Fantastic service and meal- colleagues and I shared three dishes- chicken Marsala, vodka rigatoni and cavetelli
Great environment, very friendly staff which helped us to decide what to get, and the food was very good and a bigger plate than we expected! Definitely recommend for Italian dining!
A fun casual environment, Very good food at a reasonable price. The best place in Chicago's West Loop!
The food was outstanding, the waiter was knowledgable, I will be back
Food was great, but very, very noisy.
The food was excellent, and so was the service. This place is definately a place to have a great dinner!
Outstanding service. Delicious food at a good price point. Will go back!
My husband and I travel to Chicago from Milwaukee occasionally for a change of scenery, and we always make a special trip to Viaggio. The food is always amazing, the service is professional and clearly passionate about food, and the wine is great. We highly recommend for a date night if you're looking for something romantic and simple.
First time, loved it!!!
Quality food and service every single time we come. The shrimp Dakota and pork chop parm are our staples, and then we experiment with the rest of the menu. Eggplant appetizer, fish specials and tiramisu are amongst the other stellar ones. Can’t wait to go back!
The best on Madison st
Very yummy food. Went for a later Friday lunch and enjoyed the experience and will definitely go back.
It was one of the most fun and enjoyable evenings we’ve had in a long time!!
Wonderful service and great food! Thanks, people of Viaggio, for making a special day with family and friends more special.
We love Viaggio!
The food is delicious every time. Their menu is varied -- but each dish made so well -- every time.
The service is IMPECCABLE every time. Our most recent visit was on a night of full house - - yet service did not miss a beat!
The drinks are always good.
Portions are generous.
Every employee there is friendly, helpful and there for anything you might want or need.
Food was outstanding! The pasta with vodka sauce was excellent. Add the meatballs. All the chicken dishes were great. Very flexible with substitutions. I substituted risotto for pasta. The service started out good. But, then our server seemed to be handling too many tables. Or, it could have been that we only ordered one bottle of wine. But, we would still go back because the food was outstanding.
We selected Viaggio based on location and reviews. We all declared it a winner! From the moment we walked in, service was excellent. We were warmly greeted and seated even though two of our party of five were arriving separately and a few minutes late (we had reservations). None of this “we can’t seat you until your whole party’s here” nonsense. To me, that has always come across wrong and inconsiderate, ike we’re not welcome. The hostesses and serving staff were friendly and immensely hospitable. Julia, our server, was attentive and patient. She was a delight. Another server (Kyle), recognized a member of our party as also being a part of the local restaurant scene. He was kind enough to frequently check in on us as well. Apps, entrees and desserts were tasty and in good portions. Overall, a great experience and we’re eager to return!
Love the food and the service. This is my favorite Italian restaurant in Chicago.
A good neighborhood restaurant not to be confused with a fine dining experience.
The vibe is relaxed and the crowd clearly local. The food was nothing special but acceptable.
Great food great value great service. Highly recommend.
We love this place. It's our go-to when we have out-of-town guests. The food is always amazing (highly recommend ordering from their daily specials), and the service is impeccable. We've dined here so many times and have never had a bad meal, and our guests always rave. What a neighborhood gem!
After reading many reviews and searching for the "top Italian restaurant in Chicago" to take my parents and sister to, I decided on Viaggio and couldn't be more happy with that decision. Eagerly greeted and promptly seated with fresh bread and mild peppers. Then onto a delicious Montecpulciano. Accompanied shortly thereafter by the delicious stacked eggplant. And four delicious entrees. I had the Rigatoni with Sunday Pork Gravy which was a triumph. From beginning to end a fantastic experience!
Everything was excellent!! The peppers that comes with the bread before your meal, I could eat as a meal, it is so good!
They have the BEST bread (oh so fresh). The fried calamari was delicious - fresh and light. The food was also delicious. My date had the pork chop (nice portion size - we joked that he ate a brontosaurus) and it was well seasoned. My pasta dish (carbonara) was delicious - you can tell the pasta was homemade. My pasta dish was a little dry - pasta soaked up most of the sauce so I requested additional cream sauce which was no problem....now it was perfect. The service is good. They are not much for small talk but they are kind, professional and offer prompt service. They made me feel special by treating me to a complimentary dessert and non-alcoholic beverage for my birthday. This is my new FAVORITE Italian restaurant. I will definitely be back and highly recommend this place...it's cozy and feels like home.
I was disappointed in the veal but the other meals, chicken and salmon were very good
This was a backup choice and turned out to be as good or better than our original choice. Service was smart and the food was delicious. We’ll be back.
Always a great Italian favorite! Unique dishes along with traditional excellence!
We went before a concert at the United Center based on our friend's suggestions. We also took advantage of the event parking valet but when we did park on the street the valet told us we would get a ticket and it seemed like a scam to use his service. It was $20 since the concert was over after 11pm. Anyhow, we were seated and the waiter was a bit pushy and pushing this orange martini which was ok; I should have stuck to wine. We had pasta which was good the 8 finger cavatti and the sauce was really good. The bill was expensive and felt like we were getting pushed out early since we weren't going to United Center right at 730pm since there was an opening act and the place wasn't busy. It is a little less than a mile from the United Center. The portions are big and they charge extra for salads so split I would suggest spliting an entree; plenty for two people and I had leftovers.
Food and service were both outstanding. Restaurant was cozy and Cubs were on TV in the bar.
We came during family vacation in Chicago and all four of us had a delicious meal. Olive oil, cheese, red pepper flakes and long peppers on the table with bread reminded me of our family's favorite Italian restaurant when I was growing up. Absolutely recommend this delightful restaurant. The staff was very attentive and made us feel at home.
Always a fantastic experience! I love this place!
Food and atmosphere are great! Been there a few times. A bit pricey for just pasta dishes.
One of best, if not the best tasting Italian cuisine in the West Loop!
A wonderful place to enjoy an authentic Italian menu with a few adventurous options. Hosts make you feel welcome and appreciated.
Always an incredible time at Viaggio’s! We are locals & love going here.
Dining here felt like you were eating with friends in the neighborhood. Jen was our server and took great care of us. She was our new best friend by the end of the evening. The food was excellent (chicken piccante, best ever). We will make a special trip back here anytime we’re back in town.
Great service, ambience and crowd. Would be back again!
Solid Italian, better than most. Great staff, go with the bartender's wine recommendation and seriously consider the special dinner entrees.
Love Viaggio. It is my neighborhood restaurant. Family owned with family recipes it is like eating in someone's home but bigger. Great wine list and bar.
Excellent service and food.
Love the food - great tasting, nice portions. Our server Nick was the best - so nice, professional, knowledgeable!
