Place was nice... my date was disappointing. Maybe I’ll have a better experience with someone else...lol
People next to us were arguing, so it was a bit ehh.
Food was good, I’ll probably come back
HORRIBLE SERVICE and Bad food. would not recommend.
I had a great time at Via Alloro. I was in Los Angeles for business, and it was recommended by my concierge at the hotel. The meal was delivered promptly, and it was delicious.
Better than sitting at the super busy Il pastaio and waiting for your table.
Here you have the same food, same recipes ( is their sister restaurant )
COVID-19 has completely changed our definition of a great restaurant. Indoor dining is not permitted and many restaurants have extended their tables to at least one traffic lane of busy streets. Via Alloro is an island of peaceful and relaxing pleasure in the current atmosphere of insanity. Tables are spaced properly, and separated by plexiglass shields. They are indoor, except that instead of roof, there are big umbrellas and protective devices that give the guests protection from the elements.
Service is measured and unhurried, food is sophisticated southern Italian, modified by introduction of seasonal delicacies such as white truffle pizza, or tagliatelle, (delicious). Wine list is superb and includes such great choices like Opus One, or Massi Amarone; but , also, affordable bottles, and great choices by the glass.
General Manager Giuseppe Molice, veteran of the world famous Valentino restaurant is now firmly in charge and running a perfect show. And occasionally you may find the great chef Giacamino Drago greeting the regulars personally!
Via Alloro is right now the best choice in Beverly Hills, for an enjoyable night out.
The food and service was amazing, it is always a great time at Via Alloro!
Unfortunately I made reservations on your open table for 10:00 but they do NOT Honor your reservations instead they seat people that walk in let’s just say I will never use your reservation app again!! The hostess was terribly rude to say that people were ahead of us by walk in reservations! We left standing for 30 mins left and made different reservations at the Beverley hills hotel polo lounge! Never will I eat at this restaurant with friends on a weekend!
A beautiful place and convenient valet parking with beautiful ambiance. Lentil Soup came a bit lukewarm - needed some seasoning. Pasta was good...bread was nice and warm.
Always a great experience and love the Drago boys so much!
We stopped by for a quick dinner on Sunday night and found the restaurant to be pretty good but not great. The service was excellent and the food was decent but perhaps we caught them on a slow night where they weren't diligent about dirty silverware, etc... To his credit, after we sent back forks and knives from the second course that looked barely washed, he personally shined each piece of silverware before each course thereafter.
The food was pretty good but suffers by comparison to other nearby options, particularly great Italian in the neighborhood. The menu is relatively standard with normal appetizers, risottos, pastas, meat courses, and desserts. We had a sliced meat appetizer (probably prosciutto but possibly carpaccio, three days later I honestly cannot recall so it was anything but memorable). Next we had the mushroom risotto that was cooked pretty well and had decent cheese but again, good not great. For dinner we had strozzapreti alla vodka (my favorite dish of the night) and a White Truffle veal for $125 that lacked creativity and did not have that many truffles for the price. White truffle is a delicate flavor that got pretty overwhelmed by the gravy on the veal. For dessert we opted for the cannoli and, unfortunately, true to the non-diligence above, the ones served to us were very heavy on the gran mariner that was apparently an effort to mask the fact that the ricotta had turned. We opted not to replace it. On the bright side, the waiter we had was charming and attentive and we tipped well for service. The busboys could use a Dale Carnegie course though.
Celebrating my 51st Birthday food great, service great
Great service , freindly staff ...
Pasta was perfect
Thanks to the wait staff for wearing masks, face shields and gloves to keep us safe.
What’s the deal with three tiny slivers pieces of bread - really —and you ask for more and get an attitude? This is supposed to be Italian! Pasta without bread or even a morsel.
Really disappointed. Not worth the price food very average taste - could cook better myself.
Also when your water glass is empty it’s a hint to fill it up. Maybe instead of having four hostesses and two managers walking the floor you could focus on the customer experience starting with bread and water!
Delicious food and excellent customer service
Great food and service! We had to wait for 30 minutes even though we had a reservation which was annoying. Almost left but was glad we stayed as service was great and good fantastic. We will be back!
PACCHERI PAPA DRAGO was good. Service is moderately slow......Wine selection is choice for reds......aside from not beijg able to escape the young and foreseeable dropped first picks, I had a great meal with a great bottle of wine and a great server this time around........
birthday lunch on the lovely and shaded patio! food great
Food was great and service too. Sat outside so the ambiance could have been better but I really liked it. I’ll be back!
This was our first time to this restaurant. We live close by but have never tried it as we have other Italian favorites. We were greeted very nicely by the hostess and only waited a few minutes and was taken to our table. Our waiter was prompt and professional as was all the staff. The food was delicious! I asked if they could make a veal Parmesan and they did and it was fabulous. The atmosphere outside was nice. The only thing we would like to see change is the music. It was very fast beat and was more like dance music instead of soft sexy music for dining. We will be back! Really nice first experience.
Consistently delivers good quality food and beverages.
This is one of the Drago family restaurants so I expect consistently. But our dinner this past Saturday night was disappointing. Our appetizer and entrees lacked taste and flavor. Hopefully, this was an off night for the chef.
We really like this restaurant, but the service is getting worse and our food was not that great last time.
They give you a hard time if something is over cooked or a problem with your dish, they still try and charge you. You would think the service staff would be happy working again with the Covid shut down but the waiters all seem a little miserable and not happy to be there. This place has so much potential!
Great pasta, perfect for all occasions
Very good. The Crab linguine is my favorite. Thank you for having us :)
My all time favorite Sicilian-style Italian spot in Bev. Hills. I had to wait even with a reservation and the service was somewhat slow, but overall, it was a fantastic night.
We were 9 minutes late for our reservation and so they made us wait 1 hour for a table.
The food was good but not great. Clean facilities and good waiter.
The homemade pasta is superb! Even the simplest dishes are wonderful and fresh tasting!
Food was amazing - service was amazing - people watching was amazing lol.
Via Alloro was a really nice restaurant in the heart of Beverly Hills. We went to celebrate my wife's birthday. We told the staff in advance it was her birthday and were excited to eat at the restaurant. We were originally placed at a small table that was really loud and looking at the street. We asked to be moved to the really beautiful courtyard because there were plenty of open spots and wanted a more pleasant environment for her birthday. We were able to be moved but they placed us right next to the bussing table that was super busy and people kept walking right next to us. There were other places we could have been sat but there should not have been a table here.
The food tasted great but while celebrating my wife's birthday, we were placed twice in areas that we were unable to have a good experience together. The servers didn't seem to look at us frequently, and also there was never any mention about my wife's birthday or celebration even after I brought it up multiple times.
Overall, the food tasted good but we were underwhelmed by where they sat us, the staff, and the price of the meal when the food was similar to a typical Italian restaurant.
We were given an incredible table at our exact reservation time. Our server Reno was outstanding and very patient. We never waited for anything. The food was incredible and tasty.
Excellent food and service! Will assuredly return soon!
Amazing! Vodka pasta is the best I’ve EVER had. A must try
Via Alloro has always been a favorite of min. Tanino does a good job in the kitchen. It is remarkable that even with the pandemic the quality remains. I miss being inside, but the outside serves well except for the hawkers and homeless who frequent the area.
If you've ever wondered what outstanding service looks like, have a delicious meal at this outstanding restaurant. Without hovering, the remarkable staff is there to attend to your every need, and all with charm and a smile. Remarkable meal !!!
Always a great experience, food and service were outstanding
Its so nice to have a local restaurant that has the good sense to have an outdoor seating area. The food was really great and the staff were genuinely happy to have you as their guests.
Great food, great service!
Great service, awesome atmosphere! Great food! Would come back again
Great spot for outdoor dining with reasonable table spacing to help observe social distancing. Food, as ever, was great, though this time the tuna appetizer was on the smaller side.
