What Insiders Are Saying
Santa Monica locals love the classic and fancy Italian at Via Veneto.
The food was amazing! Very romantic atmosphere. The only thing I would say they could improve upon is having more space in between the tables. We felt kinda crammed in. Overall wonderful experience.
Restuarant was nice with good food and good service. We will go back!
We enjoyed the food, but it was a bit pricy. Sides were very small - not shareable. Desserts were delicious.
Best dinner on this 4 day trip to Venice beach. Classic Italian cuisine with fresh ingredients, had the octopus pasta which had a delicate taste and texture. The maitre was impeccable and the wait staff efficacious. We salute this restaurant for having an expansive menu instead of just pasta and pizza others in the area offer.
Outstanding service, outstanding food. A little pricey, but quite honestly worth it.
Fantastic meal. Incredible ambiance and service. Highly recommend for an date or special occasion or a Tuesday!
Horrible service. Never been to a
Place that bad. Expecting a nice dinner for our anniversary turned out being a bad experience. Very disappointed.
The food, wine, service, location and overall experience was beyond amazing. I would definitely r to a friend but dont know if I want to and keep it to myself. Lol.
Very romantic setting but the prices significantly high der the fodd they serve
Our go to for exceptional dining in Santa Monica, thanks for being here and sharing important days in our lives!
Everything was awesome!
The food was delicious. But we had to wait 30 minutes after our reservation for a table and then felt rushed throughout the meal. On any other occasion this would have been okay but I’d let them know ahead of time we selected the restaurant to celebrate our anniversary.
Absolutely fantastic. A+++ service, food was phenomenal, service exceptional. Love this place.
Great food! I go every time i'm in the LA area. Wait staff is amazing and the food is ridiculously good
We were placed at a table next to steep staircase and the swinging door of the kitchen. Servers were carrying dishes that barely missed hitting my husband’s
Highest quality ingredients including fresh white truffles. Exquisitely delicious dinner. Excellent wine selection. Portion size is just right. Service is in unhurried Italian style; don’t come if you are short of time.
We were celebrating our daughter’s recent engagement. Our reservations were confirmed however when we arrived, a few minutes early, we were nonchalantly given the nearest table for four and the person seating us unable to find our reservation. When ordering our appetizers we discussed, amongst ourselves but waiter nearby, ordering a prosciutto dish along with two other dishes but decided to order only the latter two - not the prosciutto. While ordering, our waiter was visibly distracted- this is a very small restaurant. He also had a large group seated upstairs. He did however repeat our order & clarify one of the two dishes with us. When the appetizers arrived via another server, the prosciutto was in place of one of the others we ordered. We explained we did not order this dish. The server was not happy. Our waiter arrived and when told, was not happy- with us! He told me, under his breath, that yes, indeed, we did order this dish! We all at our table have worked in the service industry and cannot condone either of their behaviors. While I can somewhat tolerate a nonchalant, disaffected, underwhelmed greeting certain restaurants feel is key to their ambience, a rude waitstaff simply spoils the the art of the chef.
We have been to Via Veneto several times. Sadly, we are moving away to the midwest and this was a must-go one more time before we move. I can say with certainty that we will be coming back every time we are in town. The staff is outstanding, friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and not annoying or in your face too much. The food is spectacular, especially the pasta dishes. One of the specials was asparagus ravioli in a cream sauce and I could eat it again everyday for the rest of my life! Highly recommend!
Superb prego!!!! We had a super fantastic time. The veal Milanese omg. And fresh ravioli sampler. Yum!
Loved it ... absolutely absolutely go back🧡
Food was EXCELLENT! Great ambiance. Charming. QUIET! Service was wonderful.
Authentic Italian cuisine.
The food was delicious. I was extremely impressed by the octopus carpaccio. My pasta was cooked perfectly. I enjoyed it very much. Good for date night, special occasions.
Food is delicious. Just a bit cramped, not much room but worth it. Service was also great!
This restaurant is very romantic, and the food and service are excellent.
Wow! First time at this restaurant, but absolutely not the last. The food was delicious, the wine list extensive, and the service exceptional. That being said, do not make a reservation here if you're in a hurry or tight on time. Come here with lots of time to enjoy the company you're with, a glass or 2 or 3 of one of their fantastic wines, and to savor every morsel of every course. Plan on at least 2.5 hours. For appetizers, the Burrata Caprese or Frito Misto are delicious. As a main course, I picked the Zafferano e Salsiccia Rissoto with saffron rice and homemade Iberico pork sausage - to die for. While my husband and son enjoyed the Pata Negra ragout pasta, they both agreed I had made the best selection. The desserts are also delicious. All in all, a wonderful meal and a wonderful, unrushed evening.
Amazing for a date. So romantic and the pasta was insanely good.
I love everything about This restaurant, especially the variety of the menu. Simply stated, great food!!!
If I lived closer, I would be at Via Venetto every week.
Expensive, but worth it. Great food and ambience. Only two problems: we ordered tap water, and had difficulty getting the waiters to refill. Also, we ordered a special where the price was more than twice anything on the menu, and the waiter did not mention that. That said, it involved white truffles and we probably should have known.
The perfect Italian restaurant: Cozy, quiet, great menu, great staff.
My husband brought me here for the first time on New Years, everything was perfect! The food was amazing and the service was proficient. I highly recommend the lobster pasta and the sole!
Our dinner was okay but expected more given the prices. The service was the issue. Nothing is more unprofessional than a waiter repeatedly coming back to our table and asking what we want for dessert after being told several times we will order after our wine is finished. I dont think at 10:30 PM they were still turning tables. It was clear they wanted us out.
Good food and impressive wine list but the extremely poor service by the waiters makes this place unattractive. We went here for the food not for the waiters though they seemed to think they were entitled to guests not priviliged. Definetely not going back and definitely not recommending to others.
Great everything except we felt pressured to leave quickly after finishing. We had an early New Years Eve dinner, but still, it was a Very expensive meal and we should not have been pressured to leave quickly.
Very pricey. Exceptional meal.
The food is excellent--one of if not THE best Italian restaurants I've been to. Pricey but worth it. Have been dining here since 2010. The food, people and ambiance reminds me of my travels to Italy.
First visit. Had a reservation. Saturday night. Place was packed. Greeted at the door. I had the burrata to start, followed by the salmon with a side of Swiss chard, finished with a tiramisu. My kids had the fettuccine bolognese. My wife had a large lunch, so just ordered a lobster salad. We also ordered a bottle of sauvignon blanc. Started a little iffy, with an aggressive (cross-sell / up-sell) waiter. Some waiters are expert at putting you at ease, setting a tone for the meal, while this one put us a little on edge to start. He mellowed as we went, and we really started to enjoy the meal as the food came out. The food is the star here. The pasta was fresh and home made. The salmon was exceptionally good. Not a bad bite all evening. Our sincere compliments to the kitchen. Bravo. Constructive criticism: The wine menu was a bit thin and marked up, but passable. Bottom line: Highly recommend Via Veneto.
It was one of the most pleasant dinners I’ve had in a long time.
Amazing food, ambience and service. My favorite restaurant in LA
