Veritas Steak & Seafood Ratings and Reviews
Veritas is a high end restaurant. Excellent food - well served. We were there with friends for Valentine's Day. A single page menu was provided with what we viewed to be inflated prices. We left disappointed that we were in a "charge what the market will bear" situation.
Everything was quite nice. I was treating my daughter to a birthday lunch before she left the country for a few days and Veritas was the perfect spot. The food was tasty, served hot, and just the right amount. The waiter also brought out a piece of cake decorated with "Happy Birthday" on it! Perfect.
Food is excellent, service is ok, nothing special. Waiter pushed their close out wines way too hard, trying to steer me from my original selection. Ok to tell me about them, but don't bring the bottles to my table and tell me how much they regularly sell for, and what a bargain they are today.
The spaghetti was not very tasteful. The marinara sauce could have been more flavor able. My advice - go to Damian’s and try their spaghetti. You will know whatI am talking about. It’s all in the sauce. Server did not bring out a spoon to eat with my spaghetti.
Snapper was dry. The fish was over cooked.
White bread pudding was over cooked. It needed a bit more burbon flavor.
Ambiance was nice. It would have been nice to have had a pianist playing on that day, but it was just a loud bar next to us making the noise. Anytime it is the holidays, you should always turn it up a notch. Music is one way of setting the mood in a dining experience.
Server was a bit slow. We had to ask another server to get him at one point so we could order dessert. Overall, it’s a beautiful setting, but the restaurant needs improving. I give this restaurant a C+.
I was pleasantly surprised on my first visit!! The ambiance was excellent and food was as well.
I though the butternut stuffed ravioli was quite delicious. So was the blackened redfish stuffed with crab. In fact, I enjoyed my dinner there so much on Tuesday, that I made reservations again for this Friday.
Meeting a lady for the first time, the hostess on short notice made a good presentation of the flowers brought. After letting the waiter know we would like some time to talk he left us alone. The food was prepared extremely well. The surf and turf option was excellent. The only issue was the noise level did pick up a bit by the end of the meal making conversation a little more difficult.
The appetizer was the only good thing we had. The Ahi Tuna was overcooked and the rice was under cooked. My date had chicken alex and the chicken was stringy and gross. the price of our meal was way too much for the poor quality of food.
We also felt very rushed. we literally were in and out in an hour. not much of a date night
Service was awful. Waited 30+’minutes to have esiter . Had to ask for drink service. Had to ask for dinner specials.. even the table next to us complained about the service. $10.95 for a @wedge salad” was way out of line for cut up lettuce, with a few sparse pieces of tiny bits of bacon and very small tiny pieces of tomato. My husband asked for horse radish, which he never received. Haven’t been to this place in a year or so and it will be a long time until we return. Way over pr
It was a special night for my wife and my self. We are from out of town so we check the internet. We based our special night on what others had noted. They were right on spot. We had a Great Evening, staff was excellent, food delicious, wine at a good price. View and ambiance very nice. When we are in Houston again, we will be back.
We were there for our anniversary and were put in the room right next to the front , right inside that door so not too romantic.
Service- they seemed confused as to which table to deliver the food to and there were only 3 couples in the small room.
The drinks were good and the crab cake was the best we have ever had.
Staff was very friendly.
We will go again.
I love the atmosphere. Great salads, loved my Cesear salad.
I ordered the lunch Salmon well done, with potatoes and asparagus , but receive the dinner Salmon medium cooked, with steamed Spanish, which was disappointing. Glad my husband, who I took out for his birthday enjoyed the blackened red snapper. Took my Salmon home and finished cooking it myself. So it wasn't all a. Ad
