There wasn't much of a selection. I ordered a fish special and it was pretty dry as were the potatoes I ordered with the meal.

My husband and I shared a salad and clams. Both came within seconds of each other. As we received the salad first, we felt rushed to eat it so the clams wouldn't get cold.

I am glad we went because we had been curious about the restaurant. I don't think we would go back.

Tough place to get reservations but worth the effort. The service was very good and the menu was short but interesting and changes daily. The place is small maybe 15~18 tables and can get a little noisy at times but that's the case with most of the Red Bank restaurants. My fish was very good as was the dessert. The appetizer ( calamari was just average ).

Service and atmosphere were great. Food was good but I thought did not live up to the hype. Overwhelming flavors of citrus in nearly everything. Again still good just not what I was expecting.

Pleasantly surprised how quaint this place was.. Anthony the waiter very nice and helpful. Had the veal parm and it was very big and tasty. Wife and friend both had the eggplant parm and stated that it was very good also. Other friend had the pork chop and he loved it. Anthony stated that was the house special. Unique place as owners change the menu daily. BYOB will definitely to back.

Little restaurant without glitz and what a great and surprising menu...Italian but NOT Italian in the way we've become accustomed to. Great flavors, great takes on so many fresh and fabulous dishes. They have gluten free, vegetarian, and other options. My wife is allergic to shellfish and they make meals for people w/ allergies in separate pans.

But better than just fabulous options, the food was tremendous! What a fun meal and I ate every bite. Fish, seafood, beef....whatever your desires....they have. It's a limited menu which means everything is fresh but unlike other places with limited choices in a limited menu, they had 4 fish choices, and multiple other choices. One word sums it up: WOW.

Don't miss this gem of a restaurant.

From what I had heard, this is not the place to go and expect to be in and out in an hour. So I expected a rather leisurely pace. And after waiting 2 weeks for a reservation, I was excited to enjoy a special meal.
But it would have been nice to have been greeted before 15 minutes lapsed, and to not have to ask (twice) to have our wine opened. Generally speaking, people with a glass of wine in front of them tend to be a little more patient!!
Food took 55 minutes to arrive (again, not unexpected, as everything is made to order). Very unhappy . The Pork Milanese special was overcooked, dry and tough, and extremely salted. Because the arugla salad was overdressed the pork swam in a puddle of vinegar, accentuating the tart saltiness. My companions eggplant and chicken parmesan combo was lackluster as well. Both dishes lacked the freshness of ingredients or mastery of culinary skills that are promoted by the restaurant. I expect more for $30/ entree.
I really wanted to like this restaurant more.

Exquisite cuisine, wonderfully tasty, perfectly prepared. Service was very good although having bread brought when we sat down would have been nicer. Also would have appreciated being offered gluten free bread given that I noted the preference on our reservation. these are nits though. do not miss Via 45. BYOB.

We went to Via 45 on a Sunday at 5PM, after hearing great things abut it. We were a table of 4 and the restaurant was about 3/4 full. We all enjoy our meals and apps very much. Dessert was just ok. Service was the biggest issue we had, we didn't mind waiting for our meals as everything is made to order and was delicious, however we did have issues with people cleaning our table/dishes and even getting new forks and knives. Great food, need to improve on the service.

Via 45 was recommended to me by my SIL and I couldn't wait to try it. I saw it had great reviews but I wish I had seen the ones about it not being a place for kids. We have a 6 and 7 year old. There is no kid's menu but I called and was told they could prepare something at our request. I asked about chicken parm and was told yes they could make it. Based on that I confirmed the reservation. My husband and I went with our kids and my mother early last Saturday evening . The ambiance was very cozy but it went downhill from there. The one appetizer we ordered, calamari, took 45 minutes to arrive and was fresh but half the plate was tentacles which we don't like. When I tried to order chicken parm for our son I was told it wasn't available but they have chicken fingers. He doesn't like those so he ordered from the menu. Time passed and our kids kept asking us when their food would come. Nearly an hour after ordering, we asked and were told it was a busy night. Isn't it always busy there? I asked the waitress if she would at least bring out my other son's bread with mozzarella which she did, finally. When an hour and 10 minutes had passed, I asked again about our meals. I was told everything is prepared fresh and the roasted chicken I ordered can take 35 minutes. But we were well beyond 35 minutes. There were no apologies, just defensive employees. Finally after an hour and 20 minutes, our meals arrived. The food was good, but nothing fantastic, and my meal wasn't very filling. I was hungry by time I got home and that never happens. Our son who wanted the chicken parm didn't like his meal and asked for food as soon as we got home. My mom's fish picatta had about 3 capers in it and she was disappointed with her vegetables. What a disappointment in every way. We don't know what all the fuss is about. My husband and I had planned to go to there with another couple at the end of April but we'll be going elsewhere.

Fantastic meal. Service was perfect, I think our waiters name was Michael, I apologize if this is not correct. We started with the meat & cheese platter appetizer which was excellent. This appetizer included some of the best and biggest red grapes we ever tasted! Veal Parmesan and Eggplant Ravioli were amazing. Bring a big appetite for the Veal Parmesan dish because it is huge. Overall a wonderful dinner. Look forward to coming back to Via 45 soon.

Celebrating my lovely wife's birthday we invited our son and daughter to join us for dinner. My wife and I enjoyed the delicious food and lovely ambience and friendly service as we had expected. Our children were blown away, as we were on our first experience, how crazy good their dining experience turned out. Turns out the old folks weren't exaggerating. They're hooked. Wonderful experience had by all.
