Viaggio Ristorante and Lounge Ratings and Reviews
I’ve worked in the neighborhood (and park daily across the street) but have never eaten at Viaggio until recently. My mistake. We celebrated Valentine’s Day the day after, and it was perfect. Despite a Hawks game that night, our waitress Jennifer was laid back but attentive and made great food suggestions. The restaurant was really busy and clearly a pre-hockey dining spot. Our food was prepared perfectly, delivered by different house staff (owners?) with a smile. Dessert was left-over small “wedding cakes” from V-Day. We’ll go back again soon, and we’ll bring our kids. Love this restaurant.
This restaurant is outstanding!!! I've been here 4 times and my food has always been absolutely fantastic, as well as the service being impeccable. I would recommend this restaurant to any Italian food loving person out there...it really is one of the best restaurants in the city. I just cant get over how delicious each meal is. Definitely a great spot for a date or for any normal day!
We had an early reservation before a concert at City Winery. The place has a nice vibe of a neighborhood cozy Italian restaurant, but was very busy by 6pm because of the Bull's game. All the food was nicely prepared and everyone found all to taste great. The place was pretty loud, and the wait staff in our case was a bit inattentive, but it may have been the early/heavy rush.
We are repeat customers of Viaggio Ristorante, and we look forward to dining there each time. The service is fabulous, the food is incredible, and we are never disappointed. The roasted peppers and warm bread are yummy starters on every table. We ordered our favorite Meatball Salad for the table, which we were craving. We ordered the Chef Special Pork Chop Parmesan. I am not exaggerating when I tell you it covered more than three quarters of the plate, and was amazing!!! We took enough food home for a entire meal. Our friends were first-time patrons, and were very happy with our restaurant choice. We will definitely return (many, many times,) to Viaggio Ristorante and Lounge!
Went before a hawks game...reservations right on time...great small Italian place with very authentic food of southern Italy....tables close together, but not intrusive...very good waiter that kept us on time, but never pushed us. Only one issue...my wife ordered a dirty martini with vodka...when it came it was literally water..not sure there was any vodka at all and no olive juice to our taste...we don't normally complain, but this just was not acceptable.....when the waiter brought the new drink he said they put in too much olive juice so they added a lot of water....very strange. Still loved this place and in fact are going back prior to another Hawks game in a couple weeks
My boyfriend and I loved this restaurant so much! It's a perfect atmosphere for a fun birthday evening or a romantic date. Our waiter, Chris, was so accommodating and fun to chat with, and made our night really special. The dinner was outstanding - we had rigatoni bolognese and linguini with clams - as was the dessert.
Staff was extremely accommodating! We arrived way early for our reservations (drive time was less than anticipated). Seated immediately and told to take our time. Serve was above standard and food was made fresh to order. Friend ordered a dish that she has been eating the leftovers for three days now! Highly recommend for individuals going to events at the United Center!
Walked all the way from River North at 125 Ohio St.on our way to the United Center. Apparently I was in an Eastern time zone when making the reservation so thinking my reservation was at 5:30 rather than 4:30, my table was given away. Don't blame them for that but the host could have been nicer about it and tried to squeeze us in somewhere. Lot's of tables still looked empty although it was busy. Really can't rate food or service.
