I was more impressed than I thought I would be. I didn't have high expectations for an Italian restaurant in Modesto. Everything we ordered was excellent and they have an impressive wine list. Highly recommend the Petrale sole special and the Ceasar salad was well done. I was also impressed with the clam chowder! Good job Verona Cucina!

Excellent chicken marsala and eggplant parmesan. Dan's salad was also great and the bread was warm and fresh. The balsamic vinegar and olive oil was so good we bought a bottle of both.

Great Italian food every time. Our server, Meghan, was the best. We had Petrale sole which was very fresh. Also pasta Bolognese. Finished with a wonderful Zabaglione. Portions are large so most people will have enough leftovers for a great meal at home. Reasonable corkage charge if you have a special wine at home you like.

Chef can create special dishes if the ingredients you request are available. Not all restaurants will do this! Our server, Paul, was terrific! Would return in a heartbeat. Thank you for a wonderful meal and evening.

Our Server Maria B. she's is excellent!! so we started with the Bread basket I can't believe they charge for the bread (really?) on to the caprese very good tomatoes today, cup of the artichoke soup I liked it. I had the scallops I expected a sear on them but not, but good and husband had the prime ribeye (didn't look like a prime very thin) and unfortunately a lot of fat and grizzle, so if your looking for prime ribeye go to Costco and Bbq yourself. other than the Ribeye $65.00, we will always be back!!! Even though my husband did tell Maria about the steak and you could see all the fat and grizzle he left, we were not compensated at all, could've at least comped a dessert or something so that was a little disappointing. But we are faithful customers of Verona's actually since Jamie worked at Marco's 35 years ago. Have the chicken marsala its the best around. Verona's we love everyone there, and we will always be back. Until the next hot meal have a safe and cool summer!!

We enjoyed the food very much. My husbands shrimp scampi with green noodles looked amazing! He said the prawns were very good. I had the veal picata with polenta and vegetables. It was cooked perfectly. We have been there many times and will return.

Always great ambiance for a date night! This time we sat in the patio to enjoy the weather and that was wonderful. Some places have horrible service on the patio but we received great service and the food was delicious, as always.

Sometimes the food here is fabulous - today was a miss. We eat here often and usually order the same items. I am not sure if it depends on who is cooking etc. Not many good restaurants in Modesto... usually drive to Stockton or Turlock to eat well. For the money you should probably consider driving to Turlock.

Great experience. As a chef and General Manager, I harshly critique my dining experiences. I have nothing negative to say. The staff was great. The food was great and the experience was fantastic. I'll definitely come back. We had a celebration recently at a highly rated restaurant downtown, and found Verona Cucina Italiana to be far superior in staffing, food and value.

We had a wonderful dinner last night. Paul was an excellent server; very attentive to all our needs. The only problem we had to deal with was the noise. Wow, don't know what to suggest to fix it. I remember Verona's being very quiet, elegant place to go, but the noise will probably keep us away. One shouldn't have to shout across the table to talk to their party. I would recommend Verona's to a friend but would warn them about the noise -- which is too bad.

Great food. Made a reservation but it took 15 minutes for waiters to find the hostess. They never answer the phone and the hostess is always glum and MIA However here in Modesto this is one of the few decent restaurants so we eat here often.

Party of 5. Most said food was good. Sister had bistecca alla fiorentina, said it was only ok. Mom had the short rib & really enjoyed it. I had the pappardelle. Sadly, it was under seasoned (quite bland). While it was a short rib sugo, there really was not much short rib flavor. Nephew had the same dish, side by side comparison, his definition better sauced & seasoned. Appears the chef was uninspired.

I love Verona’s, it’s our go-to spot for celebrations out. Perfect spot for birthdays, spacious yet the staff is very attentive. Great food and drinks and although it does come with the fine dining price tag, the portions are large, so it’s still a good value.

Terrible service Glum waiter and hostess. We eat here often but it’s really gone downhill. Don’t ask for coffee- it’s always lukewarm and you are never offered a refill. The 65 dollar special rib steak looked baked and grey. I think this is strictly a pasta place - all other dishes just ok.

Appetizers = fritto misto. excellent. I could have just had it for dinner. Calamari steak sautéed, excellent. tender. vegetables tender but with life. We sat outside. weather was good. We originally had an indoor table, but there was a group that was so loud it was impossible to hear. Many patrons went outdoors even thought there was a slight chill. The good news is that once outdoors on the patio everything was great
