Melissa and Mel were great and made us want to return often. The food was definately 5 star.
Food as always was outstanding as well as the service!
I think the restaurant was very business, which affected the level of service we received. Our server made a mess on our table between almost throwing a pizza on one of the guests to stacking empty cups on the table while we were eating. Food was good, but the service ruined the experience.
I have always enjoyed Verona’s for lunch…have taken many friends there.
Food is usually consistently good.
Recently, shrimp Louie had too much dressing.
Salads are great, as is the bread and bruschetta.
Servers are excellent except at this time they NEED TO WEAR MASKS! (Regardless of their vaccination status!) One can be vaccinated and asymptomatic and still spread the virus!
Anniversary and NYE dinner Food was Great
Bonnie was just the best
Her service was spectacular
The food was delicious, it had so much flavors and the drinks were delicious. I highly recommend the salmon, the portion was perfect, and an Italian Lemon Drop.
The pasta is second to none. Always fresh and prepared perfectly. The staff is all very professional and attentive plus very friendly. All dishes will not disappoint.
Love this place always good food and great service
The place is good but the food is not what we expected, Don’t recommend.
Great service, great food and great company! We had a good time and experience. Thank you.
Great food and service. I would highly recommend!
It was very loud with voices (not music). My meal was delicious, scampi with pasta.
Great service, the homemade pappardelle was on point!
Recommend to anyone that is looking for food preparation above the normal Modesto expectations.
Always love the exquisite service and wonderful food here at Verona’s. My husband had the swordfish special and said it was perfect and I had my family-favorite Vitelli Marsala which my father would have adored. Jack had the pepperoni pizza and, as always, it was great. We love our local family restaurant so much!
Server Maria was attentive and helpful but didn’t hover. Salads were excellent, as were sauces. Chicken piccata was tasty but a bit dry. They had run out of strawberries for my husband’s salad and substituted cranberries, which was fine. Husband ordered tiramisu for dessert but they were out, although it was early in the evening. Husband’s crème brûlée was excellent and my cheesecake was good.
The dining experience was wonderful. We started with an appetizer, beef carpaccio, which was tasty. Then we had soup and salad, and again each one had a burst of flavor. Our main courses were simple but done well. Ended the night with the zabaglione and the creme brûlée. Each was very delicious. All the dishes were plated beautifully. This is the best Italian cuisine in the northern San Joaquin Valley.
We frequent Verona’s for special occasions. The food quality and atmosphere are consistently good, however our most recent visit was somewhat disappointing on several levels.
1) We were asked if we wanted a bread basket only to be charged for it without mention.
2) We had to ask for the night’s specials (there were numerous).
3) We ordered one salad and specifically stated we did not want it split only to have it arrive split and received a split plate charge.
4) We both ordered similar pasta dishes, one arrived with an extremely small amount (1/3) of pasta compared to the other.
5) We were asked during the reservation process if this was a special occasion and we indicated it was (anniversary). Well managed restaurants will typically honor the occasion in some form or fashion. In this case, nothing. Why ask if you’re if you’re going to ignore the special occasion?
Too many missteps for a restaurant of this quality and reputation.
Verona's is my go to restaurant in Modesto. We love the food here.
First of all, we usually have a wonderful dining experience at Verona, no matter how busy the restaurant. However, this occasion the service was extremely slow and bad, which was made all the more unfortunate since we were here for a birthday dinner.
I live in a large city and find it challenging to select a great place for special occasions in Modesto when I visit. I took my Mother for her 90th Birthday and the entire experience was stellar! The service and our waiter was excellent, the food superb and and the surroundings were very attractive. Patrons were even dressed nicely, which elevated the whole experience. I had the cream of artichoke soup and the veal, both were yummy. We will be back. Loved it!
We a had a Friends get-together and Birthday Lunch for a High School Girlfriend. The outdoor dining was so beautiful and relaxing. Perfect place for any event!
Lovely business dinner with good food and good drinks.
I have never had a bad year for all the years that they have been in business.
I recently had lunch and had the White Bean Soup and the Shrimp Louie - both delicous!
We have come here several times and it always has be great and this time was no exception. This time we were a party of seven and a couple people had never been here before. To start Paul was our waiter and he differently took great care of us. We had Cocktails first then a couple appetizers and all was great. For the dinner course I had the special slow cooked Short Rib dinner and that was amazing, we also had a couple of the Linguini con Vongolei, a Pappardelle, the Mushroom Ravioli Special & a Chicken Parm which everyone love. The Food and service was wonderful. Everyone had a great time and we'll all be back soon.
We had a wonderful experience! The four of us truly enjoyed our meals and the staff was wonderful. I highly recommend this restaurant for a date night, family dinner, special occasion, or any occasion, really! 5 stars!
Extremely good food with reasonable pricing. Noise level was a bit high but not enough to keep us from enjoying our meal. Good portions and excellent quality. Service was exceptional.
I have been going to Veronas for years and have always enjoyed the quality of food and great service. I love sitting outside on their patio, such a great vibe.
I always have Veal Marsala and it is one of the best I have ever had and I have had it many times across California and Chicago.
Don't hesitate to make a reservation here, you will enjoy it.
Service is great, they pay attention to everything
we choose the patio with the misters because it helps with the temperature andd one of the servers shut them off in the middle of the meal, which made it terribly un comfortable while we were trying to eat the main meal. so we had to ask the other server to please turn them back on which made the rest of the meal tolerable. Next time it happens we will getup and leave not good service no payment
Very good food served in a gracious atmosphere. The outdoor patio dining was very nice.
Attentive staff & great food. Our party enjoys Italian food and this is a favourite of ours.
Maria did a great job! She did not miss a step. Very nice experience.
Food was delicious and nicely presented. We dined outdoors near the fountain. Service was excellent (our server was attentive and checked on us frequently). Hands down one of the best restaurants in the Modesto area. Will definitely dine here again on our next visit.
We sat outside on the gorgeous patio. We were able to see beautiful twinkle lights, listen to quiet music, and enjoy a delicious meal. Our server checked on us often and kept our glasses full. We had a fabulous dining experience!
Everything was great, it felt like the waiter was rushing a bit but everything was great!
Dropped one star from an overall wonderful experience because of the noise level. However there were a couple of large groups that contributed to the noise & once they got their food the ability to hear conversations greatly improved. Food was amazing, vegetables were the best I have had in a restaurant.
We love Verona’s …. great attention to detail, personable staff, and delicious food. Last night….arugula salad, cioppino, and rib eye steak….fabulous!
