My go to spot for all my business meals. Great location, phenomenal food. I don’t have to impress my clients, I let Vials do that for me!!!
Really nice upscale-casual spot. Good service with great food. The wild boar gnocchi dish was fantastic.
Imaginative menu, rather rich food -- too good!! Fine service. And each time we go, we find parking fairly easily. Plus -- very close to Central Square Theatre, so if you're going to a show there, Viale is a great place for dinner beforehand.
Our server was wonderful.
Vegetarian options were much better than usual.
interesting beer selection
Delicious and reasonable , we really appreciated that the level of the music was low. We could hear each other talk. It is perfect for a meal before or after a play at Central Square Theater.
Great food and service. Noise level is high, if you like that!
Delicious olives, bread and oysters. I went for the buck a shuck deal and it was worth it. I ordered the clam linguine which I found a little salty. They also have a great/ diverse wine selection with lots of reasonably priced bottles.
Always appreciate the consistency of a quality restaurant. I have never been disappointed after multiple visits. My guests (3) had never been to the restaurant and are all 'restaurant people'. They loved it!!!
Courses are too overpriced for both quality and quantity. Some restaurants ride on their past laurels, and this is one of them. Lovely atmosphere and fabulous service. The cuisine, you can shop and prepare at home for 50% less. Save your money!
I went with my wife for a night out and this place rocked it. The drink menu was creative. The dollar oysters made for a perfect starter - and the special a pork shank? Amazing. The normal menu items were delightful - I could have eaten 4 orders of fried cauliflower. Mike the owner waited on us a few times and just made it a nice night. We will be back.
You cant beat the $1 oysters. We also shared the Pappardelle with Maitake mushrooms which was excellent. Cocktails are also great. The only miss for me was the chocolate dessert which felt undercooked and tasted a little tinny. My advice is to skip dessert and eat more oysters!
Our entire group had a fabulous meal at Viale. All of the food was delicious - especially the oysters, arancini, and pappardelle! The food tasted fresh and handmade. You can’t beat that when looking for an authentic Italian meal. The wait staff was very friendly and always checked in to make sure we were doing well. Would highly recommend a visit!
I went to Viale to celebrate my birthday. I had a reservation and they sat us on time. The waiters were very pleasant. I really enjoyed my meal.
From the moment you walk in you are greeted and treated like a welcome and valued guest. I’ve been here four times in the past few months and each time has been spectacular in the level of service and overall friendliness. The food is of course outstanding as well!
Yummy yummy homemade pasta. Everyone’s food was delicious.
We had a good experience. The food in particular was top notch. The one vegetarian option, "spaghetti alla chitarra," was more interesting than many vegetarian offerings. The beef, fish, and duck that my companions ate were all praised.
The service was friendly and helpful, if absent for a bit from time to time.
The ambiance is a little drab and a little frayed - I noticed obvious chips in the paint and plaster - nothing too serious. Acoustically it's a harder space than I recalled, but blessedly there was no intrusive or inappropriate music being piped in. A noisy party a few tables away sometimes undermined the mood. That said, the spacing of tables is good, there's no sense of being crammed in.
Viale is a fine place for excellent food in an undemanding, welcoming environment.
The food was imaginative, Innovative and delicious. Try the smoked duck. Yum! Service was friendly, attentive and efficient.
One thing I really appreciated about Viale was that the background music was interesting and upbeat but not overwhelming. It was easy to have a conversation with my dining partners.
We had a great evening with so many good meal choices that we were constantly sharing from start to finish.
The staff was attentive and helpful answering questions about choices we considered for each course.
Nothing especially good or bad about this restaurant.
The food at Viale is excellent and very reasonably priced. The brussel sprout salad was excellent . We both had the Rigatoni with sausages and calabrian chile. It was delicious. The place is pleasant to eat in, not noisy and the service was great. We will definately return
Everything was delicious and our server was fantastic, order scallops, arancinis and prosecco off the new years special menu and everything was great!
Went with a large party of family. Excellent food. The fresh
Pasta was perfectly al dente, the sauces were delicious, everyone loved their meal. Extremely attentive and pleasant servers. They even noticed that our toddler loved the pomegranate seeds that came with my salmon dish and brought her a whole extra little dish of pomegranate seeds, she was in heaven and it kept her busy for at least 10 minutes!
This was our first visit. We were a group of long-time friends who don't get together often enough. We loved everything from the olives to the chocolate pudding cake dessert. Salmon dish was perfectly delicious. We really appreciated that we were able to have a leisurely dinner without anyone hustling us out since we had a lot of catching up to do. Viale was a great discovery for all of us.
Love this place, I just wish there were more vegetarian options ... my favorite is currently the margarita pizza
One of my favorite and most predictably tasty and pleasant dining experiences.
Wonderful, professional staff. Prompt, accomplished service. GREAT bartender.
Viale’s remains my go to restaurant in Central Square. The menu provides something for everyone. We started with Oysters. They were fresh and delicious. We continued by sharing the crab toast that we had not tried in previous visits, but will definitely include it as a future appetizer choice.
The mushroom pizza was more than enough to share and was wonderful. Pizza is usually great when you start with good dough, delicious sauce and fresh toppings.
We didn’t save room for desert, but instead enjoyed our Sangiovese wine as our desert course.
Excellent pasta and the service was great!
$1 oyster is very nice as always.
Delicious baby love it so much love it thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Appealing menu, friendly service, reasonable prices, unpretentious good value. Our new favorite restaurant.
Lively atmosphere but food is only good, not at the level that one might expect for the price point. I like the location since I work nearby so it is a great place to meet colleagues.
I've eaten at Viale several times. The food is always delicious. The cocktails are tasty, too.
I haven’t been to Viale’s in way to long. The meal was wonderful. The menu has changed somewhat but the quality of the food and service is exceptional. Everyone enjoyed their meal and the service was spot on- neither too much or too little. The crude appetizer was outstanding.
The staff were welcoming and accommodating. Food was okay, and the setting was comfortable. Chose because location was close to office.
I was so glad to see Viale nearly filled! It does get very noisy, however. That is my only complaint.
It's a great place, wonderful food. Good service.

Not a great place for brunch. Portion sizes are small and menu lacks variety.
My sister and I took my mother here for a Sunday brunch and it was VERY TASTY. The space was fairly quiet, so the kind and friendly staff let us linger for a while over our midday cocktails. I highly recommend the duck confit hash (with sweet potatoes), which was boldly flavored and topped with two poached eggs.
This restaurant was a pleasant surprise. We were looking for a pasta restaurant last minute and were able to get in. The appetizer special was especially creative. It was scallops in a squash. The waitress gave a much better description but it was very nice! I had the boar gnocchi and my son had a NY steak that came with lovely greens and veggies. Ambiance and lighting was great.
Very good Italian, beyond the usual red sauce joint fare, but below the kind of highbrow food that feels self-aware, conspicuously artisanal, and overly fussed with. The specials really were special - cocktails and pasta - and our large group felt more like welcome guests than a numerical burden.
