Our drinks were well-sized and the cranberry-vodka-champagne cocktail was nicely tart. The only negative was the lobster bisque, which had little flavor and chewy lumps of tasteless lobster.
New to the Exton area and have driven by this place many times so we decided to give it a try. The good: from the street it's so warm and inviting, and love the historic building/charm of the restaurant. Live piano player on Saturday night. The bad: the vibe was as crusty as the bread. Tasteless butter, rolls tasted as though they were defrosted. Food was incredibly bland. Lobster bisque was bitter--in no way was it sweet and creamy, so that set the tone. Ordered filet and it was over peppered, dare I say soggy? I like my filet to have a nice sear, and it was wasn't prepared that way. The béarnaise sauce was good, light and flavorful but the over peppered beef did it no justice. Potatoes and carrots had no flavor. Rack of lamb was very good but also over peppered. Could certainly use a facelift in the kitchen. Staff was friendly enough. It was disappointing overall, especially for the price point.
The staff was very pleasant, accommodated all of our wishes. The food presentation was beautiful unfortunately our beef Wellington ordered medium rare was medium well and our chili and Seabass tasted a little bit fishy more like it was not quite as fresh. The drinks were fabulous lobster bisque and shrimp cocktail were good. It was just disappointing that the star of the dinner on both entrees was not up to standard. When we told and showed the server the beef Wellington medium well temperature there was nothing done about it, it was towards us finishing eating but that was the first time she had come back to the table after we started eating, we both left a third of our protein as it just was not appetizing to continue. We will try it again as sometimes things happen. One thing I was very impressed about I’ve never been in a restaurant that serves food at such a high temperature from my soup through to my entrée. I don’t know how they did that but it was perfect to enjoy a hot meal.
Always perfect! !!
Great menu, excellent food and service - 5 stars!
Food and service by Vickie were excellent. It just took to long (over 2 hours ++) to get in an out. I realize they are probably short-staffed,
For more than forty years, we have been dining at Vickers and it has never disappointed. Our server was fantastic, escargot and ceasar salad, sublime. Thoroughly enjoyed
Vickers is out "go to" place for special occasions. It has never disappointed. The meal, service and setting outdoors were all excellent
The noise level was annoying, distracting and inappropriate for fine dining, ruined our evening. Could not have a conversation without yelling. Large party guests should have a private room. They have as much right to have a fun party as we did as a couple to have a good evening. Please consider.
My only concern is the menu seems more limited than PTE/COVID. Hopefully that will improve as the number of diners recovers.
Not a good value for the price. 24 dollar lobster appetizer was overcooked and barely tasted like lobster. Crab cakes mostly filler, very dry. The outdoor space was lovely and service very gracious. Would not return any time soon.
Open Table refused us our requested time of 6:30 despite there being plenty if open tables the whole time we were there. We had to accept a 4:45 seating. The restaurant was great. Open Table was not helpful at all. The manager did not know why we were forced to take the early seating. He suggested we call the restaurant directly the next time and skip Open Table completely.
If you need a special dining experience this is it!
Delicious Mother's Day dinner. We had not been to Vicker's for a little while and it was as nice as ever. Beautiful restaurant in an historic inn which has been kept up so very nicely. The service was excellent and the food was really good. I had Bison that melted in my mouth, my husband had the halibut. Both were served with a delicious starch and vegetables. We both had the stuffed mushrooms, mushrooms stuffed with crabmeat that were delicious. We both also had the chocolate decadence cake. On Mother's day it was a three course meal for a set price. There were delicious choices in each category and a lot to choose from. I do not know if this is how their regular menu is or it was this way only for Mother's Day. We would definitely return again soon. They will be opening their patio soon and I understand it is lovely the way they set it up. Would highly recommend.
Have been here many times and this time was up to the usual great standard! Our food was delicious, prepared as ordered, and delivered in a timely manner, The server was friendly and worked hard to make this an enjoyable dinner. And the glass of Malbec we each had was perfect. All we can say is, "Keep up the great effort!"
We alway look forward to dining at Vickers, everything is top shelf. They didn't disappoint us this time either. After we got home we discussed dining again with 2 other couples and made a new reservation for a few weeks out. Again looking forward to seeing all the familiar faces. We especially like Robin, always so cheery
We have been to Vickers numerous times, before Covid and after with the outdoor seating.
We have always had great food, good service, and i feel it's pricing is fair.
My husband and myself will return.
Returned after having moved away for a long time and were pleasantly surprised to find the same quality place we left years ago. Menu was a little less than in the past due to Covid. But the service was excellent and food preparation as good as we remembered. Would like to see them reintroduce that spinach salad again someday.
Went there on Easter Sunday afternoon. We had the fixed price meal. All of our choices were quite good. All in all, a delightful experience.
We had a wonderful dinner celebrating our daughter's birthday. Service was excellent. Food was fabulous. We very much enjoyed the small quiet dining room. Overall a great experience!
The outdoor patio dining was perfect and the food was consistently amazing.
My wife and I love Vicker's. Its a bit of a drive so we don't go as much as I would like to. Very old fashioned ambiance. Good food. Some table side preparation - which I like and wish other restaurants did more often. The table side prep of Cherries Jubilee was one of the highlights of our dinner.
I ordered the duck breast it was pretty good, sauce was fine but the Swiss chard was unseasoned, the fingerling potatoes were boiled, deep fried in old grease and unseasoned as well. The sweet potatoes were drowning in cinnamon. Cocktails were terrible, son & wife's meals weren't any better. Our 3rd and last time here as previous visits were disappointing as well.
Vickers is one of my favorite restaurants. The food is always good and service is excellent. There aren’t many places left that provide an authentic “English” style menu, such dishes as Dover Sole and Steak Diane, in an upscale “cottage” atmosphere. Their Caesar salad is also made from scratch, table side, and the flambé desserts stay on the menu.
We celebrated Valentines day at Vickers. We were not disappointed in our choice. We had been there to celebrate our anniversary in the past. We checked out coats and stepped inside to the greeting of the owner. He showed us to our table in the room with the fireplace. Kevin waited on us in a friendly way but without being overbearing. We felt so comfortable and nothing was rushed but Kevin was there whenever we needed him. I had tje shrimp cocktail for an appetizer and the beef wellington for the entree. My wife had the lobster bisque and the crab cakes. I consider their beef welling what all others should be judged against. The atmosphere was quiet and romantic. There was a bit of a premium for all of this but I wouldn't hesitate to do it all again.
The food was excellent. We had lamb chops medium-rare and crab cakes. The food went well with a bottle of Pinot Noir. Very nice night.
The food was mixed
The rolls, the mushroom soup, and the escargot and lobster were poor. What you might expect from a chain restaurant. The salmon was very good , and the creme brulee was outstanding. The piano player was a nice touch. Wouldn't go back.
Valentines Day. Loved the food and service! This is one of my favorite all- time restaurants!
A charming restaurant. Great ambience, food and service. Never disappoints!
Pro's: Loved the food. We both had Veal Vickers with the vegetables and potatoes and thought the food was very tasty. I also had a very nice lobster bisque. The service was excellent, with the specials well explained and refills of beverages timely.
Cons: Noise level is a little high. Bread was nothing special.
Good food good service excellent atmosphereConvenient parking
Close to home in Exton
We had been to this restaurant twice since we moved to Exton in 2014 and just never had a great experience. We are regulars at Duling Kurtz. We decided it's been 5 years since we went to Vickers and lets give it another shot. Tonight, the staff was stuffy, made us feel uncomfortable, and never interacted with our 2 year old daughter In fact, they made us feel like bringing a child there is highly discouraged. Only the coat checker/greeter was pleasant. We enjoyed the cheese plate. But the rest of the food just doesnt live up to the price. Great ambience. We will not be back.
Vickers has always been one of my favorite places to dine in South Eastern Pa, or anywhere for that matter. Well done always!!
Not the same Vickers as thirty years ago, but still a good place for fine dining or a celebration meal.
Very enjoyable dining experience. We arrived at 6:30 on a Thursday night and were the only two in the dining room for half an hour. We had the crisp lobster appetizer, Caesar salad for two, Dover sole special and the Veal Vickers. All were very tasty, well prepared and presented. Not to mention fully consumed!
Great place for a quiet birthday celebration.
