Awesome place.... very frndly service...flavorful food.... a must visit restaurant.... will b returning wit frnds soon....
Very disappointed in the service and how slow it was. Staff was rude. Food wasn’t great and over priced for sure especially Valentine’s Day!
Brought my vegetarian daughter. Vegetarian tasting menu was outstanding!
Service was sub par, food was bland and they were out of the batter for dosas which my friend and I both wanted to order as entrees. The methi paneer had no flavor to it. I will not return to this restaurant.
Me and family enjoyed eating here. Awesome service and food. We will see you guys soon.
Food was average at best. There was a loud party going on when we arrived. The wine I was served was spoiled. I sent it back and was not charged.
Our food was spilled and served cold
Mother food Emma’s amazing. Very special experience
Had a great experience! Creative, unique, wonderful tasting food. Attentive service which included explaining the ingredients in each dish. Would definitely return.
The restaurant positions itself as a “fine dining” one but starting from the greeting by the host, the seating arrangements , the wait times were ridiculously bad experiences. The price of the food is that of a fine dining restaurant but all the other aspects are anything but that. Will recommend against - particularly for special occasions. This is such a downer.
We went as a family of 4 and had a great time. Food and service was awesome.
Great restaurant. We loved the food and service. Will recommend to friends and family.
Loved the food. Specially, the butter chicken and lamb shank was very good. I will be back.
It was great night with my girlfriend. We loved the food and service. The ambiance was awesome with soft music in the background. It was our date night and we were so glad that picked Vermilion.
When my brother requested Indian for his college graduation/family celebration meal, I remembered I had been to Vermillion ~8 years ago, and its upscale, Indian/Latin fusion would be perfect. I wish I would have checked current reviews: We walked in at 7:30 on a Saturday night and were the only table in the place. It was embarrassing. The food was fine (thank god), with some hits and misses--and service was fine since really, there were at max 4 tables in the place. But the ambiance really gave a "dying restaurant" vibe, and sadly, wouldn't recommend.
The staff were WONDERFUL and some of the food was highly tasty which was encouraging. When we had the appetizers, I was hopeful. The drinks were pleaseant but did not seem to have the standard 1.5 ounce of alcohol rhat a cocktail should have. The entrees received mixed reviews. Two of us were underwhelmed by the seafood stew and the steak; some thought it was good. One person loved the lamb.
Overall, it feels like this restaurant needs an infusion of love. We and one other party were the only patrons. This is a shame for the place has been considerably more vibrant in years past.
Need more veggie dishes particularly for vegetarians
Main Coates’s over cooked. Steak and the lobster and the lamb.
Excellent food, great service! Our host Kadir was very pleasant, informative and friendly. Highly recommend it!
Great host, not much else to write about
The server was nice. The flavors were layered and decent. The price point just didnt match the food items. Our lobster in a coconut gravy came out cold the first time and the second time it was undercooked, for 35$ I would have expected more put of this dish. They seemed understaffed as well the hostess was waiting on tables also. Ot was 3 people serving the whole place. Food is definitely spicy if you like that and the flavors are unique. However, the cost just doesn't match the flavors or portion size.
Butter chicken was excellent (this is one of my favorite dishes). The presentation was great in the traditional lunch box. The starters and cocktails were very good as well.
We have eaten there many times and have loved the food Tuesday night was a horrible experience They had no staff and the one person there was too busy to even bring us some sparkling water. After waiting for 30 minutes with no service we left This is how great restaurants fade away. We are heartbroken to see this restaurant on the way out We would not recommend anyone go there
It was my girlfriends birthday. The server who was also, the hostess, the bartender, busser, everything, she was amazing. She made everything very special for my lady. Rose petals on the table to an elaborate decorative plate with a candle for dessert.
Butter Chicken was very good (I eat that about everywhere I go, so I have some point of reference). Chef prepared it with some requested heat — loved it! The presentation was really eclectic — preserving Indian tradition with a “lunch box”. Great touch! DeAndra the server/bar tender was over the top friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive.
It was nice and sexy inside. Loved it, from the complimentary amuse to my dessert. We weren’t going to get dessert at first because we were so full but the server raved about the mango flan. Everything was perfect.
Really bad food. Even the basics like palak paneer and butter chicken were bad.
Worst food ever. Do not go to this restaurant . It’s not worth the money. Very high $ for the worst food .
Empty and seemed to be dying - service was 2 people total for the restaurant, very nice, only semi-attentive, but made a few mistakes. Really overpriced.
We absolutely loved the food! There are plenty of delicious food options. The service was great too. The interior decor/design does not match the amazing food and service. An update of the interior space would greatly improve the dining experience.
Very nice restaurant. Food was very good with spice but not overbearing. Service was exceptional. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone.
We came to celebrate my wife's birthday - this was our 2nd visit but after a long time. They had done a great job in setting a table with rose petals and servers were attentive making her feel special. However, we found that menu was limited and not as eclectic as Vermilion is expected to be. Food was fairly standard Indian cuisine with perhaps slightly better presentation. The prices were exorbitant and one can get far better food at much lower prices.
Vermilion was totally different then what I was expecting. Everything we ordered was amazing, the service was wonderful
& the drinks were good. I was disappointed with the Pani Puri Margarita, it’s wasn’t as nice as everyone had described to me. The sweet pepper soup wasn’t very good at all. Presentation was very nice. They gave an amazing decorated plate for my friends birthday. Overall very good experience!!
I have eaten at Vermillion at least 6 times, and it has never failed. Amazing quality. Beautiful presentation. Depth of flavor. Wonderful technique. Good pacing of service. My friend and I shared 4 small plates, an order of fries, and 2 desserts and were very full.
We waited for 1 hour to be served our food when the restaurant had 3 tables to feed including ours, total of 7 people!
When the food came in it was beyond bad. I can make better dosa and Frankie at home and in definitely less than 1 hour for even 7 people. Never going back.
Horrible food. Bad experience altogether! We had to send food back on two occasions for being undercooked!
EXCELLENT food, fantastic service! This was a fantastic find for my group. I can’t give enough complements to the food, it was so delicious!
The food was medicore. And one of the menu items didn't have ingredients listed on the menu
Recommended by a family member to try this restaurant. I was intrigued when I was told it is Indian and Latin fusion cuisine.
The restaurant is massive, fancy, modern and stunning. Our host/ server was the same person. He was very amiable, and extremely helpful. Since we were not super hungry; we decided to order 4 appetizer to share as tapas style.
We received a complementary from the chef, it was mashed vege fritters with mango salsa and tamarind drizzle. Rating: B+
From our orders: Pani Puri Chat with margarita sauce. Rating: A-
Coconut toasted shrimps with chimichurri sauce, Rating: A+
Tamarind marinated Paneer Cheese, Rating: B
Octopus sautéed with red peppers and onions, fajita style, Rating A
By my ratings, it's obvious, I simply enjoyed this place immensely. As it was recommended to me, so I highly recommend this place to everyone.
I've eaten at Vermilion twice--once in 2013/2014, and once recently in 2018. My memories of the food/experience during my first meal there are fond--delicious foods and reasonable portions. Since then however, while the flavors still appear to be consistent and good, the portions seem to have shrunk while the prices have remained the same. For some reason I remembered getting 3 scallops back in '13/'14. The 2018 menu only gives 2.
Music was nice, not so loud that I couldn't hear the conversations being had. The server was also attentive, but not obtrusive (however, I'd say that wasn't difficult considering we were the only diners during lunch at that time).
In all, while the taste and service have remained very good, the experience/value comparison has declined.
