Family owned, it's menu features many signature dishes such as "The Fettuccine Mama Munda," a recipe passed through generations to the restaurant's owner. Their original dishes are complimented by their freshly made Sangria and innovative cocktail list.
With the restaurant floor set three feet above street level, it's elegant floor to ceiling windows allow patrons to look out at one of New York's trendiest neighborhoods while enjoying their meal. Additional seating can be found in our cozy party room which provides patrons with a more personal dining experience or in our in extremely popular outdoor section that opens during the summer months.
Tutto perfetto. Personale gentile. Piatti buoni.
Enjoyable authentic Italian. Cozy
Excellent classic Italian in east village, NYC. My guests thoroughly enjoyed the food and service during our business lunch meeting.
Excellent food! Excellent staff! Cozy environment! I highly recommend Via Della Pace.
Let's start with saying that the food is really good. We had assorted bruschetta, house made pasta and house made desserts, all very enjoyable. Seating is very cramped and I was pushed every time someone walked behind me. Service was disappointing. For some reason, we were not allowed to order our appetizers until we were ready to order the entire meal, or at least that's what we understood from the server's incomprehensible explanation. Also she hardly ever checked back on us, we had to actively look for her if we needed anything. I also noticed several times that the various servers did not seem to be able to keep track of orders properly, i.e. bringing items to the wrong table or bringing a duplicate order to the same table and then taking it back. It's hard for me to decide whether I will go back.
The one disappointment was they did not have our reservation- we got lucky that 1 table was open - sounds like an issue between open table and the restaurant
We always take family to VDP when they’re in town. They’ve all come to love it as much as we do. Giovanni and Fam are the BEST. Go Pack Go!!!
Giovanni is a great host. La pasta era deliziosa. Bravi
Our third visit here, and very disappointing. The food, as with prior visits, was outstanding. The service, however, was really bad. The staff was totally indifferent and ignored us other than to take our order and deliver our food. We ordered wine, and our meal was served before we got the wine. At no point did anyone check on the table to see if we were enjoying the meal (which we were). In summary: wonderful food, terrible service. I would not recommend this to a friend.
Mediocre food! We travel to Italy every year for the last 30 years and rarely get into a place where all four of us agree ! But there was no disagreements about Via Della Pace- food was very average!
We will not come back!
What a sweet place to eat! Great cocktails and food. Our server was amazing as well
Overall, great food from a great neighborhood restaurant
Good food but our table by door was terrible with the door opening and closing.
The meatball appetizer along witg the spaghetti entree was top of the line! Lobster ravioli was also solid. Just a fun evening meal all around!
Great food, great price, great atmosphere. Super friendly staff!
Best Italian I have had in a long time. Took my daughter and her friend to dinner we were all impressed. It was our first time. When we head back to the city we will be sure to dine there again.
Eccellente!
Food & ambiance was great. They played great music. Overall a great experience. Definately coming back! All my friends loved it too. If you are looking for a quiet night then I would go somewhere else.
Authentic Italian cuisine in an intimate environment at a reasonable price point.
I've been going to Via della Pace for years, and it continues to serve very good Italian food in a fun atmosphere. It's quite noisy, but so are most popular NYC restaurants of its size.
Enjoyed the Italian authenticity
We got parked downstairs which smelled a bit musty. Upstairs is way, way, better. Remember, this place only takes cash too.
the real Italian cuisine in NYC (said by an Italian D.O.C.) in a welcoming and exciting environment
Simpatia e buon cibo!
Really, my only reservation is the noise level. Otherwise a fine place, space, experience.
Great experience at Via Della Pace. Food was excellent and service was on point. For a great neighborhood Italian meal this is the place to go.
Absolutely FANTASTIC food. Prices were extremely modest for an NYC restaurant. Decor was very understated and old school but not an issue. Small restaurant was very loud but again, not an issue. Even if it was, the food and price make this a must go to place!
Food was amazing! Was celebrating a birthday and everyone was very accommodating.
It felt like being in Italy! Energetic atmosphere, lovely service and authentic Italian food and the prices are amazing! All pastas delicious and the bruschetta was amazing! We will be back very soon!
Great food for a fantastic price in NYC. Tight space but expected for a neighborhood restaurant. Highly recommend.
Amazing food with an amazing ambience at a great price!!!
Ottima cucina proprietario simpaticissimo che dire andate e provate. Un ultima cosa tiramisù fantastico
We loved the atmosphere. It was energetic. I would not recommend if you wanted a quiet place to talk. Food was delicious and portions are on the smaller to just right size. The wait staff tended to our needs.
The only thing that prevented me from giving it a 5 was we forgot to order sides. Perhaps if the wait staff reminded us, the experience would have been more complete.
Amazing Italian (Lazio) restaurant in East Village. Great food, service & atmosphere whether inside or outside. Best tables upstairs or on terrace :-) I booked the resto. & my wife loved the resto. & the area. Delicious affogato.
Vero Good food and location.
