The namesake restaurant of Vernon Kelly, a member of the development team that crafted the renowned TPC Sawgrass course with architects Pete and Alice Dye and former PGA TOUR Commissioner Deane Beman, is a destination for foodies as well as families. Enjoy breakfast or dinner and a floor-to-ceiling window view to the resort’s signature waterfall and lagoon, or watch the sun come up or go down on TPC Sawgrass.
We enjoy eating at Vernon’s The food and service is always tops! The staff and the Chefs are super to make us feel welcome and encouraged to come back. Great for families. Kids area during brunch looks so fun ! We plan to do brunch on a Sunday in the near future and bring the grands. Chef Momma “T” is so nice !
We had a great belated Valentine's Day meal at Vernon's. It was a quiet night and we had great service and our meal was delicious. Would recommend!
So surprised that this busy property was better than expected. Valentine weekend but noise level was nearly non-existence. High ceilings, tables far apart and very good service. 4 guests all with different selection and all very happy. We’ll definitely be back. We live in the area and weren’t hotel guests, we just wanted to try something different. So glad we did.
Valentines Day dinner was excellent
Service was really slow. We waited 22 minutes before anyone ever came by to get our drink order. I had to go up and tell the lady at the front to get any service. The food was good though and I got a rose for valentines day. And they had little Roses in a glass on the table.
Had a wonderful Valentines dinner there. The piano player was fabulous and the service was very good. We especially enjoyed the dessert and truffles.
Great menu and service for Valentines Day
the side dish portion (lobster macand cheese) was toooo much. But delicious. Veal special was tsaty but not the best ever....what would I expect in a fish specialty place?
We ate here Saturday night as an impromptu stop on our way from Jacksonville to St. Augustine. It is in the Marriott, which is a very large conference hope. The restaurant has a lot of windows, but I'm not sure of the view (it was dark outside), but the ambiance as good - a little more open than I expected, so not really cozy. I had the braised octopus, which was delicious and my husband had the steak, which he liked. The octopus was some of the best I've ever had - tender, well seasoned and a good size for an appetizer portion. I also had the cauliflower, which was very good. Our waiter was the absolute best! He was professional, efficient and most of all, fun! He is originally from Tunisia and had a beautiful accent and a great sense of humor. We would recommend this restaurant highly because of our waiter and the food.
Cold environment, slow service on a not-so busy night. Food was served warm... not hot. The bread was great!
Pleasant surprise! Food was fabulous! Service was excellent - Mabrouk was awesome! Definitely going back!
I chose Vernons based on the reviews I have read, many of which seem to be on the plus side. Our party of 8 is a monthly dinner group and the reviews were sort of mixed. We began with drinks at the bar and during happy hour drinks with hosue brands are actually a good value. I ordered a drink with Tito's and my wife ordered a prosecco. The bill was $23 before tip! Others in the party ordered happy hour branda and paid around $10 for two drinks. The bar, at least during the time we were there, was understaffed and it took forever to get our orders in as the bartender was managing a table of 10 women along with another 10 at the bar. so service was rathger slow and he was not very attentive. Around 6:15pm he did get help and service improved.
The ambiance is quite nice. Comfortable seating a wonderful view by the windows which overlook a small lake and waterfalls. It was also quiet as the restaurant was not full. Our group eats earlier than most.
Most of the group enjoyed their meals. The filet, while a bit on the small side, (could they spare it?), was flavorful. Although if you're going to serve steak a 1/2 mile down the road from Ruth's Chris, you should at least be competitive on portion size. the Grouper (Tender and flakey) was enjoyed by two folks however a third thought it was overcooked and dry, there was more rice than anything else & the whole dish was rather bland. The special was a pan seared flounder and that person said the portion was actually too large to finish but the dish was quite tasty. Two of us had the frutti de Mare which include scallops, prawn and lobster. I have to say the seafood was had excellent flavor albeit bordered on slightly under-cooked. The seafood rested on a bed of bucatini in a cream sauce which was tasty but a bit too thick and heavy. The wait staff was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. Withe a party of 8, the service charges were included in the bill and they happily provided separate bills for each couple.
Our group of 8 was well attended to by "Kelly"... drinks were nicely prepared, food was tasty, and everyone enjoyed their meal. Will look forward to future dinners at Vernon's.
The food was INCREDIBLE, the quiet band was lovely, but the best part might have been the supervised Kids Area! They have an employee dedicated to helping kids complete a free project, plus kid-friendly versions of the same delicious adult foods, all within the same dining room. Awesome experience for everyone!!
This is the third time that we have been to Vernon’s Sunday Brunch. We really enjoyed the two previous experiences. Yesterday’s meal was outstanding!! Yesterday’s offering had a Mediterranean theme. Well rounded assortment. Not just quantity; but, excellent quality. We plan on being back!
I knew we were in trouble when we entered and there was nobody there except the waitress. She was good. We decided to share an apatiser and an entree. Appatiser was cold sourdough bread with some cheese spread and pickled tomatoes. We only ate a few bites and told them it wasn't good and they still charged us. The fish and chips were good and served hot. It is a standard hotel restaurant that tries to be good, but isn't.
New Years, we always enjoy this restaurant when we can. Breakfasts are our favorite .
Birthday for my wife. Great service. Wonderful staff great food. Music was a little loud for talking but would highly recommend
Had Christmas dinner with family. Food was very good, especially the shrimp, crab claws and carved ham. Lobster was decent.
I have seen a few reviews criticizing the service. I can say that our table of eight received exceptional service from multiple staff members. In fact, they enhanced our experience, and although a bit pricey ($65/person) they are one reason we will return.
The Sunday brunch was fantastic and our group
Of 8 was given our own private room!
We had enjoyed brunch at Vernon’s earlier this year. We don’t generally do buffets; too much food for us. This buffet doesn’t offer a huge amount of choices; but, most of the offerings are far better than average. Carved rack of lamb was a real surprise! It was delicious, as were the crab claws and fresh sautéed fish. We had looked forward to shrimp and grits, which we had really enjoyed last time. Unfortunately, the young lady manning the sauté pan for the shrimp must have been very new to her job and totally untrained in cooking seafood. We were quite disappointed.
Don’t save room for the desserts. They seem to be very much an afterthought. The fresh fruits were a much better ending for our meal.
We enjoyed a vocalist/musician who made it feel like we were on vacation. AND, the meal is a very good value; $25, including juice, coffee and/or tea. We do plan on going back again, when we think that we can hold that much food.
Very disappointed in the overall food quality and presentation. For a Thanksgiving buffet, the turkey was fine, but the roast beef was not. The side dishes were unimaginative and looked “picked over”. Desserts were non traditional and served finger food style. The highlight of the buffet was the stone crab and shrimp station. For the price, it did not live up to expectations.
Attended a Feast for Rabbits special event dinner. Food was great, service was wonderful.
Amazing food, great service, super family friendly!
Food and service was perfect!!!
Will definitely go back.
We went to Sunday Brunch. While the number of items was not expansive, all the food presented was wonderful. It was the Farm to Table themed Sunday brunch. They had salad, french toast, biscuits and gravy and roast turkey. They also had a seafood station with peel and eat shrimp and crab, sauteed seafood as well as a dessert station with bite-size desserts. The service was attentive and the chef came around after our meal and talked with us as well. My husband and I have been to many brunches in Jacksonville and this is hands down our favorite. We plan to return for the other themed brunches.
We had a great dinner at Vernon's while staying at the Marriott. I had a seafood pasta, recommended by our server. It was excellent.
The brunch was fantastic as always. This was the Soul Food brunch. Everything was delicious, creative, authentic, and plain impressive. Hummingbirds pancakes, catfish, hush puppies, collard greens, mac and cheese bar...and this was just a fraction of all the offerings. We go with our two little boys, and both love it. The live music makes it extra special. Yet, the cost is very reasonable for the amazing quality of the food and ingredients. Plus the chefs walk around to check in on diners.
We always enjoy eating brunch st your restaurant. The view is great too.
It was a wonderful location perfect to meet up with my best friend for brunch.
Excellent brunch; great service by our server, Lisa. Beautiful views, nice ambience...we will return
The food and service was fantastic. Our waiter was very attentive and helpful with dish description. Pricey but well worth it.
Amazing brunch! The only reason for four stars rather than five on food was due to scallops being over cooked at the macaroni and cheese station. Otherwise, I found the food to be impressive and a great value for the cost. I will return to try the other three brunch themes! Mama T is the sweetest ever, and came by our table to personally speak to us about the food and other themed brunches. She is passionate about serving the community and using locally sourced ingredients in her cooking.
We really enjoyed our brunch at Vernon’s. The staff was extremely accommodating, the food was delicious, and the music was an added bonus! We absolutely loved that they had a children’s corner set up to help keep our four and a half year-old entertained during the meal!
Our second visit and again, first class! Alban is a terrific server and our food was excellent! My husband had the Pork chop and grilled veggies - divine! I had the Frutti di Mare. The pasta was perfection and the seafood sterling!
Excellent service and fresh seasonal flavorful food.
Many stand alone restaurants available in PVB and Jax beach and we eat at many - but frankly Vernon’s is better than almost of all of them from a quality of food and view perspective. Some local people avoid Vernon’s (outside of the Sunday brunch) because it is in the Marriott. That’s a mistake.
I love going to Vernon's for their new brunch themes! Every Sunday from 11-2 pm, Vernon's hosts a brunch based on a creative theme. From the children's section, to the live music, Vernon's goes all out in attention to detail. The staff is wonderful, the location and view is stunning and the food is unique and DELICIOUS. I definitely recommend, it is very well worth it.
We enjoy the restaurant open concept and view. The food is greet. Sunday brunch is family time. The live music was fabulous. We live local but felt like we were on vacation. The Marriott is beautiful.
Very nice. Great food. We wanted to check out the new Sunday buffet and were not disappointed.
