We will go back to this place someday because the food is exquisite, and both the wine list and ambiance are top shelf. However - and I'm assuming this is due to the post-pandemic labor shortage - our server really had no business working in a restaurant like this. He was obviously inexperienced, communicated in clipped sentences, and was generally gave us what can be diplomatically described as clumsy service. I specifically requested that our dishes be served one at a time and in the order we requested them. I had originally requested that we order one dish at a time but was informed that we had to advise the kitchen of every dish we wanted, which I've never heard of before, especially at a restaurant of this caliber. We informed of our choices, requested they be brought one at a time and in that order, but our server didn't write any of this down. Within 5 minutes, two dishes arrived and I immediately explained to the captain/sommelier that we were NOT in a hurry; things got slowed down after that, although the order of the dishes got spun out a bit. Eventually, the runners and other staff took very good care of us. Interestingly, we ended up ordering another dish very late in our meal and the kitchen managed to get that out without issue, so I'm not sure where our guy was coming from with the demand that we front load our order.
Nonetheless, the food that comes out of this kitchen will literally inspire you to lick the plate. Crab and watercress salad and burrata caprese to start, both prepared to perfection. Scallops with truffle beure blanc that was so rich and savory I can't adequately describe; pumpkin ravioli with sage butter sauce that actually melted in our mouths. Truffle risotto so rich and aromatic it finished for over over a minute like a great wine. Veal al' limone - such a simple and commonly available dish but here - velvety lemon sauce, rich with stock and butter and the most tender veal you can imagine. Bravo!
It was our first time here and I am glad to have chosen that place for our romantic night out. Food was delicious and very well prepared. Service was nice and very timely. Overall we had an amazing experience.
We had such a lovely dinner at Via Veneto. The food was fantastic. The tastes of the risotto with porcini mushrooms and the grilled langostini linger in my mind. We can’t wait to go back and try more dishes.
Very friendly and attentive service, the food was excellent. Great crostini appetizer and the risotto was superb.
Intimate environment. Nice winelist, though there could be a few more availabilities by the glass. Unless you're not price sensitive, ask before ordering any of the specials or you may get a surprise at the end.
Exquisite food and ambiance. Waitstaff attentive & charming.
Wonderful in every way.
Exceptional dinner. Authentic Italian dishes . Perfect sauces. Octopus was outstanding.
Not worth the money.
Amazing place ,amazing food.
Maximillian was the best waiter I’ve ever had.
Best place in LA
Beautiful experience. Thanks.
Wonderful as always! We would love to see the portobello antipasti and the batutta di carne back on the menu.
Always the best :)
Lovely first time experience on a beautiful summer evening. Dined outdoors. Everyone’s food was properly prepared and delicious. Lovely, professional waiter. We will be back!
Great food and wine. Nice selection of specials!
Mauro and Via Veneto team made our anniversary a special one.
Amazing food and service as always!
Absolutely outstanding dining experience! The food was wonderful and the service outstanding. We had an appetizer of stuffed & fried zucchini flowers, porcini mushroom risotto and lobster spaghetti. Each one delicious.
Our server paced the meal perfectly. Really professional and friendly without being intrusive. The entire staff seemed to work really well together.
Prices are slightly on the high side but its so good I'll be going back soon. Corkage is $50.00 and you are limited to one bottle.
The restaurant was beautiful as I expected from other images. I wasn’t very impressed by the service as when I first arrived I felt I was bothering them. The prices are very high, however your paying for the experience I would assume. The menu was limited when it came to food or traditional Italian, as my daughter wanted a chicken dish and nothing was available. However if you are looking for a special date night with a loved one might be worth it. I did appreciate the real burning candles, as they burned down and they where quickly replaced.
Everything was just perfect the food and wine delicious.
Very authentic. Extensive menu, with something for vegetarians, GF, etc. Lovely adaptations for outdoor dining and Covid consciousness.
We liked it a lot. Recommend.
We’ve had Michelin star meal with bottle of wine for much cheaper price in Italy (Ostuni) so I think the value for price is little over blown here. The food was generally okay and the service was fine given the place was totally full. The gnocchi blu was way too soft so I wouldn’t recommend anyone get it. The soup was same quality as canned minestrone. Wine was decent.
Fantastic experience Nd great food and service. And an extraordinary wine list. Mauro was a gracious and welcoming host. Truly a memorable experience. Will definitely be back.
The food was wonderful, as always, and the waiters were very attentive and pleasant.
absolutely flawless from start to finish the best food in all of Los Angeles maybe the country
Awesome and authentic
Service was not only hard to get but was rude when we got it. Without exaggeration, the waiter said "are you going to let me finish" when one of our guests asked a question about one of the specials.
Food was okay. Lobster ravioli good. Purple gnoci was pretty bad.
Excellent food great staff looking forward to going back.
Truly great food in a lovely environment. As always, the entire experience was superb
Another great experience. Traditional Italian cuisine. Unique dishes. Fantastic service!
The meal was outstanding. The service was also first-rate. It was expensive but a worthwhile splurge.
The food is truly delicious! I had the scallops with truffles, risotto with truffles, and the spaghetti with lobster, which was divine, and they had gluten free pasta that night. My mouth was in heaven.
Food was excellent. Ambiance remarkable. We chose outdoor dining and there was some annoying traffic noise. A small price to pay. .
Everything about this experience was outstanding. The food, the service, the wine, the ambiance. We took the full recommendations of our server and we were extremely delighted by every aspect of our dinner. Grazie Mille!
Beautiful dining experience. Outstanding food, wonderful service.
Service was fantastic! Food was delicious- perfect portions with tons of flavor!
Very romantic setting and excellent service.
Love love love Via Venito! The food, ambiance and service are always amazing. Once again, Via Venito made for a wonderful, romantic and delicious evening. For anyone who wants a great night out...go here!
Via Veneto is my favorite Italian restaurant west of Italy. In fact, it's the only place where I know the food will always make me feel I'm actually back in Rome. It's the best.
Our waiter was great he made wonderful recommendations for me and my friends that made the night extra special. The food and ambience were fantastic. We will be coming back for sure.
