We ate on the patio overlooking the lake. We had pasta, salmon, and steaks. Thai peanut calamari to start. All were outstanding! Only downside was they had already run out of red snapper special at 5:30 PM, and they only had 1 bottle of the wine we ordered in stock, so we had to change wines. Highly recommend - it’s one of our favorites.
Food is excellent !! A little pricey for some of the portion sizes, but otherwise, excellent !
Although the waitresses’ were nice, I was a bit dissatisfied with the service...our drinks ran out prior to receiving dinner. When one of my guest asked for refill - Peach tea, we were told there was no more and no alternate drink was offered. Glad we were served water along with tea...
Another of my guest ordered a stake, which he enjoyed for $50; however disappointed no sides were included. After asking if sides came along with the meal, the waiter simply said I can get some, and later charged $10 for sautéed zucchini & red bell peppers, needless to say, disappointing and a bit pricey for a meal that did not include at least one side...
The food was excellent. Wine list was impressive. Service was prompt and attentive. We enjoyed.
For some reason our table was not ready at our reservation time, so we sat in the bar and had a drink while waiting. The manager came by to apologize and made all our drinks complimentary. This was a great touch and showed me that they were interested in our satisfaction.
We love the whole experience - great food, exceptional service and a warm, inviting setting with scenic view.
The best restaurant in Sugar Land!!
Very comfortable, good scenery, attentive wait staff, and good food
The food, the service, and the ambience was amazing second time my girlfriend and I visited. The first time I proposed on the patio
I always enjoy lunch or dinner at Veritas. Excellent food and exceptional service. The waitstaff and owner handled an issue with an older gift card with courtesy and professionalism. Their actions ensured my future loyalty. I definitely recommend Veritas for a casual lunch or dinner or for a special occasion.
Met friends and loved the view and the food. Only complaint is that we were not offered the happy hour menu. We had to ask for it. We would not have known to ask for it had our friends not been there before.
We called looking for availability for a party of six in one hour on a Saturday night. They were great and accommodated us. My wife and I went early and had a drink at the bar. Nick and Jose were awesome! Went to our table. Waiter was prompt, very thorough, and very descriptive of the specials. My wife's filet was a bit over done. Some restaurants have a problem cooking small filet's rare. I had a bone in ribeye. It was excellent! Sides were huge and very good too! Although we don't live near the restaurant we are looking forward to going back!
We arrived right on time, the Hostess was on top of the situation, even knew my name due to the reservation and we were seated immediately.
The selection is great, I had a salad and my associate had fish. It was all very good. It was a business meal and the waiter understood that and left us alone most of the time so we could talk business.
Great place, I will be back.
Very nice place with good food. Although it was a great place I wouldn’t recommend for special occasions like anniversaries etc.
Had a great evening for my 16th wedding anniversary the food was amazing the drinks were amazing and the scenery was amazing as well I love this restaurant and I will be back great place to take your friends and family for any type of occasion
Food good, small portions, overpriced. Wine very good.
Great steaks and seafood. Service was terrific! Very clean restrooms.
Love this place... took my 14 you daughter for a special occasion and she loved it too, s great break from the routine...
Everyone was very welcoming and attentive. The food was excellent and the ambiance was elegant yet relaxing. Highly recommend!
the lamb lollipops were to die for. shrimp scampi was yummy, my three small filets were very tasty. everything served beautifully.
the shrimp with lobster salad was excellent. a very fav. The waiter left us alone to have a conversation, which I appreciated immensely. I would go back again and again.
Needs better service, the food was great. The staff was not very helpful, and the place was just too noisy!
Food was wonderful and service was amazing
Food not up to standards of previous visits, but still very good. Beef tips were chewy and obviously a lesser cut of beef. Bacon wrapped scallops were terrific. Service was sketchy, but adequate. We will definitely give them another chance.
As always, the food was excellent and the staff was friendly and efficient.
Food was ok at best. Certainly not first class as the price would suggest. Service was not first class either
Veritas is a high end restaurant. Excellent food - well served. We were there with friends for Valentine's Day. A single page menu was provided with what we viewed to be inflated prices. We left disappointed that we were in a "charge what the market will bear" situation.
Misleading sales tactic on specials of the day ..,
Sound level ruined the evening for us. We could not hear each other speak. Had to move to a booth in the bar area.
Everything was quite nice. I was treating my daughter to a birthday lunch before she left the country for a few days and Veritas was the perfect spot. The food was tasty, served hot, and just the right amount. The waiter also brought out a piece of cake decorated with "Happy Birthday" on it! Perfect.
Great place for a business meal. Very quiet. Great food and atmosphere. Highly recommend.
Slow and unresponsive lunch service. Dinner prices, lunch portions.
Visits sugar land
Food is excellent, service is ok, nothing special. Waiter pushed their close out wines way too hard, trying to steer me from my original selection. Ok to tell me about them, but don't bring the bottles to my table and tell me how much they regularly sell for, and what a bargain they are today.
The spaghetti was not very tasteful. The marinara sauce could have been more flavor able. My advice - go to Damian’s and try their spaghetti. You will know whatI am talking about. It’s all in the sauce. Server did not bring out a spoon to eat with my spaghetti.
Snapper was dry. The fish was over cooked.
White bread pudding was over cooked. It needed a bit more burbon flavor.
Ambiance was nice. It would have been nice to have had a pianist playing on that day, but it was just a loud bar next to us making the noise. Anytime it is the holidays, you should always turn it up a notch. Music is one way of setting the mood in a dining experience.
Server was a bit slow. We had to ask another server to get him at one point so we could order dessert. Overall, it’s a beautiful setting, but the restaurant needs improving. I give this restaurant a C+.
Always love Veritas! Their steaks are yummy! Great bark and just the right done ness. Salvador is our favorite waiter and always takes great care of us. Highly recommend for date night or special occasions.
Very good, will be back for sure
The meal was delicious and the service was great. Our server was Louis. Ask for him. We plan to go back again.
