The most over priced restaurant in Los Angeles
Had a lovely romantic dinner sitting outside on the patio this week. The special appetizer pasta was delicious (pumpkin, lobster and asparagus) but was confusing as it ended up being $54 for 2 people when we understood it to be one appetizer divided for 2 people. The Branzino had lots of flavor and was paired nicely with the spinach. My husband had Veal Scaloppini and broccolini which was delicious. This was all pleasantly washed down with a nice bottle of Brunello.
We have been regular diners there for years. Was one of our favorite restaurants.
Three comments by waiter while ordering that the chef wouldn’t allow this or that. Things that were never an issue before. We almost left. Not what you would expect at such a quality restaurant.
Quality of food was not at previous levels. appetizers not so tasty.
All three Pastas ordered were too dry. Not the right amount of sauce/oil. Spaghetti Vongole, the Vongole although a fair amount did not appear to be Veracchi. There were only 3 empty shells on the plate.
Main dishes were the Sole. Fortunate Sole was delicious.
Don’t know if we will return.
I went here for my birthday recently, and my girlfriends and I got the royal treatment. The chef personally came out several times giving us tastings of things we didn’t order I addition to what we did. Everything was spectacular, flavorful, and authentic. I would highly recommend this spot to anyone who is able to spend some money on an amazing culinary experience. The staff is very friendly and on it when it came to taking orders, giving refills, etc. The wine selection is top notch as well.
Exceptional Dover sole! Eggplant parm appetizer was excellent.
They have a super cute build out on the sidewalk and great food!
Food and service was superb! However, due to COVID, all tables are outside on the street and the car noise was loud.
Really great food and really great service. The outdoor seating area was also well set up - they had comfortable seat coverings and heat lamps.
Had a great dinner here. We felt very safe and every staff person was friendly and helpful. The food was delicious!
The food was delicious! Everything is currently out door dining so they did a great job at trying to keep the vibe the same. Excellent service.
Outdoor dining at its best. As always, great food. A little pricey, but worth the money. Can’t wait until we can go back indoors to enjoy some of the finest Italian food in Los Angeles.
The ambiance was terrific. We sat on the enclosed patio and felt perfectly safe (Covid). The food and service was escellent. Would recommend this place to everyone.
The best Italian food in Los Angeles. Would prefer to dine indoors to enjoy the intimate restaurant but with the quality of the food we will settle for street side dining.
This was my first time. The food and service were excellent. It was quite windy and chilly as we were doing outdoor dining. The heat laps and chair cushions helped. It is pricey and a great place for a special occasion.
We had a lovely time in the outdoor dining. Our food was delicious and well timed. Our server helped us pick out great bottles of wine to go with dinner and we had just the most lovely evening out. We had two specials, the bone-in rib eye and truffle ravioli, and three menu items, the grotto misto, the bolognese, and cacio y pepe. We will definitely be heading back.
Love this place so much its very special , authentic Italian food. Ate out front on Main street , it was chilly but they had heat lamps. Ate the barata appetizer, then the special fish and pasta dishes. The food is exceptional! It's a little expensive but it's so delicious and worth every penny!
Didn’t keep the reservation time. Service was alright. A bit rude towards the end of our service.
The food was as amazing as usual !!!
We love this place !!
Fabulous langoustine pasta! Amazingly delicate stuffed and fried zucchini blossums.
Excellent food, extensive wine list, and outstanding staff. Classy (even eating outside) and delicious every time. Make it your "Special Night" dinner spot.
Bad seating even though we had reservations people that got there without got better seating. Some of the items were missing off the menu.
Via Veneto did a wonderful job making us feel comfortable and safe dining outside. Their outdoor space is cozy and warm. The food was fabulous as usual. I highly recommend this restaurant during these crazy times!
The quality of food and service never disappoints
The food, staff, and wine were all amazing. I almost like the outside covid dining set up better than when I had gone before and dined inside.
molto bene!! always the best. sitting out al fresco, if you squinted a little it felt like a piazza. truffle menu was exquisite.
Tables all at a safe distance and a nice area to sit outside. Delicious food - our favorite for pasta in the area! Langoustines are amazing.
We always come to this restaurant for special occasions. Fantastic as always!
Best homemade pasta ever! Great service!
LeRoi and I love your wonderful staff and the amazing food :) xo victoria
Amazing Italian food as always. Love this restaurant gem.
My favorite go-to restaurant in the neighborhood. Feels like you're in Italy - somewhere in Venice or Florence. Food is just as good!
Wonderful. The food was amazing!
Staff was great and they did pretty good with the outdoor setting. Of course not as cozy as indoor but that isn’t allowed right now. It’s Main Street Santa Monica so a little noisy with the cars and buses but I am happy to endure to support them and to have that unbelievable food. The ravioli soup was to die for!
You can’t beat the food there. Service was a little wishy washy that night but usually pretty good.
This seems like a petty complaint but the tables are much too small for the size plates they use to serve the food. The plates were hanging off the table.
Very disappointed in this meal.
Main dish was a 4$45 sea bass with no flavor, tasteless.
From an Italian restaurant, the cappuccino was completely disappointing.
The staff was very professional and attentive.
Bottom line: front of house, very good. Kitchen, marginal at best.
Excellent food, service, experience. And everyone stop complaining about the fact that the restaurant like every other LA restaurant has to make do with exclusively outdoor service. Yes, you are not inside and there is street noise and traffic. It is not the restaurant's doing nor fault.
Good food but wine overpriced. When they went through wine list they were recommending a $258 bottle of wine (did not ask what price range I was looking for).
Very inflexible when ordering. They had a ravioli appetizer special. We tried to order one, they said both of us needed to order it. Asked if they could put in some garlic in a pasta dish and answer was no. When pasta arrived, asked for parmesan cheese and they said no. REALLY!!!.
My waiter Maximillian is the best and so do the bus boys.
The people there are serious about food. Their love for Italian cuisine is so obvious. Absolutely loved!
