Via 45 Ratings and Reviews
We finally got a reservation to this extremely popular dining spot - and I can see why it's hard to reserve. First of all, I think lots of large groups tend to dine here, so limits the amount of smaller parties. However it is a fun and festive place to have a big group! The food is very very good - all cooked to order so piping hot and fresh. Pasta is house made and wonderful - I had trout piccata which was really fresh and lovely. My friends enjoyed the cheese board and they split the ravioli and loved it. Our server was attentive and friendly and efficient. Sadly we were too full for dessert, but will try another time. At the end the chef/owner came to greet us, which as a lovely gesture. One tiny criticism - walking to the back for the restrooms, you pass the kitchen, which is a disorganized mess! Lots of people, stuff all around, etc. I think it could use a little Marie Kondo-ing.
Had a great meal with another couple. The food was very good all-around, but as a celiac - I opted for the GF pork-chop Milanese which was prepared well - only a little plain. Everyone else was very pleased - however the meal/service did take far too long. We were seated at 6:30pm and it was 9:30 by the time we paid the bill. We will be back for sure - one thing you will notice, the staff is very friendly and the ownership really cares about the quality of the food and their customers.
The food and preparation of the meal was excellent. Alan and I shared the fried calamari as our appetizer which tasted fresh and really great.
His entree was the monkfish francais which didnt taste francaisy. He didn't like the sauce that it was cooked in. He liked the fish itself. I had the grilled salmon which was very good....not too salty and the salmon was very fresh. The bread dipped in the dipping olive oil in the beginning of the meal was good.
Our dessert was great. Raspberry sorbet enclosed in a dark chocolate covering. It was light and refreshing. The only downside was the group of screaming ladies on our right who definitely enjoyed themselves even though the noise they made was enough to give you ahjaduh (phonetically) and an earache. No fault of the owner of Via 45 who are very nice.
Wow! We love Via 45 and wonderful chefs Claudette and Lauren.
Everysingle time we come to their "table" we are delighted and
From the amazing "purses" and Burrata salad, and delicious trout
(which I never ate before Via 45 and now love it)
Eggplant dinner and I could go on.
We go as often as is possible and will keep coming back.
Thank you Ladies and Michelle, our wonderful server, for a "10"
This Tuscan experience is waiting for you. Claudette welcomed us upon arrival and even checked in a few times.
They change the menu every day and all meals are prepared from scratch! It is BYOB so be prepared to bring your best bottle of Italian wine to this wonderful find.
We recently took our grown kids to dinner at Via 45. Everyone agreed the food was delicious! My husband had the salmon, which I tasted and it was great. Two of us had the Haddock, which was moist and tasty, and my youngest ordered the pork chop, which was one of the specials. We agreed we would definitely visit again. Service is not rushed, and the atmosphere is relaxed, which both my kids liked.
The food here is really amazing. This was my second time here and it did not disappoint. It is not quick. You take your time and enjoy your meal. You need a reservation a few weeks in advance. I would definitely eat here again! I just saw their story on Restaurant Hunter and now I love the place even more! Go and Enjoy! Bring your own.
Great restaurant where the owners are the chefs and you can tell by how authentic and fresh everything tastes. The dining room feels like you're inside someone's home which makes it cozy and intimate. The entrees are mostly $20-30 but it is a BYO so you can easily get in and out under $100 for two. If you want to come on a Saturday then be prepared to book several weeks ahead.
We have been trying to get a reservation for some time now at Via 45, now we know why! Our server Anthony was wonderful! He explained the menu and the concept of the chefs and their restaurant. Everything that we had was superb, fresh quality food. My husband had the pork chop Milanese...he never looked up from his plate! Truly a hidden gem in red bank!
Via 45 is one of our most favorite restaurants in New Jersey. Excellent food, relaxed environment, great service and the owners/chefs Claudette Herring and Lauren Phillps are so welcoming.
We live about 35 miles away and wish we could come more often. Maybe they could open a restaurant in Millburn NJ!!
We did not like our table that faced the front door of the restaurant (we sat next to each other instead of across from each other) as we felt we were sitting at the hostess desk. Very awkward. Food was good but didn't quite meet the hype, waitress kept taking my boyfriend's plates away while I was still eating and asking me if I was finished when I was chewing my food.
