We had an amazing experience during our Team outing! The Team treated us like family - and if we needed something, everyone on the staff would help. I have not seen Teamwork like that in a restaurant - It was an exceptional experience and we will be back again and again! :) Thank you!!!
Fantastic. If you're nervous about indoor dining during the pandemic this is the spot for you! Our table was isolated, by the window and surrounded by barriers between the tables next to us. We couldn't have felt more comfortable for our first date night indoors during the pandemic! Service was amazing and the food was awesome. We loved doing the 3 course option and the wine list and cocktails were great! 100% recommend..
Viale for brunch is great. The recent scallop special was imaginative and yummy. Old standards like the mushroom scramble and eggs benny were well prepared, and included terrific home fries and homemade ketchup. Viale is worth the trip.
Consistently good neighborhood restaurant. Can count on a nice meal, good drinks, friendly staff every time. Not many restaurants can do this. Highly recommend

Bad music was playing too loudly over the sound system.
wonderful dinner! drinks fabulous! really enjoyed the brussel sprout sad, oyster appetizer, and pepperoni mushroom pizza! music was really cool.
Tasty food, good covid barrier set up that made dining more private. Loved it.
Very good food with smallish portions. Was nice for pre-theater dinner.
All pleasant and positive experience. We brought friends who were new to Viale and they were very impressed!
It was my wife and mine 1St Dinner as a married couple post honeymoon. Chef and his staff Made the experience that much more special by coming by and talking to us. Staff is very welcoming felt at home! Not to mention food and desert and apps phenomenal
I came to Viale for the first time last night for a special occasion, after seeing their Instagram account! Every dish and cocktail was absolutely delicious and fabulous. The subtle touches and attention to detail were not lost on me! The owners were extremely warm and friendly, especially Shauna who made sure to send over a celebratory cocktail. I highly recommend Viale and can’t wait to go back!
Viale is our go to in central square, and we live in central so we come here fairly often. Service is always amazing, and I’ve never had a bad meal here. Whether it be everyday dining or a special occasion they always hit the mark! Some of my favorite staples on the menu include the duck croquettes, strip steak, and wild boar ragu. If you’re looking for more casual/comfort food the pepperoni cup & mushroom pizza is maybe the best pizza in central square, and the fettuccini is super good too. The branzino special at my last visit was amazing. The menu changes seasonally/daily and also includes dollar oysters from 5-7 each day and a well curated wine menu. Can’t recommend highly enough!
Robust flavors, fresh ingredients. I come here often and I’m never disappointed.
The food was great, as were the drinks. The croquettes, crudo and meatballs were all great, but the papardelle stole the show.
Viale never disappoints! Their wild boar bolognese gnocchi is the best.
We always enjoyed Viale in the past, and this was our first time back since the pandemic. I worry that staffing issues are the cause of this so I hesitate to be too critical. But our server was just not very interested in us. After someone dropped off our eggs benedict it took quite a while to get anyone''s attention to point out that the eggs were hard-boiled rather than poached and runny as they should be. Most servers pop back after a few minutes to be sure that everything is OK. Disappointing in terms of food prep and service, I'm afraid. The potatoes on the side were fantastic, however.
Short-staffed, like everyone these days.
Best meatballs, period.
I love Viale! Great food made with quality ingredients, very flavorful! great service, great drinks!
Viale is a neighborhood favorite and always a treat for cocktails, dinner, and/or brunch. Highly recommended!
I had made a note and checked in with host about a birthday which was not acknowledged even after the multiplier attempts. I also 100 percent booked a table inside - and they sat us outside. The host basically said nothing we can do about it. Take your table outside or leave. It was a special night for us so we were dressed to go to a party after and I didn’t have a coat. I was really disappointed overall.
Wow the food is delicious here. I recommend the pistachio pesto pie (flatbread) and the fettuccine. 10/10!!!
Delicious cocktail and cauliflower dish. Very good service.
It was fantastic and would recommend to others.
Always good to dine at Viale.
One of our favorite spots in Cambridge! Food is delicious and the service is spectacular
We live near Viale and this is our 6th or 7th time. Never disappoints.
Fun and great food, our server was super nice! He offered to make us a simple custom spaghetti with meatballs off menu. We appreciated him!
A good range of food oriented more towards pasta and pizza. A great casual Friday dinner with friends. We will go again but do not feel compelled to do so. The manhattan was very good
Good food and excellent, friendly service. Not cheap but worth it,
My date and I had an incredible experience. Shauna and the team we so hospitable and kind. Truly made out night! Definitely will be coming back :)
Every dish was delicious! We ordered family style and loved every bite! The smoked beets are outstanding, salmon and pasta dishes delicious. Tuna crudo divine! And the tiramisu is the best I have ever had. Great, friendly service to boot!
Fun spot with great food and friendly service. My only complaint is that when we arrived they tried to seat us at a booth that was literally in the service (kitchen) area. I'm not sure why they even have this table located where it is. There were several open tables and I had noted on the reservation that it was a birthday celebration. They ended up seating us in the bar area which was fine, but it was very strange.
It was a beautiful late summer evening, we dined outside on the expanded patio. The food was so flavorful and presented artistically. The service was amazing !
Good place with tasty food options and amazing wine.
Love this place - food was amazing - a little slow to get service at first but then it went smoothly
Very pleasant evening . . . good food and wine, good service. Not at all busy at 5:30, got steadily busier and noisier til we left at 7:30.
The varied menu enticed me to make an 8:30 reservation for a bite to eat after picking up a friend from NY at South Station. We were greeted and seated outdoors right away by welcoming staff. The outdoor ambiance was great - festive lighting, tables spaced comfortably, well separated from Mass Ave traffic (bike lane runs by the dining area, but kind of fun). We were waited on promptly, ordered cocktails and food, and everything came out in good time. The smoky cocktail I ordered was delicious and the glass of wine I had with dinner was generous. The food was outstanding: pizza with pesto, caramelized onions, and pistachios; smoked beet salad, the shaved brussel sprout salad with blue cheese - literally all so very delicious. I haven't been so pleased with a meal out in a long time. Thank you, Viale!
The reviews I read indicated that it would be fine Italian dining, but it was more like cafeteria food. The salad was over salted and drowned in dressing, the squash appetizer was over cooked, the gnocchi was hard, chewy and tasteless, and the steak was overdone which they tried to hide by bathing it in sauce. The tiramisu was passable, unlike the meal. The servers were friendly, but minimal. This is more like a fast food joint than an Italian restaurant.
