Vetri Cucina Ratings and Reviews
The staff and food at Vetri lived up to their name. Everything was wonderful. Our server took the time to explain everything to us and also threw in some extra tasting offerings to surprise us. Marc was there and visited the tables. It was a great, relaxing experience and we would highly recommend it.
The occasion was an early Valentine’s Day dinner. I don’t know where to start as everything was excellent! The service was superb, our waitress was very knowledgable and answered any question we had regarding the menu. The service was excellent like fine dining should be. We were not rushed and we were able to discuss each plate without having to dive into the next course. We enjoyed the chef’s selections as we were excited not knowing was going to be served to us and every plate served was delicious! With that being said, between the two of us we were served almost every item on the menu and by time dessert rolled around we were fully sated. Although it is on the pricey side it was by far one of the best dining experiences my fiancée and I have had together and well worth every dollar. We are looking forward to our next visit!
I had wanted to try Vetri for some time, and it did not disappoint. Every single course was delicious, unique, and so thoughtfully prepared. The service was outstanding and unpretentious (the staff is just delightful), and the wine list was fabulous. I highly recommend doing the wine pairing - you get to try so many interesting wines, paired perfectly with each course. So often meals are rushed, even at nicer restaurants, but the pace of this dining experience was nothing like that. I felt like I had all the time in the world to savor every course. I can't wait to go back.
Magnificent. This is the third or fourth time we've been, and the execution is consistent and flawless. The wine pairing is thoughtfully assembled and adventurous, albeit spendy. I would call it modern Italian. Mr Vetri and his team deserve the many accolades.
From the moment we walked into Vetri, our experience was nothing short of exceptional. The maître d' graciously welcomed us and offered a delicious apéritif while we waited to be seated. We were on our honeymoon and everyone congratulated us and went out of their way to make us feel special.
Each course was so meticulously crafted and perfectly plated with the utmost care and poise. My wife and I were beyond impressed with the world-class level of dining at Vetri. Our wine pairings heightened each course - both of us appreciate excellent wine, and I can't imagine experiencing the courses without wine pairings!
We loved learning about each course and learning about the wine, winemakers, and vintages. This was the highlight of our honeymoon, and a meal we will remember for years to come.
We were especially impressed with the pistachio flan and onion crepe - easily our 2 favorites!
Thank you, Vetri, for making our night truly one to remember.
This restaurant is a once in a lifetime kind of dinner. The food, the service, the ambiance was all incredible. The Prix fixed menu is $168 and chef's tasting. It is a great restaurant to really celebrate a big event, worth every penny. I recommend going with 4 people. We were able to pass all the plates and taste a little bit of everything. If you are only with 2 people, you likely won't get the chance to sample every dish. There is a reason this restaurant is in the top 10 restaurants in Philadelphia and it the food and service really speak for themselves.
This was one of the best meals I have ever had. It was a pure pleasure from start to finish. I had no idea what to expect with the tasting menu. I could not believe how many items we were able to try over 2 and a half hours. The staff was incredibly attentive and knowledgeable. It is one of the costliest meals I have ever had, but it is worth it. Come prepared with an open mind to experience new things.
Food was absolutely amazing. It is expensive but they are very upfront about the price. Service was attentive and the entire experience was fantastic. With regard to our menu they created a different menu for both of us so we could share and have a full taste of the menu
Our visit to Vetri was a Christmas gift to my kids who enjoy good food and wine. Our experience was unparalleled. The food and wine pairings were amazing, outstanding all and the staff were warm, friendly, and treated us like old friends. The evening was a huge success. We will do it again as soon as we can.
On our latest trip to Philadelphia, we made sure to include Vetri on the itinerary. The restaurant is still very small, plain and simple (almost rustic in décor); the service is still exemplary; and the food, for the most part, is fabulous. Upon arrival, we were presented with the menu and asked if there were any particular dishes we wanted/did not want. After that, the courses came in dizzy procession: For appetizers: tuna crudo; sweet onion crepe with truffle fondue; beef tartare with bagna cauda; day boat scallp with foriana; tortellini pie; for pasta: swiss chard gnocchi with brown butter, almond tortellini with truffle sauce; chesnut fazzoletti with wild boar ragu; tajarin with king crab and caviar; casoncelli with brown butter and sage; for mains: capretto with soft polenta and duck with chicory. Before dessert, there was a mandarin orange/pistachio sorbet palate cleanser. Desserts were pistachio flan; chocolate polenta soufflé; and a chestnut napoleon. With so many courses, we opted for the wine pairings, which went well with each dish. The servers did a great job describing the dishes as well as the wines. Our only quibble was with the main courses: neither the capretto nor the duck were particularly good. Having had so many pasta courses, we probably could have skipped the mains and have been perfectly happy. None of this comes cheap; Vetri was the most expensive meal by far on the entire trip. Nevertheless, we continue to be impressed with Vetri and will return.
Service was extremely slow with long waits in between courses - it took us over 2.5 hours to finish the meal. Also, the food had one great course but about 7 more that were either mediocre or straight up strange and quite unappetizing. The value of the meal, for $155 a person, is not at all worth it. Do not waste your time nor your money eating here. The ambience was nice, but the poor food, service, and long wait times make me regret spending my money and my evening here. You could order a pizza and have a 100x better experience sitting at home than coming to Vetri.
The service was impeccable and the staff was lovely. However, the food was incredibly bland and disappointing. For the price of this meal, I was really disappointed to walk away after being served countless dishes and to not be able to say I honestly enjoyed just one. The staff speak of the chef as if he is the king. I wish they had been right.
I had wanted to dine here for a long time and finally got the opportunity. Vetri did not disappoint. Everything is catered to the individual tastes. Service is excellent. The fact that the restaurant is small and intimate allows for very personalized service.
Lunch is fairly new to Vetri. We booked a Friday lunch for my wife’s birthday. The menu is fixed price lunch. We choose the wine pairing.
Vetri Service is impeccable. We arrived dressed casually which is acceptable. We each had minor food allegergies which they were both attentive to and able to manage. Each wine and food course was an experience. The flavors creative by the wine pairing was an exception experience and learning process. We strongly recommend lunch as a an amazing experience.
Fine dining for lunch at Vetri. The snack course started the meal and it was a harbinger of the flavor full meal to follow. A roasted pear, fennel and duck pate set high expectations. The four course meal was enhanced by wine pairings..... a little pricey for the selections offered, but clearly an upgrade to the dining experience. Only two notes of disappointment. First, the persimmon salad lacked dimension and textural contrast. It needed an element of vegetable, seed or nut to counter the sweet fruit. Unfortunately, a more serious disappointment was the temperature of the second/main course. The bronzino and pork chop were both served warm and not piping hot as anticipated. We notified the wait staff of the concern but did not opt to interrupt the flow of the meal.
