This place is a gem. Our first experience and we absolutely loved it! Viale is very conscientious with tasteful table dividers and sanitation practices. We felt very safe and comfortable. The vibe is upscale but not pretentious, the staff were attentive and warm, and the food is to die for without breaking the bank. We shared half the menu and can’t wait to come back to try to rest. Oysters were super fresh and briny (and half-priced 5-6!) Arancini was a tasty perfect starter bite. But the beet salad was the best I’ve ever had. Smoky, sweet, perfectly cooked and balanced with some crunch from pepitas and pearls of red couscous. Also had to try the chicken parm sando which did not disappoint and came with divine paper thin sliced and perfectly salted house made chips. The pistachio pesto pizza had so much flavor yet none of the ingredients were overdone. I could eat this pizza every damn day. The spaghetti was simply done yet you could taste the quality of each ingredient which elevated it to a rich, decadent dish. I wish we saved room to try dessert but that will have to wait for our next visit. Thank you Viale and your amazing staff for a wonderful dining experience!
The waiter was abrupt. Bolognese was missing something and had too much rosemary. The clam verde was very spicy- to the point that it really should have been noted on the menu that it was that spicy. Meatballs and arancini were delicious.
Wonderful, fresh and locally inspired food. The staff is welcoming. Also a great wine list.
for the money I would only go here for the half off oysters
Best place for gnocchi omg. Beats places in the north end. Oysters were great too! We ate in the graffiti alley in the back :-)
One of the best restaurants in Cambridge. Consistently great food and service.
Great to have Viale back and serving outside. The food was not quite the standard that it has been inside, but we understand that there are probably bugs to work out. New staff are friendly and professional.
Viable is a wonderful neighborhood restaurant with consistently tasty Italian dishes and a nice wine list. I truly hope they are able to stay open
Always consistently delicious- nice menu rotation while maintaining their signature dishes (ragu gnocchi, fried cauliflower etc). Owner Mark is there every night making sure his customers are happy, cared for and well fed. Nice, large outdoor area now for al fresco dining!
Viale is amazing! Would recommend as highly as possible!
This was the most pleasant dining experience we’ve had since the “new normal” started. Thank you so much!
Just wanted a nice dinner for myself after a long week and was delighted to find I was able to order a “make your own” DOB menu! A delicious and well portioned dinner all around and the service was wonderful even though they were clearly worn out! Thank you for allowing us to enjoy a meal curbside and for keeping things as safe as possible for your guests.
Super friendly staff! Did not have time restrictions during Covid like other places. At the end of the night, the manager brought us shots and said that’s our policy if someone stays here more than 4 hours 😀
Best of all, it’s the first time I’ve had gluten free gnocchi! I haven’t had Gnocchi for 4 years when I started having allergies and their GF version was to die for!
Great competition for Pammy's. You're both great!!
Absolutely lovely! They do a wonderful job of setting up socially distant tables, food was really delicious and service was great. A charming experience in the time of Covid - they have made the effort to do it right!
We requested the alley patio. Very secluded and felt safe.
They seated us in their outdoor patio space in front of the restaurant on Mass Ave. The staff was very efficient and the drink menu was great, but the food was the best part (I'll be going back for more wild boar gnocchi).
Food was decent, I was expecting different vibes seeing the pictures online. Service was okay and not as attentive when we needed certain items after receiving our dishes.
Food was pretty good but not anything special; space is cute and service was good
Great food, nice place for friends to get lunch! Service very good.
A very ambient themed restaurant at a convenient location. The food stands up the other reviews and is very tasty. Good collection of wines. Service was very nice.
Very nice restaurant in Central Square, Cambridge. The food is top rate and the service was very good. The prices are very fair. All in all an excellent experience.
Viale continues to be a great restaurant. We are regulars and will remain so.
Great food! Want to try their pizza next time. It is such a nice experience.
Viale is my #1 choice for Restaurant Week by a landslide, and consistently serves excellent dishes for every course. I think their strongest points are seafood (octopus is perfectly cooked, rainbow trout is juicy) and handmade pasta (that tagliatelle was divine!). And then their desserts (kumquat bread pudding and tiramisu) meet that level of excellence too! This is a really special restaurant and I'm very thankful to live near it!
Perfectly cooked and delicious. Very talented chefs. Will definitely go back.
Bright noon, calm sunlight, and Tiramisu is so delicious
Best to share plates, limited menu makes it easy to make selections! Beautiful little spot, the partial glass rooftop made it feel like spring. Flavors and textures are very intentional. Our favorite appetizer was the shredded brussel sprout salad. Our favorite entrees were the potato gnocchi and Arctic char.
great food fairly priced. my friend left her purse behind and they called us before we had reached the car to let us know. great service and I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a nice meal.
We had a last minute commitment and had only an hour to dine. They were accommodating without making us feel rushed. The food was tasty and beautifully presented. We look forward our next, more leisurely, visit.
Small menu. Good veggie options. Everything was delicious.
We reserved early and had a booth, where it is quiet. We had good service, and the fish (Arctic Char) was well cooked and enjoyable to eat. We were done in good time to get to the Central Square Theater.
We love Viale for every occasion! The food and service are always the best in Boston.
Viale is hands down the BEST restaurant in Cambridge! I have never been disappointed by this place, and I’ve come here more than five times. The food. The service. The ambiance. Everything is top notch. Our server Lauren was phenomenal, and she made the evening extra special for us. ❤️ I will definitely come back again and again! CANNOT RECOMMEND ENOUGH - ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!
Food was very good. Menu a little limited, wine was expensive for the labels.
Fantastic experience from start to finish. Amazing cocktails, delicious food, terrific service.
Very funky food. Interesting but a little overpriced
Absolutely delicious! I has a pasta dish and it was amazing. The wine and service was great too. I'll definitely be back. :)
Lovely place! Highly recommended!
AMAZING FOOD! Very accommodating for gluten free options. Went for New Years! Would go back again!
