Vernick Food and Drink is simply a spectacular experience. First and foremost, in my humble opinion, the food is unrivaled by any restaurant in any city I have visited. The genuinely freidly service is a well-orchestrated, well-rehearsed, silent, team sport that was near flawless. We ate near the open concept kitchen—which wasn’t quiet—but did provide a view of the professional, serious, fast-paced elegance of Vernick’s core. The fomage blanc with tart cherries on toast should not be missed. I reviewed my calander to find the next date I was in Philadelphia so that I can return. It is my new favorite on the world map.

We had the good fortune of dining at Vernick's twice in the last week and the experience was outstanding. The food is fantastic and in both instances we ate in the kitchen with one setting at the chef's table where we could watch and ask questions of the dishes being prepared. The food was great.

I loved our meal at Vernick. The food is always on point. The wood grilled options are tremendous-we had Branzino and Steak. Both were amazing. Toasts are great as are the raw options. Tonight service was especially slow- food took a long time to come out, but they were very gracious about it.
Lovely menu, inventive and delicious. We shared four small plates. Everything was just perfectly prepared and presented. We will be back soon!!!

The food at Vernick remains impressive. The cost remains expensive. The wine list remains esoteric.
Great service and really great food. The foie gras toast and the dry aged steak were especially good.
Our second visit. Crab toast, duck sausage, eggplant timbale, turbot almandine, Meyer lemon ice cream sandwich and panna cotta were each outstanding. Service staff was attentive and very helpful. Can't wait to return, although it is not easy to get a reservation, as they are very busy, and I understand why.

Fantastic. Not pretentious great food in casual ambiance. The dishes designed with a kot of thought. Extremly balanced. Great combination of textures. My fish was very good. Wine selection per glass could be improved. But iver all highly recommended! Friendly and attentive staff.
Best food in philly, among the best anywhere. Small space amplifies noise, so a tough place for an intimate dinner, but the food more than makes up for it!

My boyfriend and I love going to high end/popular Philadelphia restaurants every two weeks for date night. Vernick Food & Drink was one of the best dining experiences he and I have ever experienced; From Beth, who I communicated with through email about the menu, to Churo (I know I spelled his name wrong and I am so sorry) the sous chef, that was stationed in front of our seats at the chefs’ counter. I will never forget just how excellent, let alone the food (!!) was. The boyfriend and I have vowed to become regular patrons here. Thank you so much.

Dined here for the first time with my husband for my birthday. I'm vegetarian and he's not and we both had awesome food. Great service too!
It was delicious! The curry shrimp, and smoked carrots and the steak were amazing.
I thought the hostess we checked in with was a little bit rude. I asked at 9pm if it’s possible to get seated early (our reservation was at 10). She sounded impatient and said the table will be ready by 10. When we got there at 10, we ended up having to wait 15 minutes.... if you’re going to make a strong statement like that you better follow through, and I felt like I didn’t ask the question with any expectation.
As for the food, everything was a bit salty for me. I really liked the uni with egg. We got the blueberry pie and was disappointed that the pie was cold.
Delicious rotating menu based on what ingredients are in season and top notch service to match...The sea bass and the blueberry pie are NOT to be missed (pie avail through end of summer we're told)! You'll thank me later!

A very nice restaurant but they tried to seat us downstairs next to the kitchen. That was not good for a celebratory event and perhaps it was ageism. We protested and were seated upstairs. If they had not moved us, we would have left. The food and service were excellent.

Had a wonderful dinner on Sunday. Servers were very knowledgeable, helpful, professional....... food was impeccable! From the chefs tasting of ginger/carrot soup to the fish wrapped in summer squash
Great dinner at Vernick. We were immediately seated and presented to our table on the second floor. Our waiter was super nice and fun and had extensive knowledge about the food and BOH. He was awesome. The toasts were awesome, we had both the mushroom and leek and the pea hummus. The fluke crudo was outstanding and one of my favorite crudo dishes in recent memory, perfectly seasoned, amazingly fresh fish and killer basil broth that was very fresh and forward to the senses. The potato pave side dish was our least favorite, noting that the smoked aioli was oversmoked. The black sea bass was great, perfectly seasoned, just a tiny tiny bit fishy in some bites, but nothing bad. The eggplant timbale was great, very well seasoned and deliciously plated. The desert was nothing to write about in this case, just a small bite of brownie.
Food was outstanding and creative. Our server, Michael, was super friendly and very knowledgeable. Cocktails were exceptional also. Highly recommend.
