Everything was made to perfection!
Eh... not much more to say.
When you’re supposed to be the top restaurant in Philadelphia, and you charge accordingly, you set a high bar for yourself. Unfortunately, it seems like Vetri is mostly riding on its reputation. The place has become a factory.
The downstairs dining room is crammed with tables, and most of them are not very nice. There’s a huge bussing/coffee station in the middle of the small dining room. Two four tops abut the station, blocking in one of the diners at each table. And it’s loud.
There is a ton of waiter traffic on the floor at all time, which does not allow for a relaxing, leisurely dining experience. In fact, it’s clear that the whole meal experience is designed around being able to have two seatings. By the time we left, the tiny vestibule was packed with people drinking cocktails waiting for the second seating.
As far as the food, it was good. It didn’t seem like much of it was prepared a la minute — much of it felt like it was prepared ahead of time.
In short, for a meal that costs over $300 per diner, we expected a much better dining experience. Not worth the price.
25th wedding anniversary- such an incredible night. Did the wine pairing so Bill was pricey but so worth it for the experience. Food was amazing as always and service is impeccable.
Excellent everything!! Food, service, ambiance, and attention to detail were superb. Service harkened back to a more civilized time but was not pretentious. Of course, the food was outstanding from the amuse bouche to the dessert - everything with a hint of the classic and very fresh ingredients with innovative touches. Cannot wait to return!!
Amazing as always. Expensive but worth every cent !
This is simply one of the best restaurants in the U.S. We travel from New York at least once a year to satisfy our craving for Vetri's pasta, the best this posta lover has ever eaten.
Our second trip to Vetri did not disappoint! Everything was fantastic as you would expect given the ratings and price of the experience. Best dishes IMO were the prosciutto, swiss chard pasta and goat entree. We will definitely be back.
An amazing evening!
Excellent too much food I felt pushed to get the tasting menu.
My wife and I go each year for our wedding anniversary. The dining experience is unlike any other restaurant in the city. The best experience comes from chefs personalized menu for each individual diner. The food is unreal, the wine list is unparalleled, and the staff is as knowledgeable as you will find. Very pricy but worth every single penny. It’s a must try for those who truly appreciate food and don’t mind spending the money.
Went for the prix fixe lunch, $85 pp with an optional $75 wine pairing- we went with just a glass of wine each and were guided to one we loved. Four courses plus snacks at the beginning and end, I wasn’t overstuffed but comfortably full. Every course was delicious, but the standouts were the homemade pasta and the honey pudding at the end. A wonderful way to enjoy a lazy Friday afternoon for a very special occasion.
Cucina Vetri's stellar reputation is well-deserved. The four course meal we enjoyed was truly extraordinary. From the antipasto offering to the petit-fours with cappuccino, we were transported. Truly a diniing experience like no other.
One of our favorite restaurants. Food and service are excellent.
What a phenomenal lunch at Vetri-- the best restaurant experience in the city in my opinion. Especially loved the sweet onion crepe, pastas, warm focaccia, and honey custard for dessert.
Never experienced service quite that excellent before. Rivals Daniel in NYC. Food was superb. Attention to detail just amazing. Best restaurant in Philly without a doubt. Very expensive and worth it.
Everything about the experience was catered to the experience I wanted to have. With a few deft questions about preferences, the staff put together a perfect meal. Easily one of the best dining experiences I have ever had. By that I mean the marriage of the food and the hospitality created a perfect harmony
We had a fabulous experience dining with the wonderful people at Vetri Cucina. Will be returning for any and all special occasions!
What an amazing dining experience!!! We had wonderful evening celebrating our anniversary - the food was outstanding (favorites were the sweet onion crepe the pasta course with Swiss chard gnocchi, corn angnolotti and almond tortellini, the octopus and pork belly, and the veal...for dessert the chocolate polenta and pistachio flan were incredible) the ambiance was magical, the wine pairing was spectacular and Bill and John really made sure that we had the most incredible evening. We just love how this restaurant is such an elevated dining experience with the most inviting and affable staff. Bill really did an excellent job describing the wines and their terroir - his depictions of the areas where some of the wines came from were so eloquent we could practically feel the warm Italian sun as it ripened the grapes. Definitely a very special dining experience!
I’ve been going to Vetri off and on for a long time. Significant layoff since my last visit. It did not disappoint. Wonderful staff, amazing food, amazing wine, and fantastic experience. It’s very expensive but I think well worth the price of admission.
Outstanding lunch tasting. The staff went out of their way to make me feel welcome. And, of course, the food was amazing.
Exquisite service. Outstanding food (amazing pasta was the star). Pricy but worth it.
Vetri cocina was a culinary experience out of this world. From the ambience, the staff and most definitely the food. We have done tasting menu dinner before in excellent restaurants like Provence in Los Angeles, but Vetri Cucina by far surpassed our expectations. We decided to have the chef surprise us with sending out dishes for our tasting and we were not disappointed. On the contrary, we were surprised and utterly delighted with the food. We recommend doing the pairing of wines, we really like the different wines we had and went well with the food. Our server was outmost warm, friendly,
knowledgeable and very respectful person. Him and his team of house staff made our 15 year anniversary celebration an even unforgettable experience. At the end of dinner, they give you a list of the wines you tried and the menu if you would to keep it as a memorabilia. I recommend Vetri Cucina all the way. Thank you Vetri Cucina.
Our evening at Vetri was second to none. The food was delicious and the meal was an experience of a lifetime. The staff were so knowledgeable about the dishes, their ingredients and how they came together to form a dish. The wine pairings were an adventure - we learned so much from our server about the wine origins and why the pairing was recommended. We had a very special evening, one to remember, and will be back!
One of the best meals and dining experiences I’ve ever had, sublime is the only word to describe it!
Best meal of my life. Folks were right—you shouldn't eat that day—it's a lot of food and it keeps on coming. I did the wine pairing, which was a great call and they provided me with a list at the end of the meal, which I thought was a nice touch. I was fascinated by the fact that you don't have one single server—the entire staff was participating with me throughout the meal—all equally knowledgeable about the food, wine, and where I was at with my experience. Thank you Vetri, I'll be visiting again.
Excellent food, complex & it keeps on coming. One caveat would be to be careful with the paired wine tasting. It will easily double the cost of your meal. If you wish to keep your tab for dinner for two below $700, order a bottle of wine.
Went for my wife’s birthday and definitely was worth the money!
This place was so special the food was outstanding And it just kept coming the service was impeccable I can’t say enough about it I enjoyed the entire evening one of the most special dining experiences I’ve had in quite some time
I advise you not to eat all day before you dine here. Also, you may not need to eat the next day. So rich! Every bite was amazing!
Perfect in all respects. Server was exceptional.
Solid fine dining destination. Great time with my wife, perfect for a special occasion. I loved trying some Italian wines I haven’t had before. Not a green vegetable in sight, my only slight knock.
Our first Vetri Cucina visit and it didn't disappoint! While my wife is a much more 'adventurous' eater, I found everything I had (and that was at least 95% of what was on the menu) to be absolutely delicious. I was blown away by the sauces...a great use for the wonderful breads that accompanied the dinner. I found myself saying "I could make a meal out of practically every item in every course!" In addition to being an adventurous eater, my wife is an amazing cook...and so it was so much fun watching her excitement as we tried one delicious bite after another. The wait staff...every single one...could not have been more courteous, full of personality, and over the top with their knowledge of each and every dish. A couple of things I would add. The main entree for me was a rib eye The flavor was outstanding...perfectly prepared...but just a little on the chewy side. Didn't slow me down one bit!!! Also...my wife is Fiorella's great granddaughter and really wanted to say "thank you" personally to Chef Vetri for rescuing her great grandfather's store (and register!). We can't wait to try it out. Bravo to all!

We had a great experience at Vetri! The tasting menu was phenomenal and the service was top notch. Our waiter Bill was very knowledgeable and did an amazing job informing us on our wine pairings. (Do the wine pairing with your meal) He even gave us tips for best NYC pizza spots as we were visiting the city on our trip! Although a bit pricey, the experience was definitely worth the money! I highly recommend if you’re ever in Philly!
Amazing meal, amazing service, truly a fantastic experience
Very disappointed with the food and value. It is very overrated. The service was excellent and a sweet ambience.
This was probably one of the best, if not the best, dining experience we have ever had. We had been hearing about Vetri for so long and it was beyond our highest expectations. Prior to the visit, the staff inquired as to any dietary concerns and made sure we understood the menu (price fixe). When we arrived it was clear that all that information was known to the wait staff. They asked if we would be okay with the chef sending out selections based on what we had told them, rather than choosing from the menu - which was fine with us. It gave us the feeling that the chef was cooking just for us. Even before that we were given "snacks" which were wonderful small appetizers. Wine selection was also done with assistance from the sommelier. After that, we received appetizers - one of which was their fantastic signature carmelized onion tarte - and a pasta course (or maybe two) consisting of various delicately flavored pastas. My entree was excellent sliced rib-eye and my husband, a pescatarian, was served a delicate fish course. Following that was dessert and coffee. It was clear from the outset that the staff wanted us to enjoy the meal, experience lots of different foods and come away totally satisfied, which we were. Although this is an expensive outing, we felt it was well worth, especially for a special occasion.
We go there every year for our anniversary. Definitely a special occasion restaurant. A fine dining experience that is never intimidating. The food is refined but accessible, and the leisurely pace and intimate dining room all combine for a wonderful experience.
Incredible food and overall experience. Worth every penny.
