You can't beat Via Veneto for excellent food, friendly staff, and a comfortable environment. This is a neighborhood gem with easy parking.
We enjoyed a wonderful dinner here. The dishes are authentically Italian, reminding my husband of his napolitana grandmother’s cooking. The cod filet Livornese with polenta and olives is outstanding.
Via Veneto’s ambience is warm and comfortable and owner/chef Tony, his sister Angela and the staff treat you like family. This will be our go-to Italian restaurant from now on!
It was Valentine’s Day .Didn’t have a sitter so we came here with our two eleven year old kids. We were seated in the middle to the entrance of the room. Every time one of of the staff came by they would brush my chair. I guess a table near the washroom wasn’t available. Our waitress must of been upset she had to work, she never smiled once all evening. Not once did she come ask us about our meal or anything. The busboy and other staff came by to check on us. They seemed pleasant. When it came time to pay the bill our waitress reappeared and figuratively threw the check at us . It was like I had a highly contagious incurable disease.
I’ve had much better service at McDonald’s . Maybe it was an off night. I will never know because I will never go there again.
We have been going to Via Veneto on special occasions for years. It never disappoints.
We had a wonderful time, they took such great care of us. They made us feel like family. We will be back with our family soon.
Standard Italian fare. Pretty good. I will go back.
The food was great but the dessert was mind blowing! The semifreddo, mousse, soufflé, panna Cotta, and cannoli was amazing. Kudos to the pastry chef!
ALWAYS delicious food! We always feel welcome there. Creative seasonal items. Via Veneto is a favorite of ours and we try to get there when we are in town.
authentic Italian food.................................xxxxxxxxxxx.....
We enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving meal at Via Veneto. The staff, including the owner, was welcoming, seated us promptly, and made sure everyone received attentive, efficient and personal service throughout. Although all the tables were full, we never felt rushed and the dining room was comfortably quiet. The food, from both the Thanksgiving and regular menu, was delicious and prepared with care. Easy parking, too. Oh, and the dessert—Croccantino Semifredo—is amazing.
We are hard to please Italian’s . We always have authentic Italian cuisine here!! Free parking and terrific food!!!
We dined at Via Veneto on Thanksgiving. The restaurant had a turkey meal special in addition to the full dinner menu. So the choices were many and the food was very good. Our server was very friendly. Seems like an authentic sort of old school place. We will go there again.
It is always a pleasure to go to this restaurant. The staff are so nice to deal with. The food is excellent and in good sized portions. The prices are reasonable for the amount of food you get.
Great service and our house salads and chicken entrees were all great!
Very glad there weren't parties that were noisy. Very respectful atmosphere. Good food.
Always great Italian food! If there is a sauce you'd like that's not on their menu now, just ask for it. One of my all-time favorites is their creamy balsamic. We have always liked Via Veneto...so much we did our wedding there!
Great place, we were in from out of town and wanted to find something that was a local family restaurant as those have the most characters. Had a wonderful dinner!
Been here several times recently. The husband and wife owners are terrific. This is an "Old World" white table cloth type place. Our server treats you like you are her relative. Our server has been the owners wife each time. She is one of the friendliest people I have ever met. Her wine and menu recommendations have been great. We've enjoyed the Scampi and several other appetizers each visit. My wife has had the Ravioli and Chicken dishes. My friend has tried several homemade pasta dishes. All the pasta is homemade. I had the Salmon Vesuvio this past Thursday. Best I've ever had. I've been passing this place for years and finally decided to try it. Wish I done this years ago. We will definitely make this place one of our regular stops.
Been her several times now. This is about as "old world" original Italian as it gets. The pasta is all home made and beats all other places we've been to in Chicago. The appetizers (Shrimp Scampi, stuffed mushrooms, bruchetta) are all wonderful. I enjoyed the homemade gnocchi . My wife and friend had wonderful pasta dishes also. My wife and friend shared beautifully prepared and presented desert. Angela, our host and server is like a wonderful Italian sister, mom or grandma depending on your age. She recommended a wonderful wine and we enjoyed lots of it. This is really a beautiful place run by Angela and her husband. We pass this place almost every day driving between Skokie and all the great restaurants in Lincoln Square. Don't know why it took us so long to stop and try Via Veneto. We really like this place and they didn't even have tom pay us for this review.
One word: AMAZING!
Great restaurant for all occasions. Amazing food, service, ambiance.
Perfect Italian food and great service. One of my new favorite restaurants!

I am never disappointed. Food and service are aways excellent. The bread is delicious.
Hadn't been back for several years.Wanted a convenient place to share an evening with
dear friends. Remembered Via Veneto...and it didn't disappoint! Cool, comfortable and
the food was wonderful! We will back!
Great food and service. Very friendly staff and very accommodating to our two children. We all ate until we were full and left with two more meals worth of food in to go bags. Great neighborhood restaurant and quality Italian food. I would recommend the Calimari as a starter it rivals the best Chicago has to offer.
10 out of 10 experience we'll be back!👍🏻
Always a great lunch place.
This is a gracious old-world Italian restaurant reminiscent of another era.
It was a snowy day and the restaurant wasn't crowded for lunch, however, the food was great. The bread was fresh and delicious. The homemade minestrone was light and fragrant. The shrimp were excellent.
It was my friend's birthday, and our server brought, on her own initiative, a delicious dessert with a message written in chocolate. We will definitely go back.
Delicious food and wine. Very enjoyable dinner!!!
After being a frequent diner here for a long time, we were very disappointed in just about everything. Hope it was just an aberration.
good food, attentive service, basic Italian done well. great for a family meal
Pleasantly surprised that this great restaurant was open New Years Day! Even more surprised that they had a zucchini spaghetti dish on special - delicious! And... Panna Cotta!!! Yum!
Food was delicious. I recommend the veal parmigiano. Our waiter was personable and helpful with the menu. It being NYE I was nervous about available seating, but my wife and I were sat in a booth that was comfortable enough for two more guests. Price points were very reasonable but the food didn't suffer. All around a great experience and a great, unpretentious neighborhood restaurant.
Excellent homemade Italian!! We adore the family who runs this restaurant.
Delicious food and pleasant staff.
Is consistent quality and good size portions.
Was a wonderful Christmas Eve find!!
This is my neighborhood go to place for great Italian food. the owner and wait staff couldn't be more accommodating and friendly. We always feel welcome and well taken car off. It is no wonder we have become "regulars".
Great food always! I have always enjoyed my meals here!!!!!!
This is one of my favorite neighborhood Italian dining spots. They have a wonderful wine selection and the food is better than home made. The pasta special I had was a pumpkin lasagna, it was delicious. My dining companions had a veal pasta dish with a pink tomato sauce and the spaghetti bolognese. We all enjoyed our dishes. We all shared a chocolate mousse cake, another yummy taste sensation. We all agreed that we cannot wait to return.
We love this place - it is our neighborhood and we go here for dinner often.
The food here was delicious and authentic; however, after waiting at the door for 5 minutes we had to track down someone to seat us. The front desk area where the hostess was supposed to be was a mess with piles of old papers. Overall it was just an odd atmosphere.
This is the place to go for delicious Italian food in a welcoming atmosphere. Standard fare is a cut above expectations. Unusual menu offerings were eclipsed by imaginative specials. Service was warm and friendly. We've only eaten here a few times, but it has become our favorite place.
