Everything was perfection! Beef/truffle carpaccio was life-changing!
It's our favorite restaurant in LA. We come here on special occasions and we send all our friends here. We have important business dinners here. Once again the food and atmosphere were perfect. We had champagne and wonderful wine. The one thing that was super sad was the burned, bitter asparagus served served with our delicate fish. When I pointed it out to the waiter he basically said "well, if you ever had asparagus before... that's what it tastes like". We didn't eat it but they still charged us for this side dish. In my opinion that is small minded. It was a $7 side dish on a $250 dinner for two - and we go here a lot. Left a bitter after taste to an otherwise perfect experience.
The best Italian dinner in Los Angeles. Authentic and romantic setting
Most awesomest cut of beef fillet I’ve had in a while. Def a step above and very good quality and quantity for the $. Not an $80 for three ravioli type of place. A little more oily on some dishes than you might expect, but my other diners who had been to Italy alot said this was standard. But, not greasy at all and we left feeling really happy.
No bar, music a little loud only negatives.
Always great pasta and now tomahawk steak!
One of LAs best
First and last time we will go there. Spent $200 for 2 people and we were rushed out after 1 hour 10 minutes. Small restaurant so may have needed the table but then book reservations further apart. We did not leave with a good feeling at all. Could have eaten at a pizza joint for a 10th of the price and same amount of time without getting pushed out.
Via Veneto is a very dark, romantic restaurant with candles on the tables. Most everything we ordered was delicious, but I do have one complaint. The maitre d', who took our order, explained that they were offering a ravioli appetizer consisting of four different kinds of ravioli, two of each on the plate. We did not want to overeat, and wanted to share one appetizer. He said we had to order it as it came, so we went ahead and did so. When the bill came, we discovered that that dish was priced at $37! I truly think that is excessive for a first course, and also that we easily could have split one. We ordered plenty of other food, and it is not a cheap restaurant by any means. We felt that we were being taken advantage of. I would not go back.
The entire evening was lovely from the moment we arrived. The food was excellent and served beautifully. We enjoyed every dish- don’t miss the cacio e Pepe- and can’t wait to return.
Truly one of the best Italian restaurants in LA!
One of the best restaurant in town
table too small. overcrowded room food was 7/10 and wine was delicious.
Amazing food and atmosphere, a true Italian with Italian servers in the westside.
Via Veneto is one of my favorite Italian restaurants in LA. They have a few dishes that are truly transcendent: Lobster ravioli -- I need the entire bread basket to mop up the sauce. Their pannacota is the BEST I have had outside of Florence. Their scampi shrimp & white bean soup is filled with herbs that make is unbelievable. It's beautiful inside with the chandeliers and candle light. The staff is from Italy. They just do everything exceptionally well. Every experience I have ever had at Via Veneto has been outstanding.
Reminded me of being in Italy. The food was excellent!!!
Good for a quieter, conversational atmosphere. Excellent food - the gnocchi was tremendous!
Great wine !
Lovely food wine and service, and the ambiance
Great romantic date place. True candlelight dinning.
An absolutely beautiful place with amazing food and service! Highly recommended!!
Impeccable food and service. A great restaurant for a romantic meal. Gratzi!
Great little gem in Venice, amazing food and great service! Place is busy and its good to make a reservation ahead. One of the best I have had as far as italian food. My favorite pumpkin ravioli yam!!!
Excellent food, beautiful restaurant. Via Veneto can be a special event destination, or also a perfect spot for a cozy dinner for 2.
Love Via Veneto for its design - great crystal chandeliers and candlelight - a welcome, different feel for LA. The food is very good. But don’t go on a Saturday night. The service can be dreadful. And tables are so close together, that you have to want to make friends with the folks next door. We did and even shared wine. It took us over an hour to get our entree - and when I asked the waiter, he shrugged and said it was very busy in the kitchen. No excuse. They have been around a long time, are busy every weekend (if not always) and know how to run a kitchen correctly. Either stop overbooking to where the kitchen is so slammed or apologize better to guests or offer something to compensate. It’s a great place with some delicious food, but every guest wants to feel cared for - part of the dining experience at this price point.
Via Veneto is the kind of white tablecloth, candles on the table restaurant that, one would think, attracts a crowd with a sense of propriety. The descriptions online all say "dressy." It's not.
Granted, it's been around longer than the Silicon Beach crowd which can spend $150 per person and not notice it. Yet it would be nice if they spent some of that money on attire.
Why mention this before the food? Because my enjoyment of a meal involves decor, noise level, sight lines -- not just what's on the plate. So when I'm... dressy... and everyone around me is in t-shirts, torn jeans, and baseball caps (worn throughout the meal), I'm distracted. I start to wonder whether the other patrons are mutants or whether they know they look no different than the homeless people along Main Street.
Oh, don't try to check the menu on their website. It goes through a twelve-step program of getting ever-narrower and then vanishes completely.
Now... the food on that menu. I wish it justified its price. The zucchini flowers had sufficient piquancy, but the prosciutto with grape tomatoes and bufala (which was switched to mascarpone) lacked any perceptible taste. The blandness of the cheese eliminated the flavor of the ham and tomatoes.
The lamb chops were cooked perfectly, and the seasoning was complementary. Yet the Dover Sole was unremarkable; grilled without any distinction.
The vegetables (which are separate menu items) could have come from a steam tray in high school. The asparagus seemed devoid of seasoning, and the spinach tasted as if they found its flavor, extracted it, and threw it away.
The wine list is expansive and expensive. Even for geeks. We did find a very good Italian white which added to the taste of the food.
Dessert was a tartufo-like concoction that went well with coffee and port. The service?Perfunctory. Maybe, being "dressy," they thought we were staff. If there's a next time, we'll wear beach clothes... to look more like the other patrons.
Terrific food and service. Thank you. Excellent server from Milan.
Excellent everything. Authentic Italian.
Still a winner every time I go. Eye rolling good. Osso Bucco was excellent, carbonara can't be beat. Best italian food I know of and its an hour drive for me but we find a way to get there once a month.
Beautiful room, great food.
Had a great time with my wife. We loved the food!
You get what you pay for at Via Veneto. Great food service and ambience. A tad expensive but very romantic and fun.
The place is beautiful, food very good but a bit pricey for what it is and the portions.
It was too bad the owner had an attitude when we didn’t all order appetizers.( we had some beforehand and were not hungry enough!)
Amazing from start to finish. NYE meal featuring white truffle. Trust me...make the splurge.
Beautiful spot with great service and average food.
Wow! This is the best Italian food I have eaten since leaving Italy! Max, our waiter, was knowledgeable, fun, attentive, and a true asset to this restaurant. The tiramisu was light and airy. The wine list is extensive and Max was very knowledgeable about the wines and made a perfect suggestion. Risotto was memorable! A very wonderful evening and a must eat!
Their Food was very expensive for the amount and quality.
Amazing fine dining Italian fare! Exceptional wine list, ambiance spectacular... foodie paradise
Amazing evening! Fantastic food and service. Wines were awesome. Great for special occasions.
