Chef Jenny believes strongly in the importance of fresh, healthy food while supporting the local community and strives to create flavourful inspired cuisine using quality ingredients sourced from a variety of trusted local producers. Featured small plates include house made veal meatballs, Baby Calamari Frito with kaffir lime aioli and the Signature Sweet Potato Gnocchi with wild boar bacon and gorgonzola, as well as more substantial offerings, such as Steak & Frites-New York steak with chimichurri butter, truffle parmesan frites, and the signature 'Seafood Platter.' Breakfast items such as wild boar bacon & prawn benny served on top of a fresh baked croissant with hand whipped hollandaise and the organic flaxseed lemon waffle with Valrhona white chocolate ganache, chopped strawberries, peanut praline.

My favorite restaurant in Calgary. Excellent food. Our server is very professional with excellent customer service. 3 course lunch menu for $25 is unbeatable price with the quality of food and choice that they provide. Chef Jenny ROCK!
Loved the menu. They had a special truffle menu when we were there and we loved the items. The sweet potato gnocchi was also wonderful as always. We find the food unique and interesting. Service is excellent and even called me when I left my hat there.
This was our second time we have been at Vero. We ordered the meatballs as an appetizer. My husband ordered the steak and I had the organic chicken. The meals were very tasty and tender. Very Good! Dessert was delicious too! We will be back.
I would highly recommend this restaurant. The food was amazing, the service was good too. The only thing that I didn't really like was how close the tables are to each other. I understand the need for them to be as it is a small space. It was definitely worth the drive to get there though, will be back again!
Wonderful steak and frits on the Wednesday evening. Great food and service. Our only concern was that the restaurant noise level made it difficult to have a pleasant dinner conversation. This wonderful restaurant would do better if the seating area acoustics could be improved so it didn't sound like a lively pub.
Small, but exceptional dining experience. The interior is small and trendy with an open design. This leads to a fairly noisy meal, but no louder than most.
The service was incredible, as was the food! Recommend the gnocchi appetizer and stuffed chicken main. Didn't go for dessert, but the options looked good and one option was served in a potted plant.
Definitely recommend to any foodies
While the food was excellent, we were a little disappointed not to have access to the main menu as we were quite looking forward to some fresh pasta. We seemed to be tag teamed between two servers who continuously came to the table asking the same questions as each other minutes after each other. This really took away from the overall experience! Furthermore, charging customers for "house water" is the first I have ever seen in a restaurant in North America… Lastly, putting a sparkler in a paid for dessert is not special. The credit card machine should certainly offer a 15% option with this kind of experience, again, the tips starting at 18% is a first. All in all I would come back but I certainly don't understand how this is the top restaurant in a Calgary on TripAdvisor...
Went there for brunch on a Saturday before going to for a matinee show at the Jubilee. I had the eggs benny with salmon and prawns. It's pricey for an eggs benny, but when you see and taste it, you will agree that it is worth every penny. I enjoyed every bite of my meal. It's great place for a good food in the heart of Kensington. I'm looking forward to enjoying dinner there.
