Vernon's Speakeasy Ratings and Reviews
The food and the service were outstanding. However, we were seated next to a large party. Not only were they loud, but they were drinking and using foul language. I'm accepting of people have a good time, but when I'm paying this much for a meal I expect a quality dining atmosphere. Veron's should consider a separate room for large parties. I would go back again, but next time I'd specifically request to be seated in a more private area.
My first time and what a hoot! Yes it is expensive but the food was spectacular and the whole Speakeasy theme was awesome. We had an outstanding experience for my birthday dinner. The service was awesome, food was delicious and I look forward to making it a special event location at least a couple times a year.
Such a fun, unique experience in Albuquerque! We had a Roaring 20’s party for my birthday and all dressed the part, so we fit in perfect at the restaurant. There was even another dressed up birthday party the same evening! The service at our table of 15 was exquisite and they went out of their way to make us feel welcome and entertained. If you’ve been waiting to try this place do it!
This was our second visit to Vernon’s. The first was to celebrate my husbands birthday with our adult children and daughter-in-law. This second time was a special date night. We were celebrating my husband being cancer free. It was a lovely occasion and a perfect place to celebrate. It’s quiet, elegant, great service and excellent food. It’s definitely pricey but worth every penny. Highly recommend the steaks, lobster, appetizers and this time we enjoyed a lovely seafood chowder. For us, it may be our last visit for a long time but if we can someday we will be back. I recommend this great dining experience for everyone!
After we ate a wonderful meal, a really nice guy took us on a tour of the whole place which was very informative! I have food allergies and they catered to me without complaints, which is usually NOT what happens at other places... Nice & friendly staff all the way around. A bit pricey but we had a lot of good food and fun!
This is my all time favorite restaurant in Albuquerque! The atmosphere is unlike any other. I always take my out of town guests here and it is a huge hit. Our waiter, Sterling, goes above and beyond to remember your name, knows the menu well, and is very personable.
This was our 4th visit to Vernon’s. It’s our Special Occasion go-to restaurant and we love going there. On this occasion, though, I confess I was a bit disappointed. We went to Vernon’s for our Anniversary and I mentioned that when I booked the reservation. Our server was great, but at no time was our Anniversary mentioned. I know it sounds petty, but I guess I’m spoiled since the other times it was acknowledged. That all being said, Vernon’s is the best place we’ve found since moving to Albuquerque, and I highly recommended it. We will return.
I know Vernon's is a steakhouse but I enjoyed a great pork loin dish. The red chile cream sauce and green chile bacon risotto were excellent. Service was good and the music was at just the right level. While the steaks are a bit on the pricey side everything else is reasonable.
We come to Vernon's for the quiet atmosphere. Our evening was disrupted with a screaming child at the table next to us. I'm sure the entire restaurant was disturbed. They did eventually move, but it was too late; the mood was ruined. They did not enforce their "no kids under 10" rule. If it happens again we won't be back, and we've been regulars for quite a while.
I wanted to treat my 11 Year old boy to an experience he would always remember. I told him there was a secret restaurant where we could only get in if we had a password. I assured him I would get the password and we would go. We arrived and his eyes were wide as I knocked on the door, the latch opened and asked for the password. As we entered, we were greeted by a large brute of man with a NY accent who "told us the rules." We were then led to our table and given some of the finest service imaginable, and ended the evening with a VIP tour of the place. Overall, the experience was just what I wanted, the food terrific and the memory forever lasting. Thank you to the staff for a night that will always be remembered by both of us. Michael B.
Party of 2 ordered 2 steak salads...1 medium well the other medium rare with the dressing on the side..needless to say the kitchen reversed the orders and the medium well came with the dressing on the side...waiter offered to make an adj however I told him the meals were edible and no adjustment was needed...entertain although very enjoyable I would expect a speakeasy to have more up beat entertainment to be more authentic not just dinner music on the piano
It was a family gathering. My brothers and sisters came to Albuquerque for the first time. It took them 45 minutes to seat us. We were then seated in an awful room with another table that had a dog. We were then offered to be seated at another table in another roomn which we gladly accepted. The head waiter or manager offered to comp our appetizers. When we received the check we were charged for the appetizers.
