Via Carducci - Wicker Park
A wonderful place and experience with excellent service
Neighborhood gem with an affordable food and drink menu. Perfect for a dates, a casual dinner with friends and family. I come here often since I live in the area and the food and service never disappoints. Enjoy a meal on their sidewalk patio once the weather warms up!
A perfect, quaint little Italian place. It was busy (Friday night, big wedding rehearsal party leaving as we arrived), so we had to wait just a bit before we were seated, but the staff was very attentive and good humored about everything. Food was fantastic (I'm still looking forward to the leftovers).
The margherita pizza was good but the pasta genovese and eggplant parmigiana wasn’t great.
Family dinner in Chicago. Large party with cocktails and wine. Very reasonable. Great food -nice ambiance . Everyone was pleased with their choice. Walking distance
Enjoyed our meal. All 4 of us enjoyed our entrees and the calamari and eggplant appetizers were very good as well. Reasonably priced bottles of wine. Small charming family owned feel and ambiance.
Always excellent food and the staff is exceptional
Excellent red pepper dish. Delicious margarita pizza. Bread is tasty. Great service.
We love Via Carducci. The food and service are always wonderful. On this particular occasion, however, it was very crowded and when the restaurant is full and you're waiting for a table, there's no place to comfortably wait -- so that's why I didn't give it 5 stars all around. They deserve to be packed on a Saturday night, and they can't help it that it's too cold to wait outside :)
Great food and service. Always a great experience.
My date & I went there for a late Valentine’s dinner and had a wonderful experience! The food was delicious and the service was impeccable. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys authentic Italian food.
Excellent food and service
One of my favorite restaurents in the city! I will definitely return. The waiters are fantastic!
Always have a wonderful experience here. The staff is very nice, the atmosphere is cozy and the food is always great. I always recommend this place.
Loved the food, service, and atmosphere! Will definitely come here again.
One problem in winter is the seal around the large windows is not sufficient; drafty.
Delicious meal. Enjoyed every bite. Excellent service.
Fabulous meal. Compliments to the chef.
Delicious pizza. Perfect. Great service. Good spot for meetings.
I really enjoyed this restaurant. I had a great time. I had a pasta dish with Italian sausage. My husband had chicken Vesuvio. We started with a polenta appetizer. Excellent service. Friendly atmosphere. Highly recommended.
Great food. Cozy place. Will definitely be back!!!
I took my adult children here for new year's eve dinner. given their diverse taste in food, the menu looked like a good fit. it turned out to be better than anticipated. everyone found something to order, and the food was excellent. the service was very attentive and there was great energy in the room. we will definitely find reasons to return.
Very nice meal, and great service by server Erik. Started with mixed green salads, had excellent, large, plump mussels in marinara, and shared the eggplant parm with side of pasta - delicious! Wine is reasonable by glass or bottle - had a glass of DaVinci chianti and a montepulciano that were terrific with dinner.
Spent my fourth Xmas Eve dinner here. The food this year was great and so was the service. It is very crowded and a bit too cramped on space. Having to go orders and the delivery drivers in and out was a bit irritating. They originally tried to seat my boyfriend and I in the side room, despite my reservation. This room was very small, dark, not decorated nicely like the main room, and absolutely no one was sitting in there. I asked to move and they told me that “luckily” a table cancelled so we can move into the main room. Overall a nice time.
This has to be my favorite italian restaurant in the city. Every time I come here I try something different and each time it's absolutely perfect. Highly recommended.
Great margarita pizza. Yummy. Great service.
We came in with our 2 and 4 year old children. Staff greeted us upon arrival and were very welcoming to us as a family with small children- offered special seating for kids right away etc.
Ambience was lovely! Dim lighting, mild noise level but not too quiet to be there with our kiddos. Beautiful holiday decor- beautifully decorated Christmas trees, small collection of nutcrackers, and two unique reindeer centerpieces at the bar with candles lit in their antlers.
Food was exceptional! The waiter even went above and beyond and has the chef make marinara sauce for our daughter who is allergic to dairy for some super yummy spaghetti. We had delicious salad and swordfish entree that was light yet satisfying.
Wonderful service. Patient. Accommodating. Kind.
We will definitely be back again.
Great food, was really please with the spicy pasta choices, super family style type of feel-drinks were a bit pricy for the taste but lots of real Italian options!
it was great! we had a relaxing birthday dinner. the food was delicious, the service was outstanding. the recommendations were spot on.
Via Carducci has been our "go to" at least once a week for years. For both the restaurant , especially in the summer with the large patio and live music from La Tosca on Tuesdays, a sort of italian gypsy jazz band. The food is good, sometimes very good and sometimes the specials are better than the regular fare. But overall , good food, Owner is from Italy so it is not too American Italian. and cozy , neighborhood feel. Service is good and attentive, and they also deliver and the pizza , especially the thin crust , is really good. I would recommend it for local dining , good for family and groups of friends.
Excellent food and the wait staff was very diligent. But it is a small space and very lively
It was a very nice, neighborhood-feel in a sea of places that arent genuine (wicker park cool is not very calming) younger crowd then average for Chicago, but nicely prepared food and well intentioned by the staff. They care about the food they serve and you can feel it. Great experience.
After reading other reviews I expected really great food. Instead the food was very heavily salted (even when I requested no salt), and very standard. The specials were fair, though I'd swear they used bottled "Italian dressing" on the salad served with scallops- and that destroyed the dish for us. The homemade ravioli were large bland cheese ravioli with a few slivered almonds. The pasta served with entrees seemed to be standard (ie grocery store quality) pasta.
The wine list was interesting with many Italian wines, but no vintage years. The wait staff were mostly attentive, though I had to flag down a server a few times and I walked up to pay my bill because the server never came back for it. Incredibly as we exited the hostess stopped me "to check that the table was OK"- wouldn't you think she might have done that before or even during our meal?
The ambience was that of a neighborhood bar with lots of noise, very cramped seating and two large screen TVs going continuously.
As always, food was great! Via never disappoints!
Our favorite place in the neighborhood! Amazing combination of delicious food and always friendly atmosphere! Definitely recommend and we definitely will be back!
Good food, good service, good place to relax and enjoy dinner.
My favorite restaurant in the Bucktown/wicker park are never disappoints and every staff member is amazingly appreciative and kind
The side room appears to be a well kept secret
Everything was awesome and delicious, all servers professional, but the very best was super professional and friendly bartender Viola !!!
Definitely will come back ASAP !!!!!
Highly recommended !!!!!
