Viceroy Royal Indian Dining
Homemade style northern indian classic cooked in thick curry sauce and garnished with fresh cilantro. (Shrimp / fish / scallop / crab / chicken / lamb / goat / vegetables).
Vegetable & paneer balls cooked in onion and creamy tomato sauce with almonds, cashews and raisins.
Generous portion of spinach with spices & herbs garnished with cilantro. (Shrimp / scallop / chicken / lamb / goat / paneer / tofu / vegetables / potato / chick peas).
Great ethnic food in upscale space with some good wine deals. Excellent service with speed of food delivery to table.
This is our favorite 'go to' Indian restaurant for lunch or dinner. They have a great lunch buffet and tasty menu that appeals to our Vegan family members as well as our die hard Vindaloo fans. Favorites include vegetable pakoras and samosas, chicken makhni, saag and korma, eggplant bharta (Vegan) and chana masala (Vegan), pappadam and paratha, along with a glass of mango lassi. We basically never have room for desert - though the gulab jamun, ras malai and kulfi look yummy. You won't go away hungry!
Never disappointed. One of our favorite GO-TO restos!
Always excellent food & service. Favorites are the butter chicken, goat curry & Naan bread. Never disappoints. Would go to Viceroy, again & again.
Food very good and we enjoyed the ambiance
Very reliable food that is well prepared. Good value on price with reasonably priced good wine list.
This is by far one of the best Indian food experiences I have ever had. Everything we ordered was amazing and authentic. We will definitely be back soon!
Indian food is different depending on what region or the country it comes from. Viceroy Royal specializes in food from the northern region of India - and is among the best we have tasted.
On the other hand the service is well .... less than what you would expect. We eat here frequently and the order almost always gets mangled in some way - and this is what we experienced on our most recent visit on Sunday October 6, 2019.
We ordered as our appetizer Chana Padi Chat - a dish served cold consisting of spiced chick peas, potatoes, and flour dumplings. This is one of our favorite dishes at Viceroy.
As an entree we ordered the lamb curry - which is also excellent - and along with a shared appetizer and the onion & paneer kulcha - is more than enough for two people.
As in the past, the order got screwed up.
Our entree was served - and the server seemed to have totally forgotten about our appetizer.
So we ended up having the entree first, followed by our appetizer.
The food is great. The setting is attractive. The wait staff are friendly and attentive, but don’t seem to be able to consistently deliver what you order - repeat your order several times to be sure the waiter had it written down - and then be prepared to be surprised.
We will continue to eat at Viceroy because the food is excellent.
We loved dining at Viceroy! Will definitely be back next time we are in the area.
Fully enjoyed my experience here! We had the malai kofta, lamb curry, lamb krahi, Botox kabob, and veg samosas. The veg samosas could be a bit more flavorful, but no biggie. All the dishes were delicious! 6 dumplings come in the malai koftas! 😋The serving sizes are large so we all had leftovers. The service was great - they were very attentive. The ambiance is much nicer
than I expected, nice low lighting for dinner. I’m sure it’s more casual for the lunch buffet. I’d definitely return!
We've been numerous times now and every time is good. We've tried a dozen different dishes between the group and never had a miss.
Went for my daughter’s 19th birthday. Food was amazing!!! So delicious!! The room was a bit loud and crowded and everything is about $20 per sissy so lots of money for the evening but thankful for coupons and great service. Would still go back!
We have eaten at Viceroy previously and have always enjoyed it. It is located in an outdoor shopping mall - so the location is just a nice storefront.
The interior is larger than you might expect and tables are nicely placed so that you are not sitting on top of other patrons. The interior is pleasant - with some pieces of Indian art decorating the walls. The dress code is casual.
On this occasion we went on Fathers Day 2019.
We had made a reservation using Open Table and were seated immediately upon arrival. The server was attentive bringing water and taking drink orders (the Taj Mahal beer is excellent). And the service was excellent throughout our meal.
We started with Chana Papri Chat - a delicious chick pea dish served cold - which we highly recommend.
We also ordered the onion and paneer kulcha which was done perfectly.
For our entrees my wife had the Shrimp Korma and I had the Lamb Curry. Both were excellent!
Portions are good sized - but not enormous - so you will likely not have leftovers to take home. Prices are reasonable for the area.
If you enjoy Indian cuisine you will like Viceroy.
We will be back.
Best in Atlanta, hands down, super accommodating staff, will absolutely return!
Waiter was beyond rude. Food was okay but the surly attitude of the waiter pretty much ruined the entire experience. We will not be back under any circumstances.
We went for Mother's Day weekend and despite that it was not super crowded. The food was amazing!! I thoroughly enjoyed every bite. We ordered samosas for appetizers which came with a mint and tamarind sauce. And then chicken tikki masala, curry chicken, lamb saag, and nan for the main meal. Portions are large and great for leftovers. The only downside was the service was a little rushed. I think it's more so cultural rather than them trying to push you out. They are eager to serve and help but giving you more time to relax and enjoy some time at the restaurant would be appreciated. All around though 2 big thumbs up! Will definitely be back.
I would recommend it to anyone who likes Indian and/or spicy food. I would definitely go back. While ordering my food I ask for extra spicy and the waiter said how spicy on a scale of 1-5. I said 5. Food was delicious.
Food was delicious.
Viceroy food is also good and is reasonably priced. Service was a little off on this occasion but nor bad and would not impact my decision to return.
This is a wonderful Indian restaurant. The food is always delicious. A chef/food service instructor/friend used to regularly take students there to see how to keep a clean kitchen! They always ask about the level of spiciness you want; I don't go past medium - and I can't imagine what "Indian hot" is like! All the accompaniments - raita, chutneys, breads - are consistently prepared and beautifully complement the meal. Portions are large enough that some food usually comes home. Service is attentive; I like that I never have to ask for water; my glass is always full. Whether you love Indian food or are new to it, this is the place!
Great food. Good time.
The staff were helpful and friendly. The food was delicious! Our favorites are Chicken Kahari, sag paneer and begum bhatta.
It was good overall but not as good as we’ve had it at an another Indian Restaurant in town. Naan was a bit undercooked, Tikka sauce & Cilantro Chutney were too sweet -almost sugary! Curry Chicken was good. Having several waiters come to the table at diff times was confusing. But Thank you for being open Christmas Evening!
Always great. The family loves going here.
Greats food, the ambience can use some better design.
Very popular restaurant. The portions are large, so our party of six only ordered five dishes and we still had food left over to take home. The medium spicy was spicy - they are not kidding. The Lamb Saag was my favorite.
We weren't expecting much. Just a dinner. And we were blown away. Service was flawless. And the food was wonderful. This was not our first Indian restaurant. Usually my family complaints. Too hot. Not hot enough. Everything was spot on. Even my mother, who finds everything too hot, was thrilled. Thank you. we will be back.
Great meal, great service. Everything we ate was yummy... chicken Tikka masala, chicken tandoori, chicken korma, lamb vindaloo...all well seasoned and cooked perfectly.
Excellent lunch buffet, great menu selections. Love love love Indian cuisine!
Consistently outstanding food, attractively served and excellent service. Also not noisy so you can actually carry on a conversation. LOVE this place.
Always good food and great service. Happy that they seem to be getting busier. Service was still very good even though the restaurant was as crowded as we've ever seen it on a week night. Staff and owner are very friendly and they cook authentic fare to order.
Delicious and authentic Indian food . Can’t wait to go back !
Excellent variety of Indian dishes in all categories, nicely prepared and presented. Service attentive and good. Price points good - a very nice experience for small group, lends itself to sharing the food and experience.
The lunch buffet had a vast selection
Wonderful food, great service. In an unassuming strip mall, but definitely worth a visit. Highly recommended!
Every time I go food is always delicious and very impressed with the consistency of quality
Food quality was bad. Curries did not have enough gravy and meat, was quite tasteless. Noise level was unusually high. Naan bread was not fresh even though brought to the table. Overall a never again experience.
The servers were very friendly but some seemed to have a tenuous grasp of English. A little bit our fault but when we weren’t ready to give our order, the server went away and it was 10-15 minutes before he returned. Some confusion between the servers I guess.
The food was tasty but not exceptional. On the plus side, one of the dishes was not spicy enough and they pleasantly and quickly added spice to it and gave extra to boot.
Love this place. It was our 1st time trying the buffet. We would not do the buffet again because of lack of tandori options, no seafood and the quality was not up to par compared to the regular menu. Service is always consistently great. We do not love the atmosphere as it is outdated, feels overdone and somehow lacks warmth.
Excellent food and service. Highly recommended. We'll be back
