   Food, service ,and ambience was great , I’ll go there again , the only thing that upset me was the $35.00 glass of house wine that I had x2 that’s $70.00 for two glasses of house wine.

    Absolutely beautiful ambiance with magnificent crystal chandeliers. The service is consistently excellent. Best tomato sauce in town. The parmigiana is perfection. Ravioli sampler is always a taste treat. Loved the Kansas City aged steak too with black truffle mashed potatoes and sautéed spinach which wasn’t over seasoned with garlic like some restaurants. Every meal at Via Veneto feels like a special occasion.

    Arrogant and Overpriced…..another LA restaurant trying to be truly Italian. As my friend and I were leaving, I heard the manager say to another couple seated at a different table “they are finally leaving” so you can have their table now. Rude…the place was empty and a manager shouldn’t be speaking to guests about other guests. For the price we should have been able to stay all night in an empty restaurant.

    Had an amazing dinner (eggplant parmigiana), so delicious, my favorite! Spent some great time with my daughter, her boyfriend and my brother. Great service, great food and a beautiful restaurant in Santa Monica just a block from the beach. It’s my favorite Italian restaurant outside of Italy!

    Food was cold, not great, fancy and not worth the cost. Gnochi was tasteless and the Bolognese. It had a great wine selection but the food wasn’t great. The appetizers were amazingly good. The food also had two strings of hair which isn’t great

    This was our first time here as well as our Valentine’s celebration. Everything was exceptional. Service was gracious and professional. Food was spectacular and traditional Italian. The place is gorgeous and we couldn’t have been happier. Will gladly return.

    I read the reviews of this restaurant, and I decided on this restaurant because my sin was coming home with his girlfriend and I felt the occasion called for more than the SM staples. I was pleasantly surprised by the quaintness of this restaurant. Our first question was what eine to pick. I like California wines, and the waiter said he thought they were out of it. He brought me a pinor noir, and it was not as full body as other pinor noise I've had, and I have no idea how much the bottle cost...but it was light like what we were ordering. I noticed the color was thin. The bread came and it was just OK. The waiter made us a sampler plate of ravioli. It was exciting. I really enjoyed the different ravioli and I love bolonaise and was looking so forward to it, butvit fell a little short. Of all the Italian Restaurants in town, Guidos has the best..... I wanted to try the dessert but I was too full. The kids ordered the sides-- you can't go wrong with red and white fingerling potatoes. It waa a great experience and I really enjoyed it. It was expensive. The total bill was about $500. So here is what I have to say.. There is Melisse and Citron. Just as expensive and you have a 2-time michelin star chef. FIA, the same. You're paying for something superb. This restaurant is not on that category for the price. Would I go back, yes because it's an amazing atmosphere and very enjoyable, the food is good but know why you're going.

    Via Veneto is pricey in the extreme, but those who eat here apparently could not care less. Food & service are at the top of the scale. We have dined here each time we visit Santa Monica and have never been disappointed. The most critical feature, of course, is the cuisine, and its quality is sublime. Personal recommendation (when they offer it): the special consisting of 3 ravioli that is a palette crusher in the nicest sense. You go on from there. At the end, your budget is busted, but do you care?

    Brought my sister in law for dinner here with my wife, they loved it and I have to say the prime beef carpaccio with truffles from Alba and the langoustine were both out of this world. Already made plans to come back here with some clients in a few weeks

    Eclectic spot , extensive expensive wine list , tuna/salmon crudo was fine/good , jidori chicken was excellent. Would come back some day. We arrived early for an early reservation while set up was still happening and the gentlemen running the front of the house sat us at a couch on the outside seating w a bottle of water, nice touch.

    We have been to this restaurant before and wanted to return for the beautiful ambience and amazing authentic Italian flavors. We were so disappointed on our second visit. The service was not only poor but unforgiving. The food literally took over an hour to come out. We saw guest after guest get served (a few couples) that arrived well after us. We finally nudged the waiter to check on our order and the food finally came out begrudgingly. It wasn’t so much the fact that the food took a long time it was the attitude and cockiness as if we offended them that we were asking. No apology, no effort to make things right. Now we both lose! The restaurant loses our repeat business; we eat out all the time and recommend places to others because our friends know we dine out often and we lose out on a dining option. Sadly, we will never return.
